I can't believe it's nearly September, really. I'm sure the Australian open has just finished. Grin

I'm going to spend the morning labelling school uniform . I really am.

I probably won't

I fear for Delpo in the next round a bit...

Raahh · 29/08/2018 23:56

She most definitely would not!

Jane Grin

Well, I ought to put a bet on, I called the Wawrinka/Dimitrov match, and this one.

To be honest, I think they were both fairly easy to call, really.

And that's the other thing Amazon does- speedy truncated highlights straight after the match.

Like the end of 'Painting with Nancy'.

I'm not going to make it for Rafa Sad am shattered. Goodnight all, sweet dreams!!!

JaneJeffer · 30/08/2018 00:01

I was watching the Stan/Grigor highlights on YouTube earlier and all the comments were complaints about how they only showed Stan's winning shots and none of Grigor's!

JaneJeffer · 30/08/2018 00:03

Goodnight Private. I should get off to bed myself. Bloody school!

Raahh · 30/08/2018 00:04

Jane that's a bit odd- I mean, Grigor did make some!

JaneJeffer · 30/08/2018 00:05

Raahh · 30/08/2018 00:05

This is eerie- all I have is screen showing a sunset- the American National anthem is playing.

I am going to have to give up. If I wake up later, I might watch the Rafa match.

Muguruza is out but Vamos Rafa!

Came on here to see what you all thought about Alize Cornet receiving a code violation for changing her shirt on court, from a male umpire... It’s caused quite the uproar, given that the blokes seem quite free to sit around half-naked for minutes at a time, where she realised her shirt was back to front and quickly turned it round, exposing nothing more scandalous than her sports bra.

An official hastily apologised to her and the US Open has issued a statement to say that ALL players are free to change their shirts on court.

And then there’s the French Open banning Serena’s catsuit from next year!

JaneJeffer · 30/08/2018 08:04

That's ridiculous TheOnly. The same rules should apply to everyone re shirt changing, heat breaks, etc.

JaneJeffer · 30/08/2018 08:04

I agree with banning the horrible cat suit though!

PrivateParkin · 30/08/2018 08:27

TheOnly I kept meaning to post about it but there was too much else going on! Yes it was ridiculous. The rules are a code violation for women changing their top on court!!

Timea Bascinsky said she was told to leave court when she had to change her shirt yesterday, she had to go to a public bathroom with fans asking for selfies, cleaning staff shouting at her (?!) and then all the way back to court, it took her over 10 mins and she was so annoyed when she got back it threw her off her rhythm completely!! That seems ridiculous when she could have just changed it at courtside, like the men. Seeing a sports bra, big deal.

But having said that... I like how the US Open is changing rules quickly, as with the heat rule for men as well. Although obviously they were both stupid rules in the first place.

I love manwhohasitall. Grin

I’d love to know who’s behind it: man or woman?

Can’t believe Bascinsky was told to leave court to change yesterday though - hopefully, all the on court officials will be getting a swift talking to about equality overnight.

PrivateParkin · 30/08/2018 08:53

I love it too TheOnly Grin - I always assumed it was a woman doing it but who knows? It's hilarious anyway!

Gersemi · 30/08/2018 09:05

JaneJeffer, what's wrong with the catsuit?

PrivateParkin · 30/08/2018 09:10

Some cracking matches coming up:
Serena v Venus
Stephens v Azarenka
Wawrinka v Raonic
Shaggy v Anderson
Delpo v Verdasco
Shock

JaneJeffer · 30/08/2018 09:11

It's a hideous piece of clothing Gersemi, h-I-d-e-o-u-s.

PrivateParkin · 30/08/2018 09:12

Ooh and today:
Fed v Paire
Zverev (A) v Mahut

Raahh · 30/08/2018 09:20

Morning!

I am very pleased for Rafa- woke up and watched a bit of the second set, but fell asleep again all looked pretty straightforward.

The code violation - I missed- Dh mentioned it when he was leaving for work early on. Bloody ridiculous. I'm sure i remember an incident at a tournament where a player changed on court, with the ball boys around her holding up towels? Just daft- I mean- a sports bra covers more than most t-shirts these day! And not all men are Rafa when they take their shirts off courtside either. I don't need to see it Grin.

And as for Timea- and I'm surprised they didn't slap a time violation on her just to add insult to injury. (Unless they did).

Poor Muguruza- I was hoping she would do better. But she is not a hard court player, really.
