It is a spoiler for spoiler purists, some of whom post on here! And it's pretty spoilerly if you do watch Holby. And actually, thinking about it, it's also totally spoilery about a current Casualty storyline. So yes, definitely a spoiler.

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/02/2019 14:33

Omg. Finally up to date !!!

So yet again Connie has a head injury. She survived cancer and now likely to be in a coma

For 10w maybe if we don’t don’t find out for weeks

I don’t think daughter would do that

Not Luke’s father

But someone did

Don’t they have cameras down fire exits

But silly of mum to withhold important medical info coz a camera might have recorded her

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/02/2019 14:34

And reading comments I missed ambulance lady was gay

CouldBeAnyoneReally · 16/02/2019 17:36

The druggie son said something about her new partner and family and just said “how is Fion by the way?” so it was quite subtle. Blink and you’ve missed it. However a quick google tells me it can be a boys name too so maybe we’ve assumed her sexuality incorrectly Shock

purpleme12 · 16/02/2019 17:40

I thought he said something more obvious than that I can't remember what now but I thought Fion was a boy's name so I don't think it was that that made me think she was a lesbian

SoupDragon · 16/02/2019 18:00

It was more obvious but I also can't remember what! It might have been just referring to her as "she" or something like that.

CouldBeAnyoneReally · 16/02/2019 20:29

Ah ok. I was prob too busy rolling my eyes and tutting to listen properly Grin

spiderlight · 16/02/2019 20:32

Ffion is the Welsh equivalent of Fiona. I've never encountered a male Ffion in Wales but there are loads of female ones around, so I think we can safely assume she's gay.

Murinae · 16/02/2019 20:35

I think it was Louise.

purpleme12 · 16/02/2019 21:02

Oh I'm sure I read it in a book as a male

RedForShort · 16/02/2019 21:08

Druggie son mentioned her getting a 'new wife" I'm pretty sure.

purpleme12 · 16/02/2019 21:08

Oh hang on I am right it's Fionn I'm thinking about the Irish one which is male!

RedForShort · 16/02/2019 21:44

What? "It's a long time coming."

She's only been a nurse (again) a wet week.

Spidey66 · 16/02/2019 21:51

And yet again someone hands in their resignation letter and walks off without handing in their notice. I'm a nurse and probably same band as Louise, last time I changed jobs I had to give 8 weeks notice.

Also if she's so poor she's using food banks, how can she leave without another job lined up?

So unrealistic.

CouldBeAnyoneReally · 16/02/2019 22:08

I mean it wouldn’t be fucking difficult to add in a line about her having lined up a job in a private hospital/care home/district nursing or something so it wasn’t quite so bloody unbelievable. Ffs.

LittleCandle · 16/02/2019 22:38

And as a single woman, would Louise really have been that broke? And if so, why didn't she ditch the car? Moaning about the parking fines, when she knew damn well what she was doing. I hate paying for parking at the hospital where I work, but I have to suck it up if I decide to park there. Admittedly, I am not a nurse and think the nurses should get free parking, but that's another thread entirely.

Nah, totally unrealistic her handing in her notice and walking.

And Connie is skipping out of her bed and working - so much for the coma

Aridane · 17/02/2019 00:24

(though she does look like a rather fetching walker from The Walking Dead)

Aridane · 17/02/2019 00:25

Jeez Louise - what do you think you are, the crime squad? Just let the police do their job

Aridane · 17/02/2019 00:26

When giving in her notice, she sounded like she was reading a script with the polemic on the NHS and x no of nurses leaving the NHS each month

QueenofmyPrinces · 17/02/2019 07:12

What a bloody let-down of an episode! How stupidly unrealistic!

And completely agree about the stupidity of Duffy ringing to bring her appointment forwards Hmm

I was expecting great drama last night, with Connie being on the verge of death and everyone rallying around to perform some novel, life saving surgery in Resus or something.......not her being discharged in a few hours and heading into the office to do some work.

The script writers should be pretty ashamed of themselves this week.

MissEliza · 17/02/2019 08:19

Why was Louise using food banks but not other nurses? Why was she the only nurse hit with excessive parking fines? It wasn't really explained properly.

purpleme12 · 17/02/2019 08:39

She parked her car in the spaces on purpose to make a point and didn't pay so she got a fine, more than one. It was a storyline a while ago so she got herself into this mess, or partly anyway.

As for why it's only her it's due to the above and I'm guessing she's got more outgoings than others maybe?

youbethemummylion · 17/02/2019 08:46

Louise obviously needs some budgeting advice.

  1. Dont rack up parking fines to prove a point
  2. Dont live somewhere you cant afford (if Gem can afford to rent a room then Louise should be able to)
  3. Dont quit your job when you havent got another lined up.
And on a non budgeting note: dont accuse someone of assault when they are standing next to their Dads dead body, talk about insensitive!
