Grin

I can't believe it's nearly September, really. I'm sure the Australian open has just finished. Grin

I'm going to spend the morning labelling school uniform . I really am.

I probably won't

DelPo has called the trainer....

PrivateParkin · 04/09/2018 22:24

Sorry to hear that magi - sweet shorts based dreams Smile

JaneJeffer · 04/09/2018 22:24

Goodnight magi, sweet dreams...

Raahh · 04/09/2018 22:35

Fabulous.

Now, I just need Rafa to do the same.

PrivateParkin · 04/09/2018 22:37

Yes Delpo!!! Whoop!

Side note: why don't they ever take the final ball off the court when play has finished?? The players almost always step back on the court to wave to the crowd or whatever, what if they just stepped on that ball and rolled their ankle?? It makes me v nervous!

Fizzywinegum · 04/09/2018 22:38

Yay well done Delpo - bring on Rafa (hopefully)

magimedi · 04/09/2018 22:38

Yay!! So happy for Delpo!

Really, truly am going to bed now.

See you al tomorrow.

Raahh · 04/09/2018 22:39

Goodnight magi!

The interviewer is annoying me- he's talking to Juan as if he doesn't understand EnglishHmm

his English is probably better than the interviewer

MajesticWhine · 04/09/2018 22:44

Yay well done Delpo. Those guys looked shattered and were hardly moving by the end of it.

Fizzywinegum · 04/09/2018 22:47

Night Magi- yes he was speaking very slowly to Delpo and his english is perfectly fine. I liked it when he said that he laid on the table in the heat break and then didn’t want to get up again - I don’t blame him.

PrivateParkin · 04/09/2018 22:53

I know - it doesn't sound like a very relaxing break does it?! Having a shower, getting your ankles taped and lying on a table?! I like to imagine them having a brew and flicking through Chat! magazine or something Grin

Raahh · 04/09/2018 22:55

Fizzy I bet he just wanted to nod off.

Now, I really want Rafa to win.

A Rafa/Delpo semi will be hard to watch (again this year), as I really like both. If Delpo beat Rafa though, it would be much easier to deal with than Djok beating him.

If Juan gets to the final, and so does Novak- I really think he has a great chance. He also seems to be dealing with the heat better (even if he's getting sweatyGrin). Djok has looked like he is about to throw up on a line judge in at least two matches.

Are you staying up for Rafa Raahh? It's Serena first isn't it?

PrivateParkin · 04/09/2018 23:02

about to throw up on a line judge can you imagine?! Grin Envy

Raahh · 04/09/2018 23:04

I would love to stay up- but it's unlikely. I will probably wake up at about 2.30am, as usual, and check the scores (and be unable to go back to sleep). My sleep patterns over the last year have been worse than when I had a newborn , ffs Grin.

Of course, by then, Amazon will have decided it doesn't want to play AngryGrin

He asked for a bin in once match, private- they mustn't provide sick bags as standard at the US Open. Even ones you can buy from the shop. Grin .

Raahh · 04/09/2018 23:06

*one

OP posts:
PrivateParkin · 04/09/2018 23:08

Oh yes I forgot about the bin thing!! That was against Fucsovics when it was really hot wasn't it - it seems ages ago.

I think Jim Courier said it's supposed to cool down during the next few days.

MajesticWhine · 04/09/2018 23:21

Forecast in NY is much cooler at the weekend, down to about 23.

Raahh · 05/09/2018 05:19

eek! woke up earlier and checked the scores. No idea what happened to Rafa in the first set. Fell asleep again, to wake up to 2-4 down in the 4th. But he's just drawn level.

I will probably not sleep much now!

OP posts:
Raahh · 05/09/2018 05:55

And we're into a 5th set...

I knew this would be a tricky match, and I'm glad I'm not 'watching'. I wish I'd woken up a bit later though!

OP posts:
MirandaWest · 05/09/2018 06:22

I woke up at 2 and saw Serena had won her match but Rafa hadn’t started his. Woke again at 6 and saw it was into a 5th set. Now need to get up and ready to meet colleagues and help somewhat with children getting up.

How many people stay all the way through the night matches I wonder? Is after 1 in the morning there.

MirandaWest · 05/09/2018 06:25

Just looked at the scores more closely - what happened in the first set Shock?
