Where they only just "discover" at Monica and chandlers wedding that Joey has "freakishly small feet!" Confused

7 years of living all together as friends and they just discover this now!

Is there anything which bothers you about the show or is it just me? Grin

The ridiculous way Ross character develops in one of the series wound me up, when he uses the tanning booth but doesn't know when to turn, the leather trousers he's stuck in the girls bathroom as he can't get them back up and the really white teeth... in any of those scenarios surely you'd just explain what had happened to you

Givemeallyourcucumber · 29/07/2018 20:48

It has aged terribly... so many sexist, homophobic jokes that just wouldn't be funny or acceptable today

I agree that it would never be made in 2018. But I still think it's hilarious!

HaroldsSocalledBluetits · 29/07/2018 20:52

It's perfectly acceptable for non woke-bores.

Shortstuff08 · 29/07/2018 20:52

To be fair, I had been having sex with Dp for 9 months before I realised he had small feet. We had even been on holiday together.

I only actually found put because he asked me to pick him up some socks while I was in Primark and I had to phone him asked what size he needed because could only see up to an 11. His sister was with me and she said 'Yeah he will have huge feet, an 11 won't fit him.

He is a big bloke. 6ft 5. Massive shoulders, hands etc. I guess I always assumed he had big feet.

Sashh

I thithink got it was implied that Rachel hadn’t invited Monica to her wedding bec

Sevendown · 29/07/2018 20:56

Sorry!

Because she was the embarrassing fat friend and Ross had a crush on her?

StealthPolarBear · 29/07/2018 21:00

Georgie that time line never seemed right, but I could never put my finger on it, thank you!

Sashh I thought they were friends but had lost touch while Rachel became friends with the rich women with the 80s hairdos and presumably Mindy. I did think her moving in with Monica quite that fast was a bit odd.

RosaMallory · 29/07/2018 21:00

How Rachel was introduced to Chandler, after he hit on her in the coffeehouse, but she didn't recognise him from those Thanksgivings, even when he lost his toe!

Tropicana123 · 29/07/2018 21:02

I hate the one with cousin Cassie. And Ross goes to kiss her Confused I don't even watch that episode it annoys me so much and I'm a massive friends fan!

ProfessorMoody · 29/07/2018 21:11

It was in one of the Friends fact books I used to own.

Wow, if you think a size 16 is REALLY fat, that's pretty fucked up.

StealthPolarBear · 29/07/2018 21:12

American 16 would be a UK 20

AWomanIsAnAdultHumanFemale · 29/07/2018 21:20

The dancing photo isn’t a flashback, it’s the “how things could have been” episode. The other two are flashback to when Monica was a teenager.

I think it’s very clearly set in a much more forgiving pre-binge watching era, where you could get away with forgetting details from a few seasons ago quite easily. The canned laughter has dated it more than the non-PC humour, I find, but it’s still funny.

Secretsquirrel101 · 29/07/2018 21:27

When Monica is as excited as the others to watch Ross's 'accidental' video of him and Rachel shagging! Wtf?!

ShirleyPhallus · 29/07/2018 21:31

When Monica is as excited as the others to watch Ross's 'accidental' video of him and Rachel shagging! Wtf?!

She very definitely says “no.... not the sex bit, just the bit leading up to it!”

Secretsquirrel101 · 29/07/2018 21:32

Why would you want to watch that of your brother tho? The whole thing was weird.

ninnypoo · 29/07/2018 21:41

The one that always annoys me (watched this episode earlier)

Is where Phoebe meets the sous chef and asks if he's Monica's boss and he explains that sous is French for under. She's meant to be fluent in French!!

HarshingMyMellow · 29/07/2018 21:48

Thinking about it now there were so many irritating things in the show.

  • Ross finding his own cousin so attractive that he wanted to have sex with her.
  • The fact the neither Ross nor Monica had anything remotely Jewish in their weddings. Ross even got married in a church/chapel!
  • Rachel taking Emily's ticket for the honeymoon. No name change or anything!
  • Ben just disappearing after Emma was born.

I could go on. Still love the show though Grin

LunaTrap · 29/07/2018 21:55

Eyedrops that always annoys me too. Not only are they now in different outfits but the Christmas tree is also gone, despite it being 2 weeks before New Year that they kissed, in the time it takes Joey to walk across the hall Xmas is over!

AmateurSwami · 29/07/2018 22:08

The way Emma is barely mentioned in the episodes where Rachel is moving to Paris for work, and isn’t in the last scene at all

HelloGabriel · 29/07/2018 22:23

When Rachel hugs Mark instead of Ross, after he tells her she's got the job. She met him what, two days prior??

Who the fuck would leave their OH hanging like that?

I know Ross isn't popular on here but come on...

EachandEveryone · 29/07/2018 23:35

I watched it yesterday for the first time in 15 years. I couldnt be be bothered to switch it over so i watched at least five episodes. And i laughed. Who played Chandlers dad? That bit hadnt aged at all infact, it was before its time having a trans parent. Its all the rage now!

When Rachel has her hair shorter is that when she was married to Brad? She has hardly aged.

dustarr73 · 29/07/2018 23:39

Who played Chandlers dad? That was Kathleen Turner

detdet · 30/07/2018 22:11

Anything to do with childbirth now annoys me on that show.

Carol having a baby and her ex husbands mates are there? Imagine the outrage on MN Shock

Triplets? Birthing them normally after waters breaking at Monica's flat... not prem at all.

Erica not knowing she has twins? Then Monica and Chandler just get to keep 2. Home On the same day.

I'm sure Rachel's labour and Emma's birth annoyed me too!

coragreta · 30/07/2018 22:58

Actually Rachel's labour was good because it was long although she wasn't in nearly enough pain leading up to 10cm
