I can't believe it's nearly September, really. I'm sure the Australian open has just finished. Grin

I'm going to spend the morning labelling school uniform . I really am.

I probably won't

Yay well done to Rafa and Delpo - I’ve still not seen sleeveless Rafa yet!

I was flicking between the Murray and Delpo match - the online scores are way in front of the match on screen - I saw on the app that Delpo had won while I was still watching the match and there were still a few points to play.

I’m still not enjoying Prime - my teenage DS watches a few sports on Prime and he thinks it’s normal not to say who’s playing on which court. He said that he would just google that info but I want it there on the screen! He also watches a lot of tv on his phone when I just want to watch it on the telly! Maybe it’s not aimed at my generation.

Not sure how happy Roger will be at playing in the afternoon - is it still as hot? And will Rafa ever have an afternoon match - I need to see those biceps!

Raahh · 30/08/2018 17:47

Fizzy I don't think it's the norm for any tournament I have ever watched for the tv coverage to only show the name of the court each day, and not include who is playing. None of the other slams do it- they name the courts- Laver/Lenglen/Number 1 whatever, and the players a the time.

Not doing it seems like the cheap way of going about it iyswim- because it means the front navigation page never needs updating- it just has to say Louis Armstrong or whatever. Well, we know the court exists Grin, and we know there will be play at various times- we want to know who! Grin

And yy- the US OPen app is minutes ahead. I had both the tv on, and the scores open, so knew Delpo had won, before he did on the tv Grin

I am not going to be seeing Rafa play a full match any time soon, if they keep scheduling him last on (until the final, which is usually earlier).

Exactly - unacceptable!!

All Amazon channels are showing women's matches ATM Shock now that is an unusual situation. I'm watching Sabalenka - love her style of play, she's great to watch.

I would like to look in on Fognini-Milkman but nothing doing - unless anyone else has found it?

PrivateParkin · 30/08/2018 18:04

Oh it's on the outside court channel now...

Still reeling from Foggy's outfit!!

Fizzywinegum · 30/08/2018 18:15

Fizzy I think my DS meant that they are treating tennis the same as they do any other sports but in other sports there aren’t usually lots of matches all happening at the same time in different places.

I might have a look in on Foggy and Milkman Privte - Foggy's outfits always cheer me up Smile

I think Kyrgios might be playing soon - not sure I can cope with him and Amazon Prime!

Also what about Murray’s spat with Verdasco - Murray said that Verdasco was talking to his coach in the heat break (which isn’t allowed) but Verdasco said that he was just chatting to Marcus Baghdatis - the plot thickens (apparently there were no naked ice baths either as it wouldn’t have been good for Murray’s hip!) Sorry I meant Raahh - I keep forgetting my name! I’ve not been drinking honestly!

In tennis fashion news, it would seem that the pink wrist band/ red shorts combo is a (possibly adidas sponsored) thing- as Sascha Zverev is wearing the same. Grin

Raahh · 30/08/2018 18:38

Anyway- I need to know the temperature. They haven't told me yet, and I've been watching 10 minutes!Grin

Adidas can sod off, then. Grin

I see that Kyrgios is being a twat again. They should just refuse him entry into the tournaments until he remembers what an adult is.

Watching the Kerber match. She was 5-2 up in the second set when I started watching and now it's 6-5 to Larsson with Kerber behind on serve.

GrouchyKiwi · 30/08/2018 18:45

And Larsson has just taken the second set. What an excellent comeback that is, and the third set is going to be interesting.

Raahh · 30/08/2018 18:47

I have just switched over to the Kyrgios match- it does appear he's being warned for tanking. Now, really, the umpire shouldn't be doing that- if he wants to chuck the match, let him, I think. If Herbert now loses the match, it won't be fair.

The commentators are making excuse for him. As usual.

OP posts:
Raahh · 30/08/2018 18:48

I like Kerber- very nice dress she's wearing. If it is a dress.

OP posts:
Raahh · 30/08/2018 18:49

In fact (pissed off on Herbert's behalf really) shouldn't the umpire be impartial?

OP posts:
Raahh · 30/08/2018 18:50

(If you missed it, he wasn't so much warning him from his chair, he was down, almost giving him a pep talk. At first I thought it was his coach.

I'll shut up nowGrin).

PrivateParkin · 30/08/2018 18:51

I'm totally off Kyrgios after his tweets about Tsitsipas. I'm not watching his match but I do like PHH.

At least Zverev has ditched that outfit from last year's US Open - the Borg-style one, with the knee socks?! Shock

GrouchyKiwi · 30/08/2018 18:52

Yes, the umpire looked very supportive. He was in the Talking To Toddlers position I have to assume so often these days.

Knee socksGrin

It's better than his RG one too- the beige shorts were not a good look when they got sweaty.

OP posts:
Raahh · 30/08/2018 18:55

Grouchy he was! GrinI'm just not convince it was his job to do it, and although it seemed nice , if Kyrgios is so hell bent on self destruct, then sorry, let him. They've been banging on about him for years. He isn't a teenage prodigy anymore- he's a sweary adult, with no respect for others.

Private I missed his tweets. But I can imagine. Stefanos is achieving at a slightly younger age things that Nick didn't do.

And manages to be a nice bloke at the same time.

OP posts:
Fizzywinegum · 30/08/2018 18:58

Grouchy yes Kyrgios is like a toddler - although I’m sure mine were never that badly behaved!

I can’t believe the allowances that tournaments and commentators make for his awful behaviour. I just think he’s really disrespectful to his opponents and tennis fans.

Fizzywinegum · 30/08/2018 19:08

Just seen Lendl courtside at the Zverev/Mahut match - looking as happy as ever Smile

I’ve had to stop watching Kyrgios - he was carrying his towel around with his teeth again - yuk!
