Yes, he did wrap it up pretty quickly.

Plays Goffin next, I was a bit surprised he beat Anderson. That should be another good match, if either of them are capable of running round at all, that is Hmm

It's mad holding such a huge tournament with no roof these days!

JaneJeffer · 17/08/2018 20:15

Is this Roger's second match today? I'm all confused now!

Raahh · 17/08/2018 20:34

No, he will have to play Stan later, he earlier beat Fucsovics.

OP posts:
Raahh · 17/08/2018 20:35

But it is certainly confusing Jane Grin

It is a bit confusing - must be hard playing two competitive matches in a day. Roger might be feeling his age after today.

PrivateParkin · 17/08/2018 21:28

It's nuts. Let's hope the organisers read MN and pick up on Jane rock paper scissors idea ASAP!

I really want to watch Stan v Roger, sounds like such a blast from the past! But it's not on until about 3am here (I think).

I see Delpo is getting a lot of stick for his long bathroom break!

PrivateParkin · 17/08/2018 22:52

So much toilet break talk on sky at the mo! Milos has nipped to the loo after losing the first set. Apparently he once took a 13-minute bathroom break. I would absolutely hate it if stats were kept on the length of my bathroom breaks!! These tennis players have a lot to deal with IMHO...

Earlier during the Delpo match, Greg was saying Delpo should have just gone to the public toilets as they were the nearest!! Yeah right! Grin

Raahh · 18/08/2018 11:03

Toilet talk is a new low. Grin

Shame about Stan- he has been unlucky this week and last to come up against first Rafa, and then Federer. He seems to be playing a lot better though.

I'm sad that Juan lost.

Raahh I know - even AC would draw the line at that!

I didn't see either of those matches but Goffin is in great form, and he'd had a quick match earlier in the day, so not much of a surprise I suppose. I do like him anyway and he deserves a bit of luck after the freakish injuries he's had. Still not sure what's going on with JMDP's wrist, I hope he's ok.

Totally agree about Stan, he could be a real threat at the US Open (unless he draws a top player early on) as he'll be unseeded won't he? I'd love to see him Stanimal-ing his way through the draw.

Cincinnati semis look good though. Cilic is another one looking good, and Djokovic was absolutely mad for it when he won last night, so he looks pretty keen as well. I haven't seen much of Roger - but both SFs could go either way I think.

Raahh · 18/08/2018 11:31

Private Djok really wants to win this one, to be the only one to have won all the masters titles, so he is definitely fired up I think. But I'd like Cilic to win.

I am really hoping Stan gets a good draw at the US open, and can end the year on a high.
Apparently Federer had a bit of a spat with the umpire during the match, something about a missed line call.

I'm hoping Goffin wins his semi.

Poor Stan. I wonder how Roger is feeling after two matches. Must be tiring even for him!

They were on about the toilets the other night as well as apparently it takes ages to walk to them and saying they should have some nearer the court. You wouldn't want to wait till you're bursting Grin

Raahh · 18/08/2018 11:54

Maybe they need some strategic bushes...

Grin

Very bad planning on behalf of the tournament there.

OP posts:
magimedi · 18/08/2018 12:19

Maybe they need some of the Paris style urinals!!

Love reading all your comments on the tennis - really brings it alive when all I can get are the scores.

Raahh · 18/08/2018 12:31

oh wow, those urinals, magiGrin

OP posts:
PrivateParkin · 18/08/2018 12:38

Magi those uritrottoirs!! Grin

JaneJeffer · 18/08/2018 13:18

magi !! what are women supposed to do, crouch down behind them? Grin

magimedi · 18/08/2018 13:21

Jane French women don't ever need to wee!

JaneJeffer · 18/08/2018 13:23

Is that the follow up to French women don't get fat?

Raahh · 18/08/2018 13:24

I'd be a useless French woman .Grin

OP posts:
JaneJeffer · 18/08/2018 13:26

I'd be good at it, wine, cheese, cigarettes. Ah oui...

PrivateParkin · 18/08/2018 13:28

Raahh · 18/08/2018 13:34

I like wine.

But I'm too short and dumpy to be a French woman. I very much suit being a Northern BritGrin.

OP posts:
Fizzywinegum · 18/08/2018 15:05

Yikes those Paris urinals are scary! The only French thing about me is my love of cheese and wineGrin!

Greg Rusedski was talking about toilet breaks the other day - went well with the swimwear discussion! We definitely need Andrew Castle back to raise the tone!

The semis should be interesting - everyone must be knackered.

Kyrgios was berating the umpire the other day (quelle surprise!) apart a bad line call. He was saying that bad calls were costing him thousands and he wasn’t playing tennis just for the fun off it.

PrivateParkin · 18/08/2018 17:43

Thought people might like to see this if you haven't already - Djokovic couldn't find his car when he got back to the car park!! I would expect ed have a chauffeur waiting for him! Grin
Novak

Fizzywinegum · 18/08/2018 18:02

That’s funny Private Smile. So the players have to walk miles to the toilets and have to drive themselves there and back - sounds like a great tournament!
