If they keep bringing old faces back then they need to use them and work out proper long term storylines. Apparently the producers paid megabucks to get Peter and Toyah back - but to what end? Two total drips! and very marginal characters. Peter used to be fun but now...

Hate the sound of the David storyline. Just for once we had a happy storyline with him and the lovely Shona, so they spoil it just to tick boxes. And the Eva thing is ridiculous if she hands the baby over to Toyah. Why on earth wouldn't she keep it?

I think they confuse the presence of the actor on the cast with what it actually means to have the chatacter back.

I stopped watching Eastenders about the time they brought Den back, because they brought back a cardboard version of the character.

I hated Corrie bringing back Phelan, and t's now just repetitive and dragging - there no suspense or hook to it. I'm hoping Pete and Toyah will become more interesting - not by one overblown storyline after another, but simply by closely observed well-eriited daily life.

Anyone got a spoiler about how long it will take for the Phelan storyline to end. And for Carla to leave again? The programme would be immensely improved by both those things.

What age is Eva meant to be? She said she wasn't ready for a baby but she must be in her late 20's?

clawdy I agree. Brookside imploded as the stories got more and more ridiculous and sensational. Corrie seems to be heading the same way. There are so, so many nasty detective, murder/rape style dramas on TV - I don't need that reproduced on a soap. I want a bit of kitchen sink drama, a bit of comedy - some warmth and a bit of sensation now and again.

I've just checked Eva on CorrieWiki and she was born early 1988, so nearly 29. They'll have filmed their birthday week by now. Wonder if it'll be mentioned (loads of characters don't seem to celebrate or even mention birthdays) or if it'll be a 'everyone will notice I'm not drinking' storyline.

How about Peter with Shona? I could imagine them smouldering. After David's & Toyah's ordeals they could find solace in each other. (Of course, this would result in an unplanned pregnancy. The Medical Centre needs to put on a few contaception masterclasses at the Rovers).

I'm not sure I saw in the 'joiners and leavers' on digitalspy that Andy was leaving, unless it was a long time ago and I missed it, but certainly nothing since the shooting. So... perhaps he WILL be coming back?!

I don't agree. Not for Corrie, anyhow, not any more. Rather like the myth of there being 'strong women' (because there used to be)

The idea that villains get their comeuppance died when Tracey was released from prison on wholly improbably grounds. You dinmt get released for 'error in the forensics' when you have admitted at trial striking the killer blow and have engaged in a lengthy DV-based cover up which shows the premeditation.

So perhaps he can continue, slaying away, all year.

It could well be Anna's last actual appearance. Don't suppose there will be a "Free Windass" campaign like there was for Deirdre (when the media got Tony Blair to add his support!)
