How frustrating is it that Rita isn’t allowed to tell Derek and Mavis the real reason for not selling the Kabin Sad

SpinMill · 01/05/2019 22:34

Have just been catching up, the Rovers kitchen seemed huge, I'm sure it's nowhere near that big when we've seen it recently.

Housewife2010 · 02/05/2019 10:36

The actress who plays Dr Gadass also played a nurse when Rita was in hospital after Alan Bradley was killed by the tram in Blackpool. The Coronation Street casting directors must think that she has a very "medical" look.

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 02/05/2019 11:15

I can't really work out where the Rovers kitchen is supposed to be.

If you look at the width of the public bar room, and the compare it with the rear hallway and living room, it suggests that the kitchen can only be in a built-on side extension - which would stick out halfway across Rosamund Street if it was actually there Hmm

And I was a bit Shock to see they seem to have reused the old cupboard doors (and probably the cupboard carcases too!) No doubt another one of Alec's cost-cutting measures.....

DaveCoachesgavemetheclap · 02/05/2019 18:22

I can't believe that Des was only 27 Shock

SapatSea · 03/05/2019 08:13

It looks like they built the set for the story line and then had second thoughts and despite it being "all new" just kept what they had built to save dosh. We didn't even see the "new cooker" just Betty and Vicky leaning over something unseen.

In the past they have mentioned the pub kitchen and the living area kitchen. In current Corrie they just have a tiny galley off the living room.

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 03/05/2019 10:11

There was a very fleeting shot of the shiny new cooker, when Betty was trying to programme the timer.

I noticed it because the digital clock was flashing on and off.

x2boys · 03/05/2019 18:52

In the very old days of corrie the rovers had a large function room too Christ knows where that's goneHmm

HelenaDove · 09/05/2019 03:13

Lisa was WAYYYY out of Terrys league.

x2boys · 09/05/2019 07:08

You think Helena? Terry ,s an absolute twat, but I think he's a very attractive man imo anyway!

DixieLandReject · 10/05/2019 19:47

I think Terry is out of Lisa’s league if we are going on looks alone.

Looking forward to the impending Don/ Ivy storyline as I can’t remember it the first time round!

x2boys · 10/05/2019 20:00

Definitely Dixie GrinI'm getting to invested in this I had a dream about Terry Duckworth last night 😂

DixieLandReject · 10/05/2019 20:18

I loved Reg’s reaction when Terry got caught by the police when him and Curly were watching the CCTV!

I love Rita and Ted, Mike and Alma and Bet and Alec’s storylines.

justthecat · 10/05/2019 20:35

The weird slow motion when Terry was being caught 😲

x2boys · 10/05/2019 20:37

Love Bet and Alec it's a shame they don't last 😥such a good couple ,I love Jack and Vera too in spite of all the sniping there's a lot of love there .

Mrscaindingle · 10/05/2019 20:52

Is it just me who thinks that Emily is sour faced and not nearly as saintly as she is made out to be?
I know Percy would be irritating to live with but she's horrible to him and quite judgemental generally.

Redglitter · 10/05/2019 20:54

It's good to see Mavis standing up to drippy Derek a bit more

ConfCall · 10/05/2019 23:22

I’d forgotten that Don had reconnected with Julie. However, I had a feeling that she’d be returning to the show when Vera and Ivy were making plans to go to a club.

EdithWeston · 10/05/2019 23:33

I think there's Something Up with Emily. She's all out of character.

And as they actually developed characters, we can see this. Not like today, when personality traits are both changeable and inter-changeable.

Didn't they all have so much more to say back then.?

x2boys · 11/05/2019 09:55

Yes something's going on with Emily,is she depressed? I can't remember this story line.

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 11/05/2019 10:32

I remember Emily's storyline.

It seemed that she was developing Alzheimer's, but then, for some reason, they decided not to do it, and she miraculously got better.

Wish real life was like that Hmm

x2boys · 11/05/2019 10:50

Dementia was my first thought, but as she was still.in corrie uptill.a couple of years ago I thought depression, they did do a later story line though with Mike Baldwin so maybe this was a for, runner?

ConfCall · 11/05/2019 12:05

I don’t think it can be dementia because she was lucid in much later storylines with Freda, Spider, Ernest’s killer etc. I think it’s depression. Her comment to Sally about “other people’s childrjn” was telling.

Housewife2010 · 11/05/2019 18:34

She's having a nervous breakdown.

DaveCoachesgavemetheclap · 11/05/2019 19:39

Living with Percy Sugden would do that to most people.
