at magi's request here is the first grass thread ( we will probably need more than one!).

Can't believe it time for Queen's again. Hope the weather holds out- bit gloomy in the north west.Grin

( can't link to other thread as on my phone).

See you all later- the only thing I'm not looking forward to is the likelihood it will be Mr Castle in the commentary box.Grin

In all my excitement, trying to watch half a dozen matches at once,

Raahh - I was just the same! Like a kid in a sweet shop. Had to watch Wimbledon Today in order to ground myself!

Hope I can behave in a more decorus fashion tomorrow!

Raahh · 02/07/2018 22:00

I don't mind John Lloyd

however- if he starts calling Kyrgios 'box office' again I will change my mind. Grin

magi tomorrow is even worse! I will be tied in knots Grin

Rafa, Halep, Garbine, Delpo, Baghdatis is playing Thiem!

And that's just for starters.

Schwartzman is playing, Goffin is playing Ebden (another player who pushed Roger the other week) Deliciano is in action. And Novak.

It's set to be a good day. Grin

Ooh great lovely, cuddly Baghdatis. Can't wait!

Raahh · 02/07/2018 22:17

Marcos has always been one of my favourites, and a bit of an under achiever. I love watching him.

JaneJeffer · 02/07/2018 22:19

There's loads on tomorrow I want to watch. I'll have to choose wisely but how?!

Fizzywinegum · 02/07/2018 22:24

Having missed most of today’s tennis I am going to be firmly fixed to the settee tomorrow - can’t wait to see Rafa, Delpo, Baghdatis v Thiem.

PrivateParkin · 02/07/2018 22:25

Raahh me too. I was in Australia when he made the Aus Open final (all those years ago now!) and everyone was absolutely mad for him!! Its sort of stuck with me ever since. It's such a shame he didn't really live up to that promise as much as expected. Such a good player to watch though.

I fear for Thiem at Wimbledon. Surely after that clay season he's got to run out of steam at some point? (Watch as he now goes on to win the entire thing - Parkin's Pathetic Predictions.)

Tomorrow is looking amazing - for grounds pass holders, they could see some brilliant stuff on 2 and 3! Really looking forward to it.

I don't mind John Lloyd too much either - I prefer him to some former British players now commentating anyway!..

PrivateParkin · 02/07/2018 22:27

DS's school has inconsiderately arranged sport day for tomorrow afternoon Hmm so I'll definitely miss some play. So annoying - they do this every year!

JaneJeffer · 02/07/2018 22:40

Gulbis is also playing tomorrow.

Raahh · 02/07/2018 22:46

Fortunately, this year dd2's sports day is the 18th.

Ds/Dd1's is Wednesday- but it's secondary- so no involvement required from meGrin.

OP posts:
Raahh · 02/07/2018 22:49

I've always liked Gulbis- another under achiever, though.

Mine used to have the school fete on ladies finals day Shock
But as I was the treasurer I'd hole myself up in my counting office with it streaming on my phone Grin Twas better than nothing!

I like Baghdatis too.

Didn't everyone push Federer last week? Wink

Raahh · 03/07/2018 07:10

Well, my day has been completely ruined thrown into disarray as dh's planned work trip doesn't appear to happening. (today at least).

So long as he isn't a) planning on me feeding him or b) expecting to take over the tv to watch the football. Grin.

I hate it when this happens. I had everything nicely planned. (In other words, I had no plans). Grin

I wonder who they will have flossing this morning? I've love to see Baghdatis doing it.

I can't imagine Rafa would be much of a floss-er, bless him.

Some of the women, I think, might be excellent. Halep for example, looks like she could be good. I bet Heather Watson does as mean flossGrin.

Fizzywinegum · 03/07/2018 08:47

I’m hoping for some flossing as well Raahh Grin. I bet the players are practising their flossing skills. Can’t imagine Roger flossing either (he’s probably taking professional lessons!)

PrivateParkin · 03/07/2018 09:16

I reckon Fognini would be a good flosser!! Grin

Looking forward to so many matches today. As well as Thiem v Baghdatis, Kerber v Zvonareva should be good. Zvonareva is a mum IIRC?? There are a few in the draw this year, which is fab.

PrivateParkin · 03/07/2018 09:17

Raahh sorry to hear about your disrupted plans!! I hate it when that happens!

Raahh · 03/07/2018 09:27

Foggy flossing would be great. Grin

I'm expecting lots of phone calls to disrupt things today as well, which won't please me either.

(I'm a bit grumpy today Grin).

BagelGoesWalking · 03/07/2018 11:00

I really hope Heather Watson manages to up her game. I think she could have won her match at Eastbourne, she just didn't seem to take the initiative when her opponent was faltering. Looking forward to matches today.

Raahh · 03/07/2018 11:10

Am I the only one imagining a bunch if mn-ers secretly trying to floss in their bedrooms? Grin

(I have no co-ordination, and dd1 has given up trying to teach me to do itGrin).

OP posts:
MirandaWest · 03/07/2018 11:20

I tried flossing. It wasn’t good Grin

JaneJeffer · 03/07/2018 11:30

They're even flossing on Daily Politics. When will it end?

JaneJeffer · 03/07/2018 11:32

The queue is huge.

Raahh · 03/07/2018 11:45

I'm waiting for 'flash mob' style flossing on finals day.
During the match.

Wimbledon will then ban it. Grin

Raahh · 03/07/2018 11:50

Flossing for me is like patting your head and rubbing your stomach the same time.

In other words, it doesn't work. And makes me dizzy. Grin

Anyway- Delpo in action. looking lovely in white.

Playing Gojowczyk , who has had a pretty good year, really.
