We were hooting at the Iranian cooking. It really was the equivalent of an British person producing roast chicken and boiled spuds in cooking terms (maybe like geordie Street food!) She didn't even try to jazz up the kookoo! I'm sure she had more interesting things to offer but when the judges are served something they aren't familiar with they do tend to overpraise it (even if it's local version of eggs and chips). There was an Iranian a few series' back who did the same - very basic recipes that kids learn as staples.

I thought her tart sounded interesting and it looked like it would taste nice.

We always joke that we are going to try the Iranian version and present beans on toast!

I saw thomas in a speak at mumsnetfest a few years back and I thought she was lovely.
