Not all players have the luxury, or are able to do it. Roger (and now Rafa) can, if they want to- without being injured.

Other players cannot - without damaging their ranking, losing income, and possibly ruining their career. Roger did it near the end of his career- and could afford to do it. He ticks all the applicable boxes to be able to skip tournaments if he wants to, because of his age, the number of match wins he has, his length of time on tour. And he can afford to. Not because he's so much cleverer and better organised than all other players. Other players DON'T HAVE THE LUXURY.

Obviously, history will probably show a straight sets win, but Rus has pushed her, and hasn't looked intimidated from what I've seen.

Tsitsipas lost the 3rd set, and it 5 games all in the 4th, after Stefanos raced ahead with the first 2 sets.

I am very happy to see Stan looking bouncy and a lot more awake than he was when he played Queens. Where he looked knackered after half a set .

dreary Welcome! For future, the tennis threads are always here, all year around, in telly addicts. When we fill one up, we always try to link to to the next one. Usually.

In all my excitement, trying to watch half a dozen matches at once, I missed the end of the Tsitsipas match.
