Having been watching the 80s eps I thought Rita being as shocked by Gemma coming out of Tyrone's a little off. She is definitely a woman of the world, and while she clearly wouldn't be happy about it, i thought it was a little bit of a pearl clutchy and moral reaction. More likely she'd tell Gemma she'd been stupid and to steer well clear.

I've liked Sophie Thompson for years so despite giving up watching Corrie last April, I've started up again for a bit and she's great. Makes sitting through scenes of Jennie McAlpine emoting just about worthwhile.
