Good God... how did they win best soap? The best soap is Molten Brown. Fact. (Lime and Patchouli, specifically!) What with dozy Rosie, booed Jude and airy-fairy Rosemary... think we'll all be reaching for the remote control by the time Jude has emerged from his kennel!

Also love Steve, Tim, Sally, Liz, Moira, even Peter.
Agree re shirtless Imran BlushWink

Frillyfarmer · 14/06/2018 00:25

Eva still looks pregnant!

It’s realistic - I love it. I still looked six months pregnant at 4months PP so I’m so relieved they have a grip on real lives.

I think Eva will leave the street with the baby, once the whole thing unravels - that’s blatantly what the Toyah “pensive looks” scenes are for.

I don’t care about the factory story lines BUT I don’t think you can take possession of something without it clearing probate so she needs to wind her fucking neck in.

Clionba · 14/06/2018 07:48

Moira is great! Love Liz and Steve, anything with Roy, Sally or Tim. They can actually act. Very harrowing scene at the funeral parlour.

Optimist1 · 14/06/2018 08:56

Only on TV does everyone attending the funeral wear black. Just musing.

Spam88 · 14/06/2018 09:29

Really? I'd be surprised to see someone wearing anything other than black at a funeral, with the exception of young children.

HettySunshine · 14/06/2018 10:15

In a less tragic situation the family might say no need to wear black, that was the case with my granny, but in this case it was appropriate I think. It couldn't really be thought of as a celebration of his life when everyone was still so traumatised.

WolfMcWolferson · 14/06/2018 12:06

Nooooo as if she changed the locks?

SumAndSubstance · 14/06/2018 13:43

This sort of stuff really pisses me off - there's just no need for that sort of ludicrous inaccuracy. Plus, despite their best efforts to portray Alya as a complete cow recently (I presume it's deliberate!), AS IF she would do it while they were all at Aidan's funeral!

Stopclimbingbob · 14/06/2018 13:53

Maybe I have a nasty and evil mind, but I can't help thinking that Alya needs to tread carefully. If it is decided in court that Alya should inherit the whole factory, Alya might need at least some cooperation from the Connors. They could very easily use their connections within the industry to make life very difficult for her. She at least needs them to bow out with good grace. They will have a lot of friends and business acquaintances who may want to remain loyal to the family.

How long until the truth comes out about Eva and the baby? If she truly wanted Toyah and Peter to bring Susie up as their own then she would leave Weatherfield in order to make life as easy as possible for all of them.

drearydeardre · 14/06/2018 14:48

I was thinking - as you do - that Peter would be able to read the name on the hospital tag on baby Susie in the photo - would it have shown eva's name - and did he not wonder how she had the photo when surrogate baby would have been born somewhere else - not sure where.
It will all unravel of course.

Spam88 · 14/06/2018 15:09

dreary I also thought he was going to read the name tag! But apparently not...

ShowerGel9 · 14/06/2018 17:10

Placemark

Cakietea · 14/06/2018 17:28

Anyone else think when Simon said to Eva three syllables he was going to say surrogate and not hypocrite?!

Honeyroar · 14/06/2018 18:48

Liz McDonald didn't put him off for long, did she? Poor Jenny, although I can foresee a bit of a barney in The Rovers when that all comes out!

thenightsky · 14/06/2018 19:03

Jenny would be well shut of him, nasty abusive wanker. Hope she takes him to the cleaners.

Clawdy · 14/06/2018 19:51

Yes, he used to be rather nice, and now he is foul. Grief is no excuse for his horrible behaviour.

WolfMcWolferson · 14/06/2018 23:34

Watching Classic Corrie, Jenny and Sally are very good friends. It was 30 years ago of course but now they barely acknowledge each other!

Frillyfarmer · 15/06/2018 09:31

Yeah I reckon it will all unravel with baby Susie and Eva will end up with her, so he should. When it does unravel, I hope Peter leave Toyah, that level of deceit is unforgivable.

The more I think of the Alya taking control of the factory after a will reading, the more batshit I think it is. With two solicitors in the street how have they managed to get that one so wrong? The writers really piss me off with stuff like that.

It may be something to do with Jenny moving away and Sally, despite thinking she's better than Weatherfield, has stayed in the same street.
When Martin came back I wish he could have stayed around for longer as it would have been interesting to see how he and Jenny spoke with one another considering their earlier friendship. Both are the original actors (as is Sally) so there's no excuse of having to get to know a 'new head'.
I wonder if the script writers are following Classic Corrie for continuity at least (if not ideas on how to write a good story line).

WolfMcWolferson · 15/06/2018 11:15

Yeah I thought about the moving away thing Campervan, and I wouldn't be besties with someone I'd not seen for 20 years tbf, but agree t was strange Martin didn't talk to many of the people he was very good friends with back in the day.

Can't understand why current scriptwriters would not be at least vaguely paying attention to Classic Corrie Hmm. Some people have said they have an archivist to make sure stuff lines up, not sure they are doing a great job...

kikashi · 15/06/2018 12:50

Martin did mention he was going to call in on Kev but it would have been nice to see a drink in the Rovers with Kev, Jenny and Sally.
Jenny moved away and then when she came back this time round she went out with Kev and stole Jack. I wonder why Sally isn't better friends with Rita - IIRC when the Rosie and Sophie were small Rita was like a granny to them and lent Kev and Sally quite a lot of money and was generally very generous to them.

SuperSuperSuper · 15/06/2018 13:27

When Sally was unpleasant to Jenny after Jack's kidnap a couple of years ago, Jenny said something like, "we used to be really close Sal, we told each other everything". So it has been alluded to. I guess they've just drifted apart.

HushabyeMountainGoat · 15/06/2018 19:11

Johnny hasn't seemed to love Jenny for a while, way before Aidan's suicide. He's never had any intention of going to Spain and has been stringing her along. Not sure why though?

Toyah's worried expression is really grating on me now. If that was real life people would be asking her what was wrong all the time. She looks beside herself.

WolfMcWolferson · 15/06/2018 19:58

Ah good point. I couldn't remember if when she came back before the kidnapping etc whether they had been just as before.

Yeah he wasn't sure about her, then he was, then they got married and it seemed fine, now not again Hmm
