So the US Open started about 20 mins ago and I'm already annoyed with Amazon - Kyle Edmund is playing but all I'm getting is an annoying message (and music) saying live broadcasting"begins shortly". Waits....

Ok it's appeared. Sam Smith and Annabel commentating on Halep, who's 4-1 down already!

As I only have terrestrial tv, I will again be relying on this thread to keep me abreast of events, aided by the latest scores /results pages. Reading up thread, aahh, those nostalgic days of ceefax, esp when you were on page 15 of 18, it refreshed and took you right back to page 1
Btw, has anyone seen the photo on Andy Murray's instagram page of him practicing shirtless? Not quite Rafa, but certainly in good shape! Fingers crossed it translates to the court

Have only just discovered that amazon prime means I can watch the US Open. Moaned at DH when I could only find Halep but found other courts and Kyle Edmund

Prime coverage is annoying me already, did they really have to hire Greg?

kazza ceefax was great. There was even a Ceefax 'soap opera'- or it might have been on teletext.
I was quite sad when it ceased to exist.

I am just about to see if I can Prime to work...

Ok- so, how do I watch other matches? I like Simone, but I might like to watch something else.

Miranda I've also managed to work out how to see the other courts - 3 others is all I can see though. Not that I'm going to move away from Halep atm though.

Ah Ceefax!! I don't remember the soap opera Raahh but I do remember Glug's Jokes!!

I can't figure out how to change matches, this is frustrating.

I remember joke of the day on ceefax, my brother and I used to find them hysterical.

Ok, so the reason I couldn't change court, was because play hasn't started on Arthur Ashe yet.

I really hope Halep doesn't lose this- it will really set her back- she had got her confidence back at the French- then Wimbledon was a bit of nightmare for her, and now, it would seem, is this.

Private I hate to give him the credit, but it was dh who pointed it out. Which is a bugger.

(But it's still not the most user friendly thing so far- and that includes having to faff around with red buttons at Wimbledon, and being restricted to one match at a time at RG).

Halep's skirt/ dress thing is very odd. It's kind of hanging off- like a wrap around towel/toga

So, I've made the mistake of switching over to the Stan match, which took so long, and wasn't straightforward, that I won't be messing about going back to the Halep match.

I can see this is going to be a long fortnight. And I'm going to get cross. A lot.

I am just going to rely on the live scores & you lot - who are far more fun than any commentator.

What's the picture quality like from Amazon - do they have lots of cameras & different angles?

I always think the BBC do Wimbeldon so well in that way.

magi the cameras for the Halep match might as well have been at the top of the Empire State Building they were so high up

magi Picture quality is not great. It might be my tv. But it seems to be fuzzy and flicker. Might be better on a smaller screen/tv.
