and the frumpy clothes.... Just watched the wedding, Jackie's friend who must have been around her age group dressed like a woman in her 60s!

I don't think women in their 60s dress like that any more!

I just had to join this thread to say how fabulous Alma was. I loved her as a child and thought she was stunning and watching her again now brings it all back just how brilliant a character she was. The attitude. I love it.

Deirdre can't be more than mid 30,s and she's all nylon frocks and pastel jackets I don't recall fashion being that bad in the way 90,s?

Every time I see Phil Jennings, it looks like he's breaking in a new set of teeth. Jackie also talks with her teeth clenched. Agree about the frumpy clothes. They must have all ordered from the same catalogue.

Or M&S ,they sold very frumpy clothes back in the or BHS ,my sister used to work as a Saturday girl in BHS in the late 80,s early 90,s even the uniform was frumpy.

I was a bit when Phil told Deirdre she looked stunning.

Maybe tight perms were considered stunning back in the early 90,s? I really don't recall this being the case but maybe in weatherfield ??

I would've had Jacqui down for a woman in her mid forties. I think maybe her voice ages her as well.

Yeah Jackie and Alma look around the same age and the actress that played Alma was probably about twenty years older than the actress that played Jackie .

And much more attractive - amazing eyes and bone structure. Jacqui will not age as well, I think.

Good grief. Id never have believed there were 20 years between them. They look a very similar age.

I’ve just checked, there are exactly 20 years between the two actresses. I would have guessed maybe 5, 10 years at a push!

The factory was demolished and the row of new houses, the newsagents and flat plus the building which is currently the charity shop, but I assume will be eventually Audrey's Salon, were built. Ivy now works at Bettabuys, the local supermarket - is this now Freshco's ?

They died in a car crash in Whitby whilst at Sandra’s ( Vicky mum and Alec’s daughter) mums funeral.

Oh wow, Roy Barraclough and Julie Goodyear are nailing this bereavement storyline. I think that Chloe Newsome is very good as Vicky too.

Lynne Perrie was disparaging of Chloe Newsome in her autobiography, saying that she was an arrogant know-all. Reading between the lines, Chloe didn't bow and scrape to her.

Bryan Mosley had a heart attack in 1991 didn't he? He ended up returning part-time I think.

Percy is a perfidious devil, putting potential buyers off. His scene in the cafe with Alma was great, Bill Waddington was wonderful.
