The Flick actress is 30 here playing a 19 year oldShock She doesnt look 30

clowdyweewee · 13/10/2018 16:33

30 Shock

SuperSuperSuper · 13/10/2018 23:11

Flick's 15yo sister is played by a 26yo. She also looks young.

It's a bit boring ATM. Too much of the duckworths sniping at each other which I don't find entertaining. The gambling storyline was tedious. Curly is a sap.

FailPants · 15/10/2018 19:55

Yeah, hate Veras annoying voice, sick of her and Jack bickeringShock

Redglitter · 15/10/2018 21:30

I don't remember Vera being such a horrible character. She's just awful.

Mind you I don't remember Derek being such a chauvinistic sleazy pain in the arse

Bet is however lots nicer than I remember.

kikashi · 16/10/2018 17:42

Yes Red Bet is nicer than I recall. I didn't like Derek first time round or Vera and Jack and that hasn't changed. I think Vera and Jack are milder when they become older and "second parents" to Ty. I hated all the pranks that Steph and Des play on Derek, not looking forward to more of that. I definitely preferred the 1980's episodes from the past few months to these latest ones.

toldmywrath · 19/10/2018 16:49

@HeatherAKeenan your post is in the wrong thread. I hope you got some answers elsewhere.Flowers

clowdyweewee · 22/10/2018 06:38

The bloke who owns the TV repair shop was one of the coppers who appeared as part of the grooming investigation. He was also a copper in Early Doors. He hasn't changed much!

TheEfficientBaxter · 23/10/2018 12:22

Did Michael Le Vell want to lose the 'tache IRL back in 1990? Is that why Kevin hasn't grown it back yet? I don't think he would suit being clean-shaven nowadays. He looks good with his stubble, IMO. I still fancy the pants off him!

Bacteriophage · 23/10/2018 12:33

I know, he looks like a young Colin Farrell mmmmmm Halloween Grin

TheEfficientBaxter · 23/10/2018 13:14

I wish ITV3 would air some Classic Emmerdale (Farm) aswell. I seem to remember a fun storyline about when Henry Wilks and Amos Brearley bought a microwave for The Woolpack, and Amos couldn't understand why the plates didn't get hot. Anyone else remember that?

Kannet · 23/10/2018 15:14

I wish Deirdre had married Dave

OP posts:
Mc180768 · 23/10/2018 15:48

Does Liz and Jim live in what is now Eileen's house?

kikashi · 23/10/2018 16:23

Yes they do (so they do).

I dont like Dave he also wants to control Deirdre. Ken is such a big s**t. Deirdre had rotten taste in blokes, MIke Baldwin or Ken Barlow Hmm Ken is quite menacing and sinister.

kikashi · 23/10/2018 16:24

The Ken and Deirdre scenes are great though as the other story lines are a bit silly and dull at present.

AamdC · 23/10/2018 16:31

I once saw Michael Le Vell in a pantomine as buttons just before he jpined corrie he didnt have a tache than either, i wandor if he grew it especially for Corrie?

SuperSuperSuper · 23/10/2018 16:34

I think that Bill Roache is nailing it. He's menacing, very subtle, and really giving me the creeps. Good acting.

The clairvoyant storyline is dull. I normally like stuff involving Ivy/Lynne Perrie. This topic was covered really well in Upstairs Downstairs and I always tend to compare clairvoyance storylines unfavourably to that one. I'm also ready for a break from Vera who seems to have dominated recently, although I'm looking forward to the kidney donation storyline.

Laughing at "crestfallen".

clowdyweewee · 23/10/2018 17:19

Kannet Deidre did marry Dave in real life Smile

CoolCarrie · 23/10/2018 17:55

Super, everything compares badly to Upstairs, Downstairs imho, especially Downton Abby!

kikashi · 24/10/2018 11:43

Indeed CoolCarrie so true.

kikashi · 24/10/2018 11:51

I love seeing Deirdre do her big eyed, pained stare, caught slightly side on with the colossal specs and mouth slightly open.

NIce seeing LIz's beginnings as a barmaid and Alec thinking she wouldn't be a good one as she had a defeated look about her (or words to that effect). Jim is starting to show his true colours! Audrey was dreadful back then. Phyllis aptly said that Audrey was "one of life's customers" but once Audrey had the salon she has worked and is still working well past retirement she definitely changed.

CoolCarrie · 24/10/2018 19:01

Poor Bet, Martin was the name of her son that she had adopted and he did die in a car accident.

TheEfficientBaxter · 25/10/2018 13:08

When does Raquel eventually turn up? I can't wait because I only vaguely remember her first time round (too busy being a party animal in the 90s)

I imagine she and the lovely Bet had some brilliant comedy scenes - none of which I can remember at all - so I hope I'm in for a treat sometime soon!

cherrytree63 · 25/10/2018 14:05

She did have a small scene recently when her character (but not Raquel) went to look at a room Jack Duckworth wanted to rent out.

CoolCarrie · 25/10/2018 15:06

January 1991 is when Raquel turns up.
