Yes, but the actress kept her long hair so she wears a wig to show where connotes hair would be now. The wig isn't part of the storyline, its supposed to be her hair.

purpleme12 · 20/01/2019 15:10

Soupdragon I thought that too. He clearly wasn't the love of her life

Ethan was with Alicia behind CL's back too - didn't he leave a cufflink on her bedroom floor that Cal found?

sushisuperstar · 20/01/2019 19:52

Very pleased to hear annoying Aleeeesha is gone. Very pleased to hear the wonderful Connie is back! I still need to watch the latest one but I hope there is not much Duffy in it (what on earth did she see in that guy she cheated with?!?)

purpleme12 · 20/01/2019 20:28

No Duffy in yesterday's but I'm sure there will be soon with the Alzheimer's storyline

InternetRandomer · 20/01/2019 20:50

The most ridiculous thing about Louise using the food bank is her hair cut - surely a style that short and tidy would need cutting every three/four weeks and would have been something she wouldn’t have been able to afford? Wouldn’t have been hard to let it get a bit messy looking for the storyline would it?

And my eyes rolled clean out of my head at Alica’s departure being done and dusted in one working day. Not sure why I’m even surprised Confused

SaturdayNext · 20/01/2019 22:05

Louise may cut her own hair or get a friend to do it. A friend of mine with a short style simply has a go at it with the scissors roughly whenever it reaches the point when it annoys her, and it looks irritatingly smart.

lumpsofitroundtheback · 20/01/2019 22:17

Had to go out halfway through last night's episode - what happened with the 'sick' little boy and the suspect mum?

SaturdayNext · 21/01/2019 11:30

Alicia walked out of her busy, understaffed shift (as you do when you're a responsible A&E doctor) to go round to his house where she discovered the mother had just given him insulin. So she forced her way up to his room, shoving the mother downstairs, and saved him in the nick of time, natch. The mother seemed to be unharmed by falling down a flight of stairs. So far as I can remember the last we saw of the mother was the police looming up, so I assume she was taken off to answer a few questions and the boy was admitted to a ward.

lumpsofitroundtheback · 21/01/2019 15:05

Cheers Saturday great summary Smile

RedForShort · 22/01/2019 09:42

Only thing SaturdayNext missed there was the unrealistically nice house Mad Mum had. She evidently has a very high paying job inbetween blogging and making her son ill.

On Tehran's resignation being turned down. I feel that was totally realistic on a Casualty perspective- he was going to work his notice.

I've a confession to make. I quite like Louise. Abrasive but (very) secretly kind-hearted

Don't forget that Munchausens-Mum also just happened to have the life saving glucagon injection in her fridge even though her diabetic husband moved to the other side of the world 6 months before.

Isitmybathtimeyet · 22/01/2019 11:44

You don't just wander up to a food bank. You have to be referred. If they are going to go down that story route, maybe they could get it even vaguely right rather than cause people to turn up on spec when they may be very vulnerable. I know expecting any sort of accuracy is hopeless but this kind of thing used to be properly researched.

Also Marty is just obnoxious. I don't get how we're meant to have any sympathy for him.

ButtonMooooon · 22/01/2019 12:09

Louise had a red letter which I assumed was some sort of referral?

RedForShort · 22/01/2019 12:11

She handed over something at the food bank. I took that to be the referral. Maybe?

Also diabetic husband had:

  • moved as far away as it's possible to move from his son
  • been so oblivious of his son's life he was unaware of a blog in which his son was named (one the Alicia found in seconds).

Yet he was suddenly overcome with fatherly duties and jumped on a plane to see him.

Isitmybathtimeyet · 22/01/2019 12:18

Ah, I didn't notice that. But that matters as they could easily have shown, even very briefly, her getting referred somehow.

Yes, dad entirely absent for two years and on a plane within an hour.

AnotherOriginalUsername · 22/01/2019 12:26

How much is a flight from Australia to Wales? I couldn't afford that at a moment's notice!

SoupDragon · 22/01/2019 13:09

Yes, Louise had a red letter to hand over at the food bank.

With the flight from Australia, To be fair, I think if my child needed me I would find the air fare somehow even if it was on my credit card. I do appreciate not everyone could manage this though.

Why would the father have been googling his son? Alicia only fLund it because she was specifically looking for it.

Auntpetunia2015 · 22/01/2019 13:18

Louise had a red voucher for the foodbank which she will have only got from a referring agency. She did sort of comment on it as she handed it over by saying “oh yes I need to give you this..I’ve not done this before. “.

RedForShort · 22/01/2019 14:16

No need for him to Google. But have a vague interest in his son's life, enough to perhaps speak to him.

"Mum says took me to the doctors again, I've got x, y z..."

SoupDragon · 22/01/2019 17:48

You talked about him being "unaware of a blog" and I was answering that.

TBH though, with that mother as the gatekeeper to all information and with the son in her thrall I doubt he would have passed on any information anyway as "we don't want to worry daddy".

SoupDragon · 22/01/2019 17:50

And, of course, it's not real 😂😂

which I certainly sometimes forget.

RedForShort · 22/01/2019 18:51

Yes, maybe relax a little. I mean I know it's important ...

I think a father involved in his son's life, even just a tad, would know about a blog about his son.

Phoebesgift · 22/01/2019 19:43

Was Ethan going to ask Alicia to marry him without telling her about his Huntingtons diagnosis? Or have I missed the episode where he told her? It's a huge thing to consider if you're going to commit yourself to someone surely?
