I think that Ches is in the house with the chimney breast (Brennans') but the scenes are all filmed from a different angle nowadays i.e. camera operator's back to the chimney breast.

I'm not sure though!

Sorry, I don't know how to do links. This shows who has lived where, although it's a little out of date

InterdimensionalHoleOfPancakes · 13/02/2019 16:55

Oh! Apparently links just sort themselves out Grin

Jenfur · 13/02/2019 20:51

Chesney is in Ivy's house now - the front door has the same window but has been painted. Definitely filmed from the other angle inside though, I hadn't thought about that.

Watching these for the first time as I was only little back then, it's great seeing the characters that I remember watching when I was growing up and the ones I've heard about but were before my time.

Kannet · 14/02/2019 12:24

The carnival is a fun story

I loved Reg's comments to Vera and Ivy about grasping the horn of plenty!

DaveCoachesgavemetheclap · 14/02/2019 16:43

I agree Kannet I was watching at 6am this morning, and the episode gave me a Bank Holiday feeling!!

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 15/02/2019 10:00

The recent Des and Steph storyline was beautifully done.

Especially Amelia Bullmore's performance. In the short time she was in Corrie, I think she improved so much as an actress.

I didn't appreciate how good she was when I first watched it back in 1990 (I was only twenty!) But she played it so well.

My brother's wife was doing exactly the same thing, at exactly the time Steph was, and I had to pick up the pieces of my brother's shattered life. I didn't make the connection at the time, but it's bringing it all back now, and I must have been so stupid not to realise what was going on. All the signs were there!

Anyway, he's ok now! Re-married in 2000, and still together Smile

ConfCall · 15/02/2019 11:31

I was thinking the same about Amelia Bullmore. She really blossomed as an actress in Corrie and then rightly went on to win lots of other roles. Great chemistry with Philip Middlemiss too.

Kannet · 19/02/2019 11:41

So I wonder what the long term plan was for the Alf and Audrey storyline originally was. It's obviously been cut short due to his ill health in real life

SapatSea · 21/02/2019 14:29

Now the Jim/Liz and their baby story is starting it makes the recent one with the imposter deception on current Corrie seem even more ludicrous (if that's possible).

Iwantacampervan · 22/02/2019 08:23

Gail's comments about weddings and seeing into the future and
Martin inviting everyone to their Silver Wedding celebrations!

x2boys · 22/02/2019 08:51

Indeed @Iwantacampervan! Gail is too good to Ivy, I realise Ivy,s not happy about Martin moving in and adopting Nicky and Sarah-Louise but in reality you wouldn't put up.with her crap!

Kannet · 22/02/2019 09:29

I think they are being a bit mean to ivy. It's understandable that she would want the kids to keep her sons name

OP posts:
x2boys · 22/02/2019 11:23

Yes I can understand that but she's such hard work and disapproving of everything, and how old is Nicky is he still at primary school? Can she just turn up and take him out for is lunch?

SproutsMexicain · 26/02/2019 09:39

Ivy is getting very annoying now.

SapatSea · 26/02/2019 10:10

Ivy is one bitter lady.

Gail saying that" if you knew what the future held, you'd do yourself in "to Bet in the pub . Oh Gail if only you knew. Gail looked very pretty in her dress. Alma looked fanatstic in her grey suit and black hat, a bold choice for a wedding. Wouldn't fancy sharing a room with Ken Barlow.

Love the camaradie of the neighbourhood, happiness among the gloom, not like current Corrie.

x2boys · 26/02/2019 11:52

Liz is 34, hardly an older mum whilst I realise she has older teenagers and is probably a bit shocked to be pregnant again the way everyone including the Drs are acting you would think she was 44 not 34 Hmm

SapatSea · 26/02/2019 15:02

I know, it's strange. Liz is around Gail's age I think. I had my first baby around that time (1991) and most of the women in the antenatal appointments and groups were over 30. If Bet's pregnancy ahd proceeded she would have been an "older" mum but LIz, no way.

SproutsMexicain · 26/02/2019 16:21

I had my first baby in 1989, I was 19. I then had two more, in 1992 and 1995. In my area, there were mostly young mothers, when I had my last at 25 I was the oldest in the maternity ward, I felt ancient Grin

InterdimensionalHoleOfPancakes · 26/02/2019 18:32

What happened to Vera's "dad"? I feel like I've missed something. Last I remember Jack was trying to prove he was lying because of the blood types not matching but then someone said that didn't prove anything. Then it was mentioned he'd gone home because the water was off and I don't remember seeing him since then

x2boys · 26/02/2019 22:58

Did he not go back to is flattened they had the leak?Steves.hair looks suspiciously like he's been experimenting with Sun inGrin

x2boys · 26/02/2019 22:58

His flat ffs!

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 26/02/2019 23:31

Sun In! OMG I remember that stuff!

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 28/02/2019 23:24

What's happened to Len Fairclough's yard/commercial space, belonging to Rita? Terry Duckworth and Curly had it for a while. And Alan Bradley used it for his security business.

There's never any mention of it now, is there?
