at magi's request here is the first grass thread ( we will probably need more than one!).

Can't believe it time for Queen's again. Hope the weather holds out- bit gloomy in the north west.Grin

( can't link to other thread as on my phone).

See you all later- the only thing I'm not looking forward to is the likelihood it will be Mr Castle in the commentary box.Grin

Oh no I missed the luge - sounded good!

Also missed out on ACs picnic tipsGrin. Yes I think he would be perfectly happy to natter on about nothing as long as the other person occasionally smiled and nodded.

I need to evict my eldest DS from the settee soon so I can watch some tennis. Soon there will be tennis, footy and Tour de France wars in our house.

PrivateParkin · 19/06/2018 14:28

Me too! That grass looks a bit slippy. I fear for Andy out there.

Djokovic next. I like John Millman* so I'll definitely be supporting him.

*My phone tried to auto correct that to Milkman Grin

Fizzywinegum · 19/06/2018 14:40

I’ll support anyone against Djokovic Private but milkman sounds interesting Smile

Hope the grass isn’t too slippy for Murray - looking forward to seeing him back.

Might reclaim the settee then and just have Djokovic match on while I potter about. Not too keen on just sitting and watching Djokovic - don’t really like his style of play.

Raahh · 19/06/2018 14:48

Thing is, I don't like the watching either Murray or Djokovic, so I'm a bit miffed really that the afternoon is all about them now.

All these players in the turquoise really didn't check how it would look against the Fever Tree back boards, did they? Grin.

I know Raahh they keep disappearing against the blue.

I know what you mean about watching Murray - I’m just looking forward to seeing him back after being out of the game for so long. I hope he doesn’t start moaning and complaining straight away though.

JaneJeffer · 19/06/2018 14:56

Milkman the master of disguise. Djok will be looking around thinking where'd he go?

Raahh · 19/06/2018 14:58

That's why I can't watch him, I've never taken to him. When things don't go his way, he finds things to moan about. I get how good he is, and he's funny off court, but on court, he annoys me.

At least there are no over head cameras at Queen's to get on his nerves Grin.

But, and I feel this way about any player (even NovakGrin), I hate players to end their career because of injury or illness, like Soderling did- I think they should be able to retire on their own terms. Even if some players stay on too long, and fade away a bit.

Could be a plan Jane Grin

Raahh · 19/06/2018 14:59

And now I have to go and do various school run things.

Fizzy I had to suffer the England match on two different tellies last night, one on RTE and the other on BBC!

Fizzywinegum · 19/06/2018 15:05

The plan isn’t working - Djokovic doing well.

I agree Raahh - Murray does only start moaning when things aren’t going his way - it doesn’t do him any favours at all. He does seem like a nice bloke off court though and hope he can come back from his injury.

I’ve decided to take to the settee anyway - the housework can wait Grin

Fizzywinegum · 19/06/2018 15:08

jane that sounds bad! My DH is going out to watch the next England match in the pub as apparently I’m not a good footy watching companion - that plan worked then! I can watch the queen’s final in peace.

Raahh · 19/06/2018 15:13

just got to school, checked the scores, and saw that Novak isn't hanging around.

Milkman needs a new plan.

I saw the luge earlier and what impressed me most was that the chap's hair (sorry, can't remember how to spell his name Confused ) still looked immaculate afterwards! If I went under the net, having already played a fair bit of tennis anyway, I would have emerged looking like I'd been pulled through a hedge net backwards Grin

PrivateParkin · 19/06/2018 15:27

kazza I know! Same here. But he just sprang up as if nothing had happened! You've got to admire that!!

kazzaD66 · 19/06/2018 15:38

I can't stand it when Mohammed Liani umpires. He draws every syllable out like it's all about him! I'm sure he never used to be this bad but once you notice it, you can't ignore it Angry

Fizzywinegum · 19/06/2018 15:43

Just googled the luge - very impressive - his hipster hair didn’t move one bit!

Djokovic still doing the cringy heart thing at the end of his match.

Fizzywinegum · 19/06/2018 15:46

Djokovic was quite gracious in his post match interview.

Raahh · 19/06/2018 15:46

I think they should have awarded Dzumhur points for artistic merit, like in ice skating. It was very impressive.

It's when Djok does the whooshy thing with his arms towards the crowds at the end, to get them to cheer. I want to scream.

It's not as annoying as the ear thing he did at RG though. I never forgive him for the ear thing.

I like Mohammed umpiring because there's often some kind of ructions over his calls which can be entertaining.
