Shiny new thread.

Hopefully we will see some players return from injury in the next few weeks.

Munich/Istanbul in play this week amongst other tournaments.

Madrid week beginning the 7th (hopefully with Delpo playing)

It's a bank holiday here tomorrow. I have to set off very early on Tuesday as the hospital is over 60 miles away and I've got a 9.30 appointment. I will be channeling Foggy. DS2 will have to get himself off to school. His big brother is home from college but the chances of him getting up in time are slim.

Fizzywinegum · 03/06/2018 20:09

Good luck with the eye appointment Jane - hope everything goes ok

JaneJeffer · 03/06/2018 21:17

Thanks ladies.

I see Caroline Wozniacki is a set down. Hope she can make a comeback tomorrow.

magimedi · 03/06/2018 21:59

Good luck for tomorrow Jane.

Today was the first time I have seen Kasaktina play - she is one to watch.

ladymelbourne1926 · 03/06/2018 22:06

Good luck tomorrow jane I hope all goes well

JaneJeffer · 03/06/2018 22:35

Thanks everyone. It's not until Tuesday. I'll still be wittering away here tomorrow Grin

PrivateParkin · 03/06/2018 22:39

Hope it goes ok Jane. Magi, I like Kasatkina - she's a bit different isn't she - a bit more crafty and throws in a few unexpected shots!

ferrier · 03/06/2018 23:43

Yes, that's why I like her. Although she's quite vulnerable emotionally. I think the suspension of play happened at a really good time for her and I hope she can come back and finish it off. Although I know Wozniacki is as tenacious as they come which will test Daria.

Sad to see Goffin and Nishikori out. I'll miss most of tomorrow too as I'm working. I'm spending a lot of time on catch up 🙁

PrivateParkin · 03/06/2018 23:58

Ferrier me too - I like that wily game planning she has as opposed to Caro's game. I wonder if Caro will regroup overnight though? Finely balanced isn't it?

I'm working tomorrow too, will check updates at lunchtime and home time!

ladymelbourne1926 · 04/06/2018 08:02

No tennis for me today, have a busy day -workshop for my ds1 and then the joys of shopping with my youngest 2.
Have my fingers crossed for an easy match for both Rafa and Del Potro.

Fizzywinegum · 04/06/2018 08:46

I’m not going to be able to watch the Rafa match either Sad especially now that the Wozniacki match is on at 12.

Might get to see a bit of the Delpo match - I’ve not really seen him play this tournament.

Raahh · 04/06/2018 10:01

I'm not really sure what I will get to see- as well as going at 1pm, ,I've got to take the dog to the vet at 11am (his glands )

Listening to Marion and John discussing the Shrieky /Serena match - and trying desperately not to just scream that they want Serena to win.

14 years since Maria beat her- which amazingly was the year before Rafa first won at RG.

They are not impressed by the Wozniacki match and the fact they moaned and went off early when it wasn't even that dark . It has messed up the schedule really.

Non-RG news: Tsonga will miss the grass court season with knee injury Sad really sad about this. He's one of my faves, especially on grass.

Raahh · 04/06/2018 11:36

Oh that's a shame about Tsonga.Sad

Did expect this Schwartman match to be a bit closer- I know Anderson has a big serve, but Diego has one of the best returns in the game , despite being 'diminutive'.

Halep match was straightforward then, which I'm glad to see.

Annoyed that the Wozniacki match is on when the Nadal match could have been on. I'd have been able to see some of it before I went out. Although maybe Kasatkina will win this set soon.

Have a very unhappy dog , with infected anal glands. Nice. Sad.

And she has won! I'm really pleased for her.

Maybe I will get to see some of the Rafa match after all. Grin

PrivateParkin · 04/06/2018 11:52

Yay! Hope your dog is ok Raahh.

Raahh · 04/06/2018 11:59

Thanks,Private he's a bit prone to gland problems (apparently some dogs are unlucky like that) this time they've ended up infected as well. He is feeling a bit sorry for himself, but I think he will be ok . As my vet said 'he'll live'Grin

Oop- not quite the start Rafa wanted!

I'm not worried yet!

Fizzywinegum · 04/06/2018 12:17

Rafa’s on earlier than I thought but I’ll not see it all unless it’s really quick.

I’m quite glad that I’m not in to see the Williams/Sharapova match - not keen on either of them.

That’s a shame about Tsonga - I like to see him play at Wimbledon.

Hope Raahh dog feeling better soon.

Hoping that I’ll get to see a bit of the foggy/Cilic match - could be interesting.

Raahh · 04/06/2018 13:29

checking up on scores whilst I'm out- glad to see Diego has levelled the match with Anderson. Marterer is making the most of his time on court with Rafa , at least he can always say he broke his serve straight off the bat!

OP posts:
Raahh · 04/06/2018 14:07

I am hope for about half an hour.

Could it be long enough to see Rafa take the match?

Schwartzman has won! So pleased! Doing it for the diminutive people amongst us everywhere Grin.

Yay great comeback by Schwartzman! Diminutive people rule!!

Raahh · 04/06/2018 14:09

I'm just watching his on court interview with Marion, he looks so pleased.

OP posts:
Raahh · 04/06/2018 14:13

I've been a big fan of Diego for a while- he had some chances last year against Djok, he's something different really. And it was a massive comeback , especially against someone who was always going to win so many points off his serve.
