I agree Optimist. It doesn’t really seem to be common knowledge that Dylan and Sam had been previously married, it gets forgotten so I think it was just emphasising the point.

ellesbellesxxx · 27/08/2018 08:32

I wonder why Sam and Tom broke up? I have been (in nap times!) watching an earlier series when they have just got together. It says in spoilers when Sam comes back minus him that it will gradually come out but actually, nothing has been said?

ellesbellesxxx · 27/08/2018 08:33

I wondered if something would come out last night because Dylan was NOK.
Ok it seems I am over invested Blush

Just caught up on the last two eps. Can somebody please explain why Jacob's son is hanging around ED for Connie's briefing? Does he work there now? I can't believe that friend's and family could hang out at hospitals normally.

I was really getting irritated that the ambulance, with doors wide open, and terraced houses across the road, was police taped off all day. Surely, it would be checked, photographed and if not specialist cleaned, at least shut the doors. Could you imagine if you lived in those houses, urgh, seeing all that blood for the whole day?

Alisha has made a miraculously recovery with her severed arm. I really like Dylan, but surely he cannot now be a sponsor? He's too close to the situation. Why was Charlie all moody all of a sudden, very unlike him, are they setting up Duffy having an affair with London's Burning man?

Auldspinster · 27/08/2018 09:28

I'm presuming Dylan will choose sexing over sponsoring and step aside, then again this is Casualty so all bets are off.

Gersemi · 27/08/2018 12:16

Friends and family are constantly turning up at Holby demanding that their friend/relative drop everything and pay attention to them. Anywhere else, that would definitely be frowned on by management and potentially could lead to disciplinary action. That place's employment practices are truly unique.

The replacement ambulance person and doctor should turn up any day now, and there is an excellent chance that one or both it will turn out to be someone's mate/relative or a former employee who has been offered the job on the spot without any formal recruitment process.

Bunnybigears · 27/08/2018 14:58

Are we already supposed to know who London's Burning man is or is he just a random that Duffy knows but we havent seen before?

SoupDragon · 27/08/2018 15:07

I’ve googled him and I don’t think we’ve seen him before. At least not as this character! He’s been 3 different people on Holby/Casualty before

Optimist1 · 27/08/2018 15:14

I'm not sure I could bear a Duffy/LB Man/Charlie love triangle.

StripySocksAndDocs · 27/08/2018 16:31

he maybe a paramedic or doctor from another place Duffy worked. and he's currently seeking a new place to work.

Is he supposed to have young children who were at the party?

William Gaminara was lovely and handsome as her husband, the replacement was a bit of a disappointment.

PiggeryPorcombe · 27/08/2018 20:55

New man was also in The Bill.

QueenofmyPrinces · 28/08/2018 10:05

When Alisha said, “I will tell everyone exactly why you are my house that night, then everyone will know exactly what kind of nab you are.” (or something like that) I got the impression she was talking about the night the rape took place?

As if another bombshell was about to be dropped?

I just can’t imagine him pleading guilty because she threatened to say he tried to get her to change her mind as mentioned upthread?

I may be wrong though Grin

SoupDragon · 28/08/2018 10:08

I think she was saying that she’d explain he was in her house the night he pushed her through the window to convince her to drop the rape charge. She knows the rape charge will most likely be dropped and this was a way to get it out in “public”. Whilst the rape case might not get to court, she could still basically accuse him of it in court during the assault case.

SoupDragon · 28/08/2018 10:08

She’s happy that he will at least get punished for something.

I thought it was very clever of her :)

Gersemi · 28/08/2018 12:00

I think SoupDragon is right. There's also the fact that I think he was in breach of bail conditions by coming to her house.

QueenofmyPrinces · 28/08/2018 12:13

So the ABH charge was from when he pushed her through the door?

So last night he was pleading guilty to that and it wasn’t for the charge of rape that he was in court for?

Auldspinster · 28/08/2018 12:30

In the preview clip for the series Dylan is punching someone who looks like his dad. Wonder if he has a past with Ciara?

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 28/08/2018 13:38

So last night he was pleading guilty to that and it wasn’t for the charge of rape that he was in court for?

That's right. When Iain and Ruby arrived at the scene after Eddie pushed her through the glass, Alicia told them that he attacked her (meaning just then, to cause her injuries) and Iain told Eddie that he was reporting it to the police. So Eddie plea hearing was on ABH charges for that, nothing to do with the rape.

I think Alicia knew that the rape charge would come to nothing, so she told him that if he pleaded not guilty to the ABH charge, forcing a court case, she would explain in court that the reason he was at her house that night in the first place was to ask her to withdraw her accusation of rape. Thus he would be labelled in court (and thus on record) not just as someone capable of ABH but also as an alleged rapist.

I think Eddie realised that that would be a lot harder to come back from than an ABH charge - although God knows what that alone does to a doctor's career. Would he be struck off for that?

QueenofmyPrinces · 28/08/2018 13:46

Thank you!!! It all makes much more sense now!!!

condepetie · 29/08/2018 14:57

Those four siblings, I noticed in the end credits that the littlest girl's real name is Connie-Kiss Mee Grin Who would do that to a child?!

StripySocksAndDocs · 29/08/2018 17:12

Haddie Dida-Wee and Willie Wee-won might?

it's a step up from their names after all.

I hope she doesn't marry a Mr Quick and decide to double-barrel!
