And don't forget than when Roy Cropper first came into corrie he was a creepy bloke who kept perving at Deidre. She had a flat in a block owned by Miike Baldwin ( I think she was a kind of concierge ) and Roy was a creepy tenant from upstairs.

PorklessPie · 28/01/2018 14:28

I didn't know that about Roy Shock

I’m turning off after Luke’s funeral as I’m not enjoying the unremitting gloom/murders/rapes. But there’s a few characters I’ll be curious about.

Daniel and Carla seems off to me. What is the age difference of the characters? About 25 years? Could be less, Alison King is lovely but I find heavy makeup aging.

PorklessPie · 28/01/2018 18:57

There a few characters I would love to see the back of. Rosie, Michelle and Sarah.

I like Rosie - she’s quite funny in small doses.

I looked up Carla and Daniel - 20 year age gap. Bit more reasonable, but with someone that young there’s going to be such a big experience gap.

eddiemairswife · 28/01/2018 19:25

Yes, Daniel is very sexually inexperienced. Didn't he lose his virginity to Sinead in a cupboard?

lizzieoak · 28/01/2018 19:58

Well, yes, sexually, but in all ways really. Experience with women, workmates, bosses, friends, etc. Experience in how to handle what life throws at you. Experience in how to moderate your emotions.

I thought Luke was a stretch, but at least Luke was emotionally mature.

Frillyhorseyknickers · 29/01/2018 22:17

the Carla/Daniel story is batshit isn’t it?

Carol1 · 30/01/2018 10:12

Yes

PaddysMarket · 30/01/2018 12:55

Rosie will need to be written out for a while when she's on maternity leave, maybe she'll remember that Pat was in the office and he'll hold her hostage for a few months.

eddiemairswife · 30/01/2018 14:46

To be honest Rosie hasn't made any interesting contributions since her return. Have she and Sophie still got the window-cleaning round?

Kikashi · 30/01/2018 17:10

Sophie is a dreadful actress - she wouldn't be missed. I think the writers have been reading the forums again - banter in the bar with Peter about wrestlers (after we all commented on how dull the pub and Peter were). Liz mentioning Betty.

The pub was meant to be a little goldmine but peter has complained it is barely making a profit. Poor Simon I fear for his inheritance.

ShowerGel9 · 30/01/2018 17:22

Totally agree about the actress that plays sophie. She is so wooden and all she does is look concerned and talk quietly through her very small mouth. I remember when she was getting married to that blond girl and it didn't happen. All I remember was sophie running around in a massive white dress and holding it up to run around in and absolutely shouting and balling in a very fake distressed manner

lizzieoak · 30/01/2018 17:28

Between Simon stealing and breaking bottles and Toyah throwing drinks on Carla and Michelle, maybe it’s eating into the profit margin.

ShowerGel9 · 30/01/2018 17:38

I wish there was a character who was a really tite arse skint flint with their money. They never ate out or went to the pub. It made them a real recluse on the street. You could have so many science where it discreetly shows them trying to save money. Even tho they wouldn't have many scenes in he pub/cafe etc they could have many chatting on the street, in someone else house, at work. The doctors. The red rec. I just think that alot if the character reference very similar. Easy with money. Will explode into a confrontation if pushed. (Not like me that is shy and avoids confrontations are all costs). I can't think of one character that is shy.

ShowerGel9 · 30/01/2018 17:39

Alot of the characters personalities *

lizzieoak · 30/01/2018 17:44

Norris used to be very tight, but they don’t bring it up anymore. Roy used to be more careful than tight, but again, they don’t bring it up anymore. The nuances of the characters have gotten lost, imo.

Kikashi · 30/01/2018 17:59

What was that with David, Shona and Maria with their Costa Coffee cups? Shona works in a cafe and David makes coffee for his customers. Obviously paid for product placement but where is this mythical Costa?

Kikashi · 30/01/2018 18:04

Mick Johnson from Brookside may be coming in as Liz's new love interest

Kikashi · 30/01/2018 18:05

I hope Tim isn't leaving for good .

EachandEveryone · 30/01/2018 18:33

Oh I loved Mick. Am I imagining it or was Sheila Corkhill in it at one point?

EdithWeston · 30/01/2018 18:38

Yes, wasn't she Stella's mother, therefore Eva and Leanne's DGran, and Simon and Oliver's DGreatGran

That's one thing which is still a strength - the matriarchy of 4 generations Audrey/Gail/Sarah/Bethany

SheepySheepy · 30/01/2018 18:49

Love Audrey. I'd like her to live forever. I miss Blanche!

Kikashi · 30/01/2018 21:29

The Norris actor is having an extended break with no return date (think he is currently meant to be with Emily looking after Freda in Scotland). Hope he returns. Will Mary and her family basically take over his house?
