Delpo isn't 30 yet? He looks older.
Aww just think of all he's been through, though! Those bloody injuries and surgeries, depression and being unemployed basically, for 2 years. Bless him.

Not to mention the sun exposure. They probably all look older because of that.

Glad you avoided the jab Raahh!

Hope all good with the puppy Grouchy.

GrouchyKiwi · 19/09/2018 11:44

That's an excellent point, Private.

Hooray for avoiding the jab, and dog groomers, Raahh.

The puppy is lovely but very jumpy and nippy today and I'm finding it hard to be patient. I'd like to skip through all the training and just have a sweet quiet dog. She's also a bit afraid of the tennis ball.

Haha grouchy my dog was afraid of all balls when she was younger, she now loves tennis balls but still won't tolerate a football near her, she runs away if my children have left theirs out by mistake HmmGrin good luck!
Hope the groomers goes well raahh
Keep safe in the weather everyone
Im down in this east and we don't even have a warning, so we are off to the coast this afternoon. Ds1 needs to look for creatures/shells for his Biology/marine diversity project.
Am missing the tennis, but my ATP tickets arrived today so it's not all bad :)

PrivateParkin · 19/09/2018 12:34

Oh Grouchy she's lovely!! The puppy stage sounds a bit like the newborn baby stage though??! Well, maybe not the jumping and biting Grin but the demanding nature of it!!

Enjoy the coast Mama, that sounds very nice. Exciting about the O2 tickets too. I'm still holding out (for now!).

Raahh · 19/09/2018 12:49

Well, I'm sat in a cafe near the groomers waiting for the call to pick him up and just read on FB that Rafa has definitely withdrawn from Beijing and Shanghai now, which I fully expected- but he had given me a glimmer of hope he would compete.

I'm beginning to think Djok is just going to take over the rest of the season.

Gorgeous dog, Grouchy- and very brave.Newfies are big dogs, aren't they? I'm hoping Ike comes home looking a bit more schnauzer like, and not too shorn. ( he has been digging a lot lately and it a bit more matted than he should be- and he won't let me brush him properlyHmm).

OP posts:
PrivateParkin · 19/09/2018 13:50

Hope Ike (great name) is looking good Raahh!

Ah shame about Rafa, but yes, not a huge surprise. I can't believe the way this season is panning out. Djok can only make No1 because Rafa isn't there. I hate the tennis rankings system at times.

Meanwhile I see Osaka won her first match back Smile

Raahh · 19/09/2018 13:56

it's amazing, isn't it, Private at the beginning of the year, Djok was losing early in all his tournaments and I was nearlyfeeling sorry for him.

And look at him now, indeed.

The dog is a big more shorn than I would like, but at least it's not cold.Although the weather has gone horrible, and it is raining really heavily.

Which always happens to me, when I've been to the hairdresser Grin

and I saw Naomi had drawn Cibulkova , which could have been tricky, so I'm glad she got through.

To be fair Nole has won two grand slams and Rafa and Roger "only" one each this year so on current form Nole is no.1. If the rankings reflect this by the time the WTF come around then I think that's right.

PrivateParkin · 19/09/2018 19:56

Hmm yes I suppose I'll give him that ferrier. Although to be fair, he had a rubbish season up until Queen's. He's the form player, rather than the best over the whole year.

Basically: he tricked us Grin He got everyone feelings sorry for him because he'd lost his way and he looked like his heart wasn't in it any more, he was injured etc. And now he's back, better than before - well, maybe. And he keeps beating all our favourites!!

I don't know if anyone listened to/remembers the Radio 5 commentary when Andy Murray won Wimbledon the first time. When Djok had those break points in the final game, Jonathan Overend, (who's an absolutely brilliant tennis commentator IMHO, although I don't think he does tennis any more, sadly) anyway he described Djokovic as a Bond villain because he looked down and out, and then he was going to pounce and come back into it. He was like "Put him in a cape!" And that's what he's like now. Argh!!

PrivateParkin · 19/09/2018 20:10

Oh so the Laver Cup is on Amazon as well! They kept that quiet (or have I just not been paying attention??)...

BeaLola · 20/09/2018 00:30

Hellolovely people. That is the most gorgeous puppy - good thing my DS10 hasn't seen it as he's aching for a dog.

Am missing the tennis , looking forward to ATP , hanging on for tickets .

Hope storm passes quickly for those of you in its path.

JaneJeffer · 20/09/2018 08:55

Hope you had a nice time at the beach Mama. The temperature had dropped a few degrees here today but it's very calm now.

Hope you get some tickets Bea.

Cute puppy Grouchy

Raahh · 20/09/2018 13:45

Jane hope you haven't blown away.

It's very wet here today. I'm a bit fed up.

In tennis news, Stan is doing well in St Petersburg. In his horrible orange shirt Grin.

OP posts:
PrivateParkin · 20/09/2018 14:05

It's a grey old day here today too. Another storm is coming in apparently.

So Stan beat Karen then? I saw they were playing each other but hadn't seen who won. I'm going to see if I can find him on my TV somewhere...

Raahh · 20/09/2018 14:08

It looks like it was very close, but he came through it.

He is slowly getting to the end of the year- which is good. Hopefully he can start 2019 in a good place.

OP posts:
PrivateParkin · 20/09/2018 17:41

Well Stan was nowhere to be found, so I had I make do with "ATP Uncovered" instead... But it did have interviews with Delpo and Milkman if anyone is interested!

Raahh · 21/09/2018 16:59

just seen that Stan went through against Dzumhur. So that's good. And Osaka is still heading in the right direction in Tokyo.

OP posts:
Raahh · 21/09/2018 17:02

I noticed too that Nishikori is playing in Metz, I wonder why he isn't playing in Japan?

OP posts:
Raahh · 21/09/2018 17:04

I think I have read in the past, that Kei is such a superstar in Japan that he can't go anywhere without being mobbed, so maybe that's why?

OP posts:
ferrier · 21/09/2018 20:17

Anyone watching the Laver Cup? On Sky Action.

JaneJeffer · 21/09/2018 20:17

Dimitrov and Tiafoe are on Sky Sports Action.

I'm feeling awful today with IBS pains and a sore throat as well and I just feel irritable!

It always takes me a minute recognise Anderson without his cap Grin

JaneJeffer · 21/09/2018 20:18

Cross post ferrier I'm glad to see there's a good crowd there.

JaneJeffer · 21/09/2018 20:32

What's with the music? Sounds like the Hollyoaks theme.

PrivateParkin · 21/09/2018 20:34

Yes I'm watching - on Amazon though. I think Robbie Koenig is the commentator. And Petch is the studio analyst. They're all taking it very seriously, considering its basically an exhibition.

I'm not sure about the weird grey court either.

Quite enjoying the buddy/team vibe though Grin

Hope you feel better soon Jane
