Where they only just "discover" at Monica and chandlers wedding that Joey has "freakishly small feet!"

7 years of living all together as friends and they just discover this now!

Is there anything which bothers you about the show or is it just me?

I was always confused how Rachel didn't know chandler yet in the episodes with their teenage video tapes, chandler was Ross's best friend and clearly met Rachel as a teenager
Yes! This always really bothers me too!

I deal with the Rachel/Chandler inconsistency by assuming that Rachel was just so vacuous as a teen/early 20s that she just didn't register Chandler and therefore didn't remember him when reintroduced in the pilot (even though they kissed at Ross's college party but I can't remember if that was a flash back or 'could have been' episode)

I loved Chandler with his "Flock of Seagulls" hairstyle.Its so funny

Groove I forgot about the beach house episode when Rachel starts seeing the dad and Ross the student. It makes me cringe and I always skip those episodes, especially that Beach one

Rachel's career always seemed very unrealistic too. She left waitressing in series 3 and by series 7 (so in just 4 years) she has her own office with an assistant at Ralph Lauren.

I don't know if anyone working in the fashion industry could say whether or not that could realistically happen without some serious hours and effort put in.

You mean actual work instead of drinking coffee and flirting?

Ross and Chandler were college room mates, so Rachel would only have met Chandler if Chandler came to visit Ross at home or Rachel visited Ross (with Monica, presumably) at college. Remember in the days before mobiles and Facebook, the likelihood of seeing photos of people who are friends of a friend was much smaller than now

Rachel and Monica's friendship is definitely inconsistent though. When Rachel turns up at the bar with Mindy and her other friends, she has clearly lost touch with Monica for some time, to the extent that they don't recognise each other straight away.

But flash backs tell us that Rachel and Monica got ready for the prom together (ie were best best friends)

But comments are made about Rachel being promiscuous as a teen and Monica still being a virgin

But then there are flashbacks where they go to house parties together

In fact - dredges memory - wasn't it a house party where Ross thinks he kissed Rachel, but it was in fact Monica (under a pile of coats)?

@likeido1 I don't think it's realistic! My friend and flatmate used to work for Richards (if you remember them), she had a degree, she was smart, hardworking, loved fashion, her idea of a big thrill at work was to be allowed to be the standard model that they tried clothes samples on once in a while. For about 3 years she entered codes in to the computer. I don't think it was worse than any other job, but despite being dynamic, attractive and clever, her rise to the top ............ well, she left.

Kind of like pheobe being able to keep her manhattan apart during times where she was offering people free massages on the street due to loosing her job. Or joey being an out of work actor but still affording to rent his apartment when chandler left and Rachel and Monica being able to live where they lived (all be it sub letted) and buy designer clothes on a chef and waitress salary.

No wonder a generation grew up thinking they could have a champagne lifestyle on beer money!!

The apartment was her grandma's. I assume she was rent free?

Definitely about Monica and Rachel. How old are they when they go to prom? 18? In the coffee house when Rachel burst in after leaving Barry at the alter she was about 25/26?

I don't think they were rent free? I'm sure they mentioned bills and rent at some point during the series?

In one of the last episodes Chandler says the apartment was a 'frigging steal' due to rent control.

Rachel seems to be pregnant forever. Monica's wedding is in May or June (Mat I think) so Rachel got pregnant around April. She is still pregnant the following Valentines Day, and when she has the baby there seems to be a heatwave, so not Feb/Mar.

The thing that I really don't get - Chandler gets a cleaner for Monica, and they both sit at home all day while she cleans the already spotless apartment. It makes no sense...

Phoebes lasagne was veggie, Monica specifically said so.

Chandler paid joeys rent.

Monica borrowed money from Ross when she lost her job.

The girls flat was really the gellers grandmothers and was rent controlled.

Phoebes flat was also her grans.

Rachel is meant to be 24 at the start.

Their ages are inconsistent throughout but Rachel was always the baby.

They had to make phoebe pregnant quickly as she was pregnant irl. She was actually a virgin irl at the start.

I hate the episode where Monica catches Chandler watching ‘shark porn’. I find it so stupid that she actually believes he’s turned on by sharks.

I also found it odd that they made Monica and chandler adopt yet Courtney cox was pregnant in real life so could have easily made them have a baby in the show.
