I’ve just heard that this will start in the US at the end of this month but Channel 4 haven’t said when they’ll start showing it yet.

Ohh I'm excited, didn't think this would really happen. Really curious to see where they take it.

Oooo excited. Though interested in how it will play out as not based on the book etc

CruCru · 08/04/2018 22:41

There is some stuff about it in the Radio Times.

I think there’s going to be more about Aunt Lydia and about the Marthas. I wonder whether the Marthas were sent to a centre (similar to the Red Centre) to learn how to cook and run a house? They aren’t allowed to read so would have to do all the cooking from memory, rather than recipe books. I’d be useless.

Checking in as loved the first series & book - very thought provoking & scary how close to reality it could all become.

spinduffy · 22/04/2018 07:39

Do you think they will re show season 1 before season 2 starts? I want to refresh my memory

CruCru · 22/04/2018 22:52

They may not have time to reshape season 1 before season 2 starts (assuming that it starts in early May). I may be wrong though.

Sorry, reshow.

Place marking....I've got the first one on DVD and binged watched it recently. Can't wait for the new series.

Eleanorsummer · 23/04/2018 15:07

I can't wait for the second series. I cried at most episodes in the first!

Groovee · 23/04/2018 16:12

Hoping it starts about the time Good Karma hospital finishes.

eloisesparkle · 25/04/2018 00:14

I think it's starting here in Ireland this week.
I'm not sure I can face it. I found the first series a really difficult watch.
So daaaark.

AcrossthePond55 · 25/04/2018 03:08

It drops tomorrow (I'm in the US). I'll start binge-watching on Thursday as DH is going to be out of town for five days so I'll be able to watch uninterrupted. Yay!

You know, as much as I enjoyed Season 1, I haven't been able to bring myself to re-watch it. It was so good and enthralling, yet so dark and (given our current political climate) so frightening.

Doza · 25/04/2018 06:33

Yes! RTE on Thursday at 10:35.
Will also be on the RTE Player, although I dont know if that will work in the UK and it's a bit unwieldy anyway.

CruCru · 25/04/2018 07:17

Is RTE in Ireland?

CruCru · 25/04/2018 07:18

Ah, just googled it. Yes it is.

whydoineedanickname · 25/04/2018 08:10

Does anyone know where you can watch this in the uk?

squarecorners · 25/04/2018 08:13

When will tv companies learn that they are basically asking us to pirate stuff when they don't show popular US shows straight away?

KittyKlaws · 25/04/2018 11:45

I am really looking forward to this. I would be interested in them exploring the Aunts more too - I have written about this aspect of the book so I am a little invested.

Actually 'looking forward' seems wrong when I found the first season so emotionally harrowing, but I am - it was so well done.

CruCru · 25/04/2018 13:07

Argh! There’s a thing in the Guardian that says that the show will be on Channel 4 “later this year”. I know that, technically, in two day’s time is later this year but this opens the possibility that it won’t be shown for a while.

well SHIT

They've only released two episodes!!!! Dammit!!!

CruCru · 25/04/2018 21:01

Who have? Hulu?

NNchangedforthis · 25/04/2018 21:24

@squarecorners so I can say they forced me to find it online, as soon as I could and now I’m halfway through season 2, episode 1!!
