Agree the Louise storyline was handled badly. I think she made a stand against paying the parking fees and then presumably the fines wracked up quickly. HOWEVER, as a singleton she still shouldn't have needed to rely on a food bank. (It would have been more realistic if it had happened to a nurse with a family). Maybe she was just supposed to be super bad with money management?

Didn't see her resignation coming but yet again just how did she leave with no notice to work?

Didn't Connie say it didn't seem like a random attack? I think the car alarm going off was done on purpose by the 'perp' to get her outside. I suspect too that she's been 'spooked' by it and over the coming weeks it will impact on her and we may be drip fed clues as to the assailant.

purpleme12 · 17/02/2019 09:11

Yes I couldn't believe that she was saying that while the daughter was stood with the dad!

OddBoots · 17/02/2019 09:21

I think it is just as reasonable for it to be a single nurse needing the food bank, there are benefits that are a bit of a safety net to support families, she wouldn't have access to those. I'm not saying families are always better off but there are single people (including nurses) who are living financially on the edge too, especially with a few silly decisions as shown here.

SoupDragon · 17/02/2019 09:31

With Duffy bringing her appointment forward, I assumed it was a "we will see how you are in a couple of months and go from there. Contact us if you get worse" type appointment

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 17/02/2019 09:54

Oddboots, you have a point.

RedForShort · 17/02/2019 11:02

Whilst I imagine it's not beyond the realms of belief she might need food banks, the situation of all the other nurses and staff doesn't make it possibly. There's Robin, a single mum whose partner died (were they married in the end? Can't recall!!) Who is paying nursery fees and rent. Then Gemma (an ex junvinile delinquent!) who's managing to support herself - food and rent - no issues.

purpleme12 · 17/02/2019 11:04

Mmm I don't know I can see how a single individual might need food banks

ilovemilton · 17/02/2019 11:05

Doesn't Robin live with Charlie?

purpleme12 · 17/02/2019 11:15

I think she moved out of Charlie's

RedForShort · 17/02/2019 11:29

The huge debt (and penalties) is what is supposed to have caused Louise's financial hardship. She can't get herself out of it i presume the payments she's able for are far below the monthly instalment (and so the interest is just adding to her debt).

But in light of no other nurse expressing frequently (or at all) lack of finances for basis needs it makes it too stand alone as being the main reason she's leaving.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 17/02/2019 11:55

I don't think the debt was the main reason for her leaving though - she'd just had enough of not feeling like her very hard work (and not very good pay) was paying dividends for anyone - patients or herself.

Abillity2019 · 17/02/2019 12:00

I’m just glad she’s gone! Hope it’s those 2 awful students next...

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 17/02/2019 12:04

Well I have this funny feeling it might have been Jade who attacked Connie so maybe you'll get your wish Abillity2019...

QueenofmyPrinces · 17/02/2019 12:32

Maybe thats why there was a lot of focus on jaded camera and the fact it is was always on because she’d forgottwn to turn it off.

Maybe when she attacked Connie it was still running and she gets found out that way when someone coincidentally comes across her camera and hands it in....

purpleme12 · 17/02/2019 12:34

Why would she really attack her though?

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 17/02/2019 12:38

I'm not sure why purpleme12 but there was something in last night's episode which made me think it. May need to rewatch it.

MissEliza · 17/02/2019 12:45

I was thinking the same about Jade but I just can't see her motive.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 17/02/2019 12:51

Maybe we haven't yet been given any insight into the motive (but it will gradually be revealed over the coming weeks)? She has done some quite rash things including locking her frenemy in a cupboard when he then had an asthma attack.

bizzey · 17/02/2019 13:18

Well i agree that last nights episode was "flat"
But lots of red herrings and it is interesting that we have all seen them in a different way .
1)dont understand the Louise story...but much prefered her as a receptionist.

  1. Jade was hesitant to hand over her bodycam thing ...as i think it will show she had it on when not supposed to /all the time .

  2. Big one here ....re lilley's nosebleed ...we are /have been a family of nosebleeders ( is that a word ?? )
Splatters of blood on shoes/boots but none on her clothes is odd.
To prove herself ..blood / nosebleed remains would still be up her nose.

I am massivley overthing this cos i really need to be doing some housework and change the beds !!!!

OddBoots · 17/02/2019 15:56

Robyn and Glen were married when Glen died so Robyn would be able to claim Higher Rate Bereavement Support Payment which while not as much as the old Widowed Parent Allowance would still help her out. Especially if she had chance to save up while living with Charlie and Duffy and with Tax Credits/UC to pay for childcare and maybe more.

I'm too invested in this, aren't I!!

OddBoots · 17/02/2019 15:57

bizzey, sorry I meant I am too invested too.

MrsBosh · 17/02/2019 16:02

I feel like Dylan was acting a bit suspiciously last night whilst treating Connie Shock but I really hope it's nothing to do with him.
Louise also still on my list of suspects.

purpleme12 · 17/02/2019 16:12

Nooooo there's no way they'd make it Dylan

QueenofmyPrinces · 17/02/2019 16:51

I’m still very suspicious about Louise too actually.

She had very perceptive hearing to have coincidentally heard Connie’s tiny whimpers coming from behind the fence whilst standing outside the hospital in a busy and noisy environment....

QueenofmyPrinces · 17/02/2019 16:55

For some reason I think the attacker will be female. I just can’t bear to think the scriptwriters would write a storyline where a male would use such force and such violence on a tiny woman like Connie.
