cant wait

i enjoyed s1, tho was full of twists and if i rem correctly it was a confusing end

we weren't sure if she killed /tried to kill henry with a bag over his head

but we had proof it was him due to the bite mark on his shoulder

or something like that

the first series is on demand sowill re watch the last episode to refresh memory

Yes, I know that, but I would have liked to have seen him being, I dunno, cared for or something. It felt like a lot of characters that we got invested in were just casual plot devices. Oh I don't know. I think I'm mainly dissatisfied becuase I don't like the main character

Piggywaspushed · 17/04/2018 08:06

I think, having read some interviews now with Rosenfeld, he really doesn't care what we want to know bit, which is rather galling!! It's obviously all a bit postmodern or something. Hmm

diddl · 17/04/2018 08:52

I thought that one of the points of Mark(?) spying on her would be that she could know for sure that Jason was gaslighting her.

Although that might not have lead to her being in a position to be "headhunted" by Hugo Speer.

I'd watch another series if he was in it!

louise5754 · 17/04/2018 11:04

What a dramatic finale.

I'd hate to think that someone who had regular black outs /Issues that made her want to cut herself / her hair / possible kill her daughter / attempt suicide / live on the street for 9 days would make a sane under over cop

juneau · 17/04/2018 11:12

I agree louise. Marcella is utterly bonkers, unreliable, doesn't follow order, disappears at will and is also apparently murdered her own DC. Why anyone would want to employ her for anything is beyond me!

louise5754 · 17/04/2018 11:23

I don't know why I said cop. We aren't in America 😬

The opening of the bottled beers wound me up too not sure why lol I do drink bottled beer 😜

juneau · 17/04/2018 11:30

Oh, and let's not forget that she is suicidal and physically attacked her boss (who was trying to help her), with a bog tank lid and knocked him out cold, leaving him lying in the floor of the ladies loos at night where he probably wouldn't be found until the following morning.

Plus, she had an affair with Tim, her boss' boss, which would've got her disciplined, removed from the case or sacked if this series was even remotely like real life.

And let's not forget that she, her ex-h, his new gf and one of her DC were involved in many different aspects of both this case and the one in the first series - which again would have had her removed from any investigative role in either case right at the start.

I will not be watching series 3. I know most dramas are far-fetched, but this one is as nuts as its lead character.

louise5754 · 17/04/2018 11:37

Also the lighting is always just right in the homes. They walk in at night and there are always 2/3 side lamps on so it's not pitch black but dark enough to put you on edge.

phlewf · 17/04/2018 11:44

Baffling. How did the murdering midwife engineer a lobotomy to look like a car crash in Norway? They said Norway at least 10 times. She was his younger sister some likely a teenager.

And why was she lobotomising them and then killing them? Surely one or the other?
And excuse this exceptional bad taste but she referenced a wife beater who’s baby she delivered. Would she not just be killing the babies?
In conclusion, what?

BitOutOfPractice · 17/04/2018 12:57

It seemed to be a three part process- insert the symbols in their stomach, lobotomise, then kill. I have no idea how she managed to do all that

Another loose end was the band's manager...did he get away with killing Nigel Planer?

catweasel44 · 17/04/2018 13:00

I thought the killings were a mistake. I thought she wanted to lobotomise them all (like her brother) but was just shit at it.

BitOutOfPractice · 17/04/2018 13:20

I don't think they were mistakes as she chose very carefully in advance where to place the bodies - in the wall at the house where her friend was killed, the police station circled on the map etc.

BitOutOfPractice · 17/04/2018 13:21

Which makes me realise that another loose end was where all the other bodies were

Piggywaspushed · 17/04/2018 14:10

This thread makes me laugh. It just sums up beautifully what a barmy programme it is!!!

BitOutOfPractice · 17/04/2018 14:12

Just been reading the comments about her walk too. The BF and I amused each other greatly by only walking like her last night. I was best at it.

RebeccaCloud9 · 17/04/2018 14:42

They said in the police interview that it was a mistake and that she couldn't get the lobotomising right.

phlewf · 17/04/2018 16:03

Great, now I’ve been googling lobotomy techniques for a while. Gonna look great if I get arrested. I’m not sure she could be that crap at it. Surely she would have moved onto another method.
Midwives please weigh in with wether or not you could lobotomise someone.

Piggywaspushed · 17/04/2018 16:22

bit have you had DCs? If so, it's easy because it's like the 8 month pregnant / in labour waddle!

Piggywaspushed · 17/04/2018 16:25

Plot hole!!

If she had successfully lobotomised them all (all 17??)where on earth was she going to put them? She couldn't put them all in a home citing Norwegian road accidents.

(On a separate note, why Norway? Who goes to Norway who isn't Norwegian? Guess this is the writer's self referencing Scandiness. And didn't anyone at the home wonder why and how he had got back form Norway?? And ask for medical notes ? Who forged those then??)

BitOutOfPractice · 17/04/2018 16:35

Piggy yes I have and I channelled that with the additional imagining of wearing size 13 hob nail boots Grin

Piggywaspushed · 17/04/2018 17:11

Must have been spot on!

LassWiADelicateAir · 17/04/2018 22:04

(On a separate note, why Norway? Who goes to Norway who isn't Norwegian?

Even as someone who isn't Norwegian but who has gone to Norway I did wonder at the extra unnecessary level of detail that the crash was in Norway.

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/04/2018 06:21

I missed the Norway comment

OP posts:
louise5754 · 18/04/2018 07:32

What happened in Norway totally missed that bit too

Piggywaspushed · 18/04/2018 08:14

Nothing happened in Norway : that's the whole point!
