Just caught up with this week’s episode....

I’m glad the Marty/Consultant storyline is over because it was so ridiculously stupid.....it would just never happen.

It was nice having an episode with no Duffy, Charlie or Jacob.

I’m glad Connie is back.

I’m surprised that Alicia has dumped Ethan although I’m glad it means he’s not leaving the show.

The Fabricated Illness storyline was chilling - I’m a children’s nurse and have come across some munchausens-by-proxy cases and they always unnerve me. I think it was very well portrayed.

I’m finding the Louise/Food bank story pretty stupid and unrealistic for all the reasons mentioned above!

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 24/01/2019 07:34

I still can't cope with how immature the two nurses are. Jade just needs to leave, now.

Glad extremely hot and grown up consultant has ditched extremely vain and immature Marty but I'll miss seeing him! Can't we get rid of Marty and keep consultant?

MrsBosh · 24/01/2019 14:04

Agree that Jade is really unlikeable. I kind of want her to fail and be chucked off the course.

Last Sat's episode was so refreshing to have no Charlie or Duffy 'acting' Hmm.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/01/2019 14:27

Poor Ethan

And yes silly they all leave in a day

Louise. Is she poor due to car fines ?

RedForShort · 24/01/2019 14:40

Erm, in my previous post:

"On Tehran's resignation being turned down. I feel that was totally realistic on a Casualty perspective- he was going to work his notice."

Tehran's was supposed to be Etan's

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 24/01/2019 14:40

Dislike Jade and Marty TBQH. They are superfluous to requirement in every way!

purpleme12 · 24/01/2019 14:50

Louise. Is she poor due to car fines ?

Yes that'll be part of it. But she brought that on herself by deciding to make a stand. She knew she'd get fines. That's also what makes me have no sympathy with her

Isitmybathtimeyet · 24/01/2019 15:12

Maybe the hot consultant will get a job in the ED now? In that flexible speciality way that meant Connie could go from cardiac to emergency medicine so easily.

Isitmybathtimeyet · 24/01/2019 15:12

Specialty not speciality. Stupid phone.

ilovemilton · 24/01/2019 15:22

Connie went off and re-trained in between Holby and casualty.

SaturdayNext · 24/01/2019 15:59

On the specialisation front, I never quite understood how Alicia became a paediatric specialist on the back of one episode where she happened to treat a child. I don't remember her going off to do any extra training.

MrsBosh · 24/01/2019 22:08

I know @SaturdayNext, she just randomly said to Connie a few months ago she wanted to 'specialise in paeds'. The next week she was on the paeds ward Grin. Presumably she was in an A&E training programme though... handy how they can just change their whole specialism in the blink of an eye! (Obv I know people do -my DH did - but he had to like apply and interview!)

sushisuperstar · 25/01/2019 00:38

Caught up. Hope they find Ethan someone who isn't as annoying as aleesha was. The woman who replaced connies role in the ed (Blake's Mum) was as subtle as a sledgehammer lol. Agree Marty is annoying and Jade too. More Dylan and Connie next episode please! 👍🏻

SoupDragon · 25/01/2019 07:33

They also set up a kids A&E section just on her request.

RedForShort · 25/01/2019 07:55

Did the kid's A&E replace that surgery room that Connie got set up at huge expenses. Was useful for Ethan to secretly operate on her, that's about it.

SoupDragon · 25/01/2019 07:59

I think the "hugely expensive and acquired after a trip to make a special presentation" surgery room is still there as I think it was briefly mentioned in passing a week or so ago. I don't know where they put the "popped up immediately" kids A&E.

Maybe she is

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 25/01/2019 12:21

I'm slightly glad Alicia has gone. She was great but she'd run her course I think on the show. Hopefully, Jade and louise will follow soon.

I'm looking forward to whatever storyline they have coming up for Connie. The recent trailer with her clearly having been attacked really got my attention!

SoupDragon · 25/01/2019 12:38

Nooooo! Not the trailer!

I always avoid watching them but I've not actually seen it to avoid this time. I shall be alert!

SoupDragon · 25/01/2019 12:38

They seem to have lost more doctors than they have gained recently. I think they've been down since Cal died.

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 25/01/2019 15:01

They shared the trailer on their social media (just so you know where not too look!)

SaturdayNext · 25/01/2019 15:41

I don't know where they put the "popped up immediately" kids A&E.

I think they put it where the drug rehab clinic that Charlie set up used to be. He didn't need it any more once his son dropped out of the storylines.

RedForShort · 25/01/2019 15:51

Just thought wasn’t there some mobile unit for drunks too?
