Watched last episode of LOST last night

at the end the apparently made contact with the boat
however, ben suggested and someone else confirmed that the ship was nothing to do with desmond's penny and that the parachutist was not who she said she was

God now I am even more confused, and I thought it was getting clearer. The first reference to Jack's father I completely missed, and the perscription one I assumed was a lie to get the pills. WTF is going on????
There has to be an element of time travel in it, maybe jack got his dad back from the past? Wierder and wierder.
I think the third group who are going to appear on the island are fromt he boat, and there is goign to be one hell of a war then maybe they get off on the boat? Obviously they are going to leave at some point.

That "future" is definately not a real future.

Either in as much as it isn't "our" world, or in as much as it doesn't/hasn't/never will have been going to be happening kind of way.

Jack's father was alive (even drunk he wouldn't be stupid enough to use a dead man's prescription pad).

I very much doubt it is the past what with the "golden ticket" for the flights.

Charlie - why the hell didn't they put on the diving equipment and then good vibrations??? It had been seen that he would drown, so take the precautions. No sympathy for the daft little hobbit.

Has Kate slept with Jack at all (thinking about the pregnancy thing)?

Why didn't Rousseau die after having Alex? I don't understand why they have never taken her for tests.

Parachute woman - not to do with Penny, but not sure if she is bad, or just bad for Ben.

dh stopped watching lost and the end of series two and i have persuaded him to watch series three....he is going to watch the first one tonight.....thnking about watching the whole lot again now that i know

oooh Flame I was going to say about Jack's dad being alive in the flash forward.

Am also very annoyed about the way Charlie's death was written. There is no way that he needed to die and several ways in which that grenade didn't need to kill him.

1. Having already turned the machine off he could have come out the room and locked the door from the other side (there was a wheel lock on the other side of the door). 2.There would have been an air bubble left in the room due to the fact the room was pressurised.
2. When the water had stopped pouring in he could have escaped out of the porthole (using air left in the room until the last minute). 4.Use the Scuba diving equipment as Flame said.

Rousseau wouldn't have died as she was pregnant before she came to the island. It is only those who get pregnant on the island that have a problem - remember Juliet trying to work out SUn's dates?

Also when they first met R she talked about the illness on the island (how she lost everyone in her group) and seemed to be referring to some kind of madness - anything to do with JAcob?

Think charlie didnt run out because desmond had told him he had to die for everyone else to be rescued. He locked himself in to make sure he did die, or at least thats what I thought it was!

Not sure I would have taken Desmond's word for it!

Good point about R though. I've been thinking about the madness too...

Agree with mammajo about Charlie. I think Walt was a hallucination the way Jack saw his dad on the island and Kate saw a horse. I didn't twig that Jack's dad was actually still alive - I assumed he was rambling but actually it makes more sense that there is some kind of time travel thing going on. It fits with Richard not aging. Do you realise the next series isn't being shown until February!!!!!

Jack didn't have a tatoo in the 'future flashes' and he also referred to his dad in a present-tense.

You never see them get off the Island and the woman who recues them said she knew Desmond, but Penny didn't have a clue about any boat.

My husband told me about the tatoo - he was told about it on another forum. We downloaded them so i'll have to watch them again.

They never refer to the island specifically when in the "future". Jack talks about "going back" but not to the island.

Have just watched as recorded last night !! Am even more cofused than ever now??? When is the next series out???

It doesn't air in the US until February!

They are showing it later so that they can run it straight through without the usual long breaks. However, the next 3 seasons are only going to be 16 episodes long so even though it doesn't start 'til February, it still finishes in May!

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, haven't read the whole thread.

But Jack's beard was black, his stubble however is grey, I know this, I have looked. I am quite sad really.

The finale, apart from poor Charlie, was a bit boring really, too much Jack.

lodger noticed the beard/stubble thing - was a bit odd.
