Shiny new thread.

Hopefully we will see some players return from injury in the next few weeks.

Munich/Istanbul in play this week amongst other tournaments.

Madrid week beginning the 7th (hopefully with Delpo playing)

( Cecchinato has been playing some great shots though)

and he takes the set.

well, I don't know if it will continue, but it's good so far.

it appears Novak needs to remove his shirt to get a neck massage. Physio out, as expected.

Put it back on!Grin

Just watched Thiem/Zverev on catch up as I had to go out - disappointing for both of them but well done Thiem. It must be difficult when your opponent is injured.

Yes Raahh I usually like it when players take their shirts off but not bothered about Novak Grin

Hope things not too bad at the hospital.

Raahh · 05/06/2018 15:43

fizzy I don't think anyone was fussed!
Cecchinato is playing some amazing shots injured or not Novak would struggle .

Fizzy I'm just bored now. mainly with my own company. Grin

Raahh hope you're ok. Sounds painful.

I've got cataracts and have to have op but it won't be until the end of summer so I'll have to carry on watching the tennis through a haze! Thankfully nothing worse though. Surely 49 is too young for cataracts?!

It's a pity about Zverev but I think Dom would have beaten him anyway.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 05/06/2018 15:45

Well, this is weird.

So many injuries. Not that I can feel much about Djokovic’s, but I was falling for Zverev and his Yorkshire love-in. And Rafa and Roger can’t last forever, and I need players to still feel strongly for when they finally hang up their racquets.

Raahh - hope all is going well. I am very sympathetic and compassionate but am also failing to stop this playing on a loop in my head Blush

Raahh · 05/06/2018 15:46

Oh jane that doesnt sound good. Hope you are ok Flowers

OK, so shirtless Djokovic is doing nothing for us. Well, seeing as Raahh’s poorly and needs cheering up, and because I’m willing to make huge sacrifices for the cause, I’ve been googling shirtless tennis players to see if we can find a worthy replacement. So here goes...we begin with Rafa (obvs), Wawrinka, Thiem (although is he too young and is it icky?)...

Grinvery selfless of you.

But yes, Thiem just looks like he's on his holidays and needs a bucket and spade.Grin

Get better soon Raahh
( I was also quoting friends in my head, but I do that for most situations unfortunately)

I tweaked the same muscle as Djokovic a couple of weeks ago, could have just done with that physiotherapist to turn up! It was a bugger trying to reverse the car! It would definitely affect my serve. If I'd held a racquet in the 30 years since I left school.

(Do any of you play tennis? I'd like to try again but fear it wouldn't go well. I was always better at badminton)

dh and the dc arrived which also signalled a reversal in fortunes for Cecchinato.

I can't play tennis. I can't see very well- and am not much talker than the netGrin

The bonus in dh turning up is he has persuaded me to pay for the tv so I can watch the tennis properly. Grin

OP posts:
PrivateParkin · 05/06/2018 17:20

Blimey, what's happened to Cecchinato? I'm not watching as on the train. Has he just lost the plot?!

JaneJeffer · 05/06/2018 17:22

Good on your DH.

I am wandering in and out and there seems to be some kind of misbehaviour going on but I don't know what!

PrivateParkin · 05/06/2018 17:23

Good on your DH Raahh. If you can't indulge in some tennis watching now, then when can you?!

I play a bit of tennis at a nice friendly not at all posh club, which also has great juniors sessions (so I take my DS too). I can hit it ok but my footwork is sadly lacking Grin

Raahh · 05/06/2018 17:27

The commentators are suggesting he put his all into the tie break in the 2nd set.
Djok had more treatment apparently after the 3rd set.

Cecchinato is sadly not looking as happy as he did at the beginning. But at least he's given Djok something to think about.

Tomorrow's OOP looks great

Raahh · 05/06/2018 17:30

Novak is doing a lot of ranting.
