Good God... how did they win best soap? The best soap is Molten Brown. Fact. (Lime and Patchouli, specifically!) What with dozy Rosie, booed Jude and airy-fairy Rosemary... think we'll all be reaching for the remote control by the time Jude has emerged from his kennel!

Moira was brilliant when Eileen and Liz were hugging at Eileen's leaving party and she joined in and startled them both.

kikashi · 16/06/2018 17:32

I loved asking about going the "Whole hog"

I thought that was a good episode - finally Peter had some acting to do! Really brought it home how much Toyah had denied him.

Clawdy · 16/06/2018 18:13

I imagine if Johnny goes for custody, he'll say Eva gave the baby away at birth, and use that against her.

Honeyroar · 16/06/2018 19:24

What did I miss on Friday?

CoolCarrie · 16/06/2018 22:15

I think Liz and Johnny will end up running the Rovers!

SuperSuperSuper · 16/06/2018 22:23

Ooooh yes to Liz and Johnny in the Rovers. Awful for Jenny though. I hope she wouldn't leave.

keepondreaming · 16/06/2018 23:34

Oooohh. Never thought about Liz and Johnny running the pub. I like that!

EachandEveryone · 17/06/2018 00:20

As Harry Styles, the druggy mother and Sean couldnt put £150 in each a month and rent Eileens.

drearydeardre · 17/06/2018 06:10

Not Johnny running the pub! - he has little charisma (compare to Alec Gilroy or even Steve) - he has that depressing / always angry face that would put the punters off. Shock

Clionba · 17/06/2018 07:28

I feel sorry for Jenny. She's a very good actress, and her pain and confusion is awful.
The druggy mum is awful, and it's outrageous that she's just crashed rent free at Eileen's.

kikashi · 17/06/2018 09:56

Exactly Each. Abi and Seb are both earning, if Sean has lost his job he would get JSA/HB and he could ask Alya for a job. If Abi wants her twins back she'd be better asking Eileen to rent the house, how is squatting a good point with SS?

Fiz is just dreadful, no wonder 'Ope is a bit naughty. I felt quite ill when Kim said she'd mooned the taxi driver and he had to pull her skirt down. The factory would be out of business in a week, it's a holiday camp - have the writers never had a field trip to one? A 9.30 start, pick your kids up from school, lunch in a pub, leaving your station to make a brew for everyone, taking personal phone calls and the snail like speed - ha hah ha!!!

Thesearmsofmine · 17/06/2018 11:14

I’m interested to see what happens next with the baby storyline.

I hope Sean isn’t getting a story, I can’t stand him so much prefer him in the background.

TheJunctionBaby · 17/06/2018 11:57

I'm a bit behind at the moment and haven't read the full thread yet, but I don't really get all the gate for Aaliyah. How the family are treating her is awful especially as she is right, she's the only one who stuck by Aiden when everyone else abandoned him. His dad kicked him out and said he was no longer hours son, hypocrite Kate wanted nothing to do with him because of his affair, Jenny didn't like him. And when he was homeless, Aaliyah took him into her home and worked with him to try and get the factory back up and running again. Why Carla wouldn't just call a truce for the day and allow her to pay her respects was just unnecessarily cruel. So as far as I'm concerned I hope Aaliyah gets the factory. Carla didn't even want it anymore that's why she gave it to Aiden. The witches of Eastwick should back off. If they were smart and had treated her better, she'd probably have reached a compromise with them, but the cruel bullying means she's in fight mode now.

Rant over!

Oh, and if it was family only, why was married at the funeral? Hmm

TheJunctionBaby · 17/06/2018 11:59

Oh, and Jonny's treatment of Jenny is awful. Grief or not there's no excuse. How do people in soaps fall in and out of love at the click of a finger like that?!

kikashi · 17/06/2018 12:23

Jenny continually apologising is quite sad as I don't think she has done anything in any way remiss (but I might be wrong having missed some episodes and multi tasking whilst some are on).

I have seen this behaviour in RL though from grieving people. I think they feel guilty themselves but put the blame on someone who should be near and dear who the deceased had had some resentment of or problems in their relationship.

Jenny and Aiden did clash a bit - he thought that Jenny being younger than Johnny and on her uppers was a gold digger (like Johnny's previous gf) and she resented him a bit for that and as the cosseted son. Johnny is focusing all his ire on Jenny when it is really himself who feels he let his son down. It's not fair, it's not right but I think it is a good twist. I do think Johnny and Liz are more natural "mates" than Johnny and Jenny.

Hygge · 17/06/2018 15:01

"Oh, and if it was family only, why was married at the funeral?"

Do you mean Maria? She is family, she was married to Liam Connor and her son, also called Liam, is a blood relative to them as a result.

Liam Connor who died was Aiden's cousin, his sister is Michelle so she's also a cousin of Aiden and Kate, and she is Liam Juniour's Aunt.

Clionba · 17/06/2018 15:29

Rana was there with Kate.

WolfMcWolferson · 17/06/2018 20:49

Why did Johnny throw Aiden out? Was it because of the factory?

HettySunshine · 17/06/2018 21:36

Because Aiden's affair with Maria led to Adam and Eva arranging for those guys to strip the factory to the rafters - they even had the lead off the roof.

I agree - Sean is horrific both on and off screen, he was unbearable in strictly or ice dancing or whatever it was. He makes me want to cheese grate my eyeballs out, he isn’t convincing as a human being.

kikashi · 18/06/2018 08:12

His date was so cringey - not convincing at all. Was the Kim bloke angry or shocked when he overheard that Sean had no money? I couldn't tell from his expression - my grown up kids thought he looked annoyed. If so, not very nice.

WolfMcWolferson · 18/06/2018 08:35

I thought the date looked annoyed because Michell said something like "get moneybags to pay next time"

kikashi · 18/06/2018 12:38

8Wolf* that sound about right.

Deadringer · 18/06/2018 14:44

How could anyone fancy Sean, he is obnoxious, always whinging, or flouncing, he is a complete pain. And if he isn't working why doesn't he just bloody well say so.
