Fizzy from what I've seen on fb, Rafa's knee is not as bad as it was at the end of last year, and he's still hoping to play in Beijing, which is soon.

Not heard/seen anything about Murray. His camp do tend to keep things very quiet regarding his injuries/recovery though.

it's been very windy and drizzly here, but nothing spectacular. I am struggling to get motivated today.

Yes we are also getting the end of some storm or other - Hurricane Mary, possibly?! Not sure if that's the right name at all. There is a guy re-pointing next door's chimney at the mo, which seems a bit risky in these conditions!

I know what you mean about hibernating Fizzy. I have zero get up and go today.

That's good news about Rafa. I haven't heard anything about Murray either. I wonder if he'll even play again this season? I hope so though.

There is loads of Laver Cup stuff on twitter. They really know how to promote themselves, that's for sure. It's "the future of tennis" apparently

Ha I obviously misheard the storm name - it's Storm Ali (could have been Mary though!!).

I hate the flipping scaremongering storm warnings these days. You're expecting a hurricane and then it's just a bit windy and when there's no warnings you get an almighty gale!

DelPo has withdrawn from the Laver Cup as he's still recovering from his US Open run. A likely story we know he's really on holiday with magi

Hmm that's interesting about Layhani, as the first "official" view was that he hadn't really done anything wrong. Probably the right decision though. He should never have done it.

Private- I'm not surprised about Delpo - he's had a lengthy season, and one or two injury blips- if he wants to stay fit til the end of the season, playing an 'extra' non ranking tournament like the Laver cup isn't wise. Rafa made the right decision to say as far back as Wimbledon that he wasn't going to play it(at the time though he expected to play Davis Cup). The timing of the Laver cup really isn't great at all.

I'm sitting in the middle of this hoping the power stays on it's very gusty but everyone has gone about their business so I'm hoping they'll all be safe and that it dies down soon. I'd take thunder and lightening over wind any day!

I've got to go to the doctor in a bit- it's just a medication review, but I know he's going to try and stab me with the flu jab whilst i'm there. I'm too tired to argue .

Raahh yes I also think Delpo made the right decision. As with Rafa, I'd honestly prefer him to take the long view and skip some events every now and then.

Also it's his birthday this weekend so perhaps he wants the weekend off - it's his 30th after all.

Birthday related stat: once Delpo turns 30, there won't be any male players under 30 who have won a Slam. Amazing eh?!?

Private that really is an amazing statistic, isn't it? I bet he is having a 30th weekend bash. I just hope he doesn't fall foul of the 'turning 30' curse, which seemed to affect both Murray and Djok last year!

The wind hasn't arrived here yet, if it does. We're in the amber warning area and it's just another day so far. Although very wet and I'm regretting the dog at this point in time.

My dog is going bonkers because the letterbox is banging in the wind and he thinks the postman is here!

Well, I avoided the flu jab, but I've got to go back in a month so they might get me then when their stocks are on.

My dog is not happy with me. The groomer rang and has a cancellation, so he's off for a hair cut. Which us great, as he would have far to wait til next month and looks like a yeti and not a schnauzer. But he HATES going to the groomer.

Just hope he doesn't end up being scalped.
