Audrey and Mrs Barford fighting over Alf,

I just wanted to jump on the thread to say how much I'm enjoying Classic Corrie. It's had me in stitches - it's so funny!

In particular, Alec talking about Alf and his "affair" and saying something like he would be surprised if Alf was some kind of sex maniac cruising the back streets of Weatherfield in his Montego!

And Alf and Ken arguing and fighting inthe pub about the poster in Ken's window. Comedy gold!

Been meaning to say, doesn't Angie Freeman look exactly like Catherine Middleton facially? I think it every time I see her

What's Derek up to? I haven't seen it for a couple of days.

Mavis has been feeding him parsnips, because she read an article saying that they would make him a bit more "amorous". He then grabbed a cleaners bum

I don't think Derek has it in him to be sleazy I blame the.parsnips!!

and Mavis is blaming herself instead of being furious at Derek!

I am a bit behind with my Corries at the moment. Classic Emmerdale starts today, not sure at what point though, don't think it is right at the very beginning

As predicted it has started with the arrival of the tates. Think this was the start of the new era anyway

The writing really was so much better back then, loved Mavis calling Des’s boat “ a behemoth! A wooden whale” fabulous!

Derek and Mavis were quite poetic in their speech.

All the characters seemed much more articulate back then. Modern day Corrie is definitely dumbed down, but its only watching the old ones that's made me realise just how much. The comedy is subtle and wonderful too. Its all slapstick rubbish these days.

God Dereks a horrible character. Didn't see anything wrong with the way he sexually harassed the woman at work and then tried blaming her. Now all this stuff with the boat the way he talks to and treats Mavis is awful

I laughed for ages at Alf calling Reg bicycle face!
Really felt for Alma when she was talking with Mike.

I am so far behind, Steve has just stayed on the boat overnight and the parsnip story is happening. Hopefully I will be able to catch up but I've started watching Classic Emmerdale now too which isn't going to help

What's happened to Joss? Did I miss his exit or was he just written out?

He went home when the water went off. We didn't see it but Jack was moaning about him clearing off rather than sticking around and putting up with no water

I missed a few episodes. Was ivy sacked from Ingrams? I always thought that working at Alfs would be quite cushy

I can't gat over how young the actress who played Jackie was. It's been mentioned earlier in the thread, but she was only about 35. I think it's the hair that makes her look older.
