Then, at the rate ITV3 are screening the episodes - which cover roughly a month each week - she will arrive mid-December. Not long at all then. Hooray!

Iwantacampervan · 25/10/2018 15:42

John Thomson, first time in Corrie. He comes back later as Jesse, an entertainer and love interest of Eileen if I recall correctly!

Kannet · 01/11/2018 09:13

It's funny to see the kids bunking off to play computer games in an arcade.

Why is Deidre made out to be such a femme fataleHmm

clowdyweewee · 01/11/2018 17:13

I don't know. Even in the 90s, the perm/ big specs combo wasn't considered alluring.

kikashi · 01/11/2018 17:14

"sexy specs" as the tabloids used to refer to her.

I felt for Tracy when Deirdre dragged her into that clasroom to shout at Ken. (How out of order was it to do that?) Ahh, the seeds of a bad 'un being sown right there...

AamdC · 01/11/2018 17:52

I.mean she did have a good figure and in her early years of corrie she was quite pretty minus the huge glasses but 90,s Deidre is hardly Carla Conner for example .

AamdC · 01/11/2018 17:53

Deirdre*

clowdyweewee · 01/11/2018 18:41

I'm surprised at how slim Deirdre was. I have to say that I had a horrendous perm and big glasses in the 90s and was affectionately called Deirdre by various family members!

AamdC · 01/11/2018 19:11

I think every one had a bad perm in the late 80,s early 90,sGrinGrin

Laughing at Kev saying that Jenny would never look at him romantically...fast forward 25 years....

Holidays were relatively expensive weren't they? £1500 for a fortnight in Madeira in November, presumably half board - I'm sure it wouldn't be much more than that now.

RedLightAll · 02/11/2018 23:18

Aaaaaah Mavis' detailed and thorough packing for the holiday, leaving the corn plasters out for easy access, putting Derek's trousers in her case so they'd crease less. I have such a soft spot for her. I like how both she and Derek were wearing a silk scarf/cravate for their trip. I guess the airport was still worth dressing up for back then.
I know he's a pratt but I like Derek's scenes a lot. When he tells Mavis her trouble is that at the first sign of a problem she goes into "terminal decline".
I never liked Alec back in the day but he's great. That scene where he was showing Liz the run of the bar (and described her as crestfallen) was the best bit of telly I've seen in ages.

RedLightAll · 02/11/2018 23:19

When Mavis says Madeira sounds great - "foreign but not terrifying" (Or words to that effect)....Smile

RedLightAll · 02/11/2018 23:46

No my top lol moment was when Alec demonstrated his freaky "natural smile at all times" to Liz and told her that clothes-wise she might like to let a little more air circulate up to her chin.
He really is so funny.

TheEfficientBaxter · 04/11/2018 11:27

When do Martin and Gail move to the remaining new house?

And did Sally and Gail share the same taxi to hospital when they both went into labour on Christmas Day?

Maybe I dreamed that bit Confused!!

AamdC · 04/11/2018 12:08

I dont think so did they ,sallys baby was born on rhe corner of rosamond street naturally as ypu can never have a straight forward birth on corrie so they call her Rosie becauae of Rosamond street , how u remember rhis stuff i dont knowHmm

AamdC · 04/11/2018 12:08

Kannet · 07/11/2018 13:30

HelenaDove · 07/11/2018 16:30

kikashi · 07/11/2018 16:53

...and it was bonfire night with fireworks on round about the right day.

CoolCarrie · 07/11/2018 16:58

It was great timing!

Kannet · 07/11/2018 18:01

I noticed Percy was not wearing a poppy. Thought he would be selling them

Ontheboardwalk · 08/11/2018 23:55

When I was younger I was never a fan of Mavis. Am feeling for her this time round after her being burgled

HelenaDove · 09/11/2018 02:46

Noticing all the Christmas crackers Santas and tinsel on the top shelf of the Kabin.

It must be second or third week of November episodes by now.

Wasnt it the early 90s when they went to three episodes a week.
