Slightly copying the old thread's title...

Come on Corrie writers! Get a grip! This is the thread to moan about the utter tosh that we end up watching, or in some cases to praise the actors because some of them are actually pretty good! Let's discuss!

OP posts:

Looking foreard to seeing another street outside the main one. HAs to be good. I’d crack up in Devs. It being able to see out all day. Like being in a cave. Surely if you own three business you pay someone to do dull stuff. Unless he’s never making money.

Realistically he should have good hobbies and few decent holidays yet same standard of living as those on mim wage. Just what’s the point working hard if never do anything with it.

lizzieoak · 30/01/2018 22:05

Dev used to golf (badly). It is odd he doesn’t live off the street, but then Jasmine’s family (before the dad took off) were meant to be comfortably off yet inexplicably wanted to live on the street. Audrey is the only one who’s managed to stay away (in terms of home I mean).

Akire · 30/01/2018 22:14

That’s another strange one Gail is on 60s? Didn’t work. Audrey 75-85 works full time! Just why wouldn’t ylu enjoy retirement and do something?

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 30/01/2018 22:26

Apparently Audrey is 77 and Gail is 59.

Akire · 30/01/2018 22:40

THAnks Donny did She have big pay out from previous husbands ? Watched last 3y then had 20y gap! She didn’t seem short of cash. Did she sell house to David and Kyle or something?

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 30/01/2018 22:45

Yes i think she did. The house is definitkey David’s now but I’m not sure how that came about.

Akire · 30/01/2018 22:47

YES I remember she was paying them rent for box room but at time she was cleaning at restaurant for Nik. Maybe Michael although living in bedsit left her thousands!

GrooovyLass · 30/01/2018 22:49

She did but that was because Nigel Havers (can't remember the character's name) diddled her wasn't it?

Irl Sue Nichols is only about 7 years older than Helen Worth!

SheepySheepy · 30/01/2018 23:37

From that article: Coronation Street is expanding its Trafford-based as part of its move to six nights a week last year.

It's only on 3 still isn't it?

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 30/01/2018 23:43

It was on Sunday nights for a while last year but I don’t think it was on Tuesday and Thursdays. Maybe it was! I couldn’t cope with that. Far too much.

EdithWeston · 31/01/2018 07:07

It's already 6 episodes a week, so moving them to one a day for six days would just be a scheduling issue.

I'm enjoying Classic Corrie. Two episodes a week - with better characters and more interesting/rewarding stories.

It was very popular when it was on Sunday nights but I think there were a lot of complaints from many quarters that a soap wasn't suitable viewing for a Sunday night (but nasty, murder dramas are?).

Corrie still pulls in better viewing figures than other terrestial shows. It is still "the Jewel in the Crown". I think it is a habit for a lot of people and easy to have on when multi tasking (especially if watching on catch up, recorded). Just keep hoping it will improve so kind of half following.

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 31/01/2018 18:57

Corrie used to be Sunday night type viewing but the current stuff is nowhere near light enough. Sunday nights are for heartbeat, call the midwife, glenroe (or was that just me?)

CheeseandFickles · 31/01/2018 19:37

That was some wonky coffin carrying

Plumes · 31/01/2018 20:38

Sophie is so dull and earnest compared to Ranah. She doesn't stand a chance Grin

Plumes · 31/01/2018 20:41

At least bloke who plays Zeedan is getting to try out a bit of acting rather than just lounging about in chef's whites.

Clawdy · 31/01/2018 20:53

That was an odd scene with Aidan and his sister. Don't tell me he's going to give Carla a kidney and die!

woodhill · 31/01/2018 20:54

Where's Ken, is he the invisible man in his own home.

Does Steve no longer live at flat with Liz

Plumes · 31/01/2018 20:57

What happened to Carla's killer bro? Is he still on the run or is he back in the clink? I bet they'll have en emotional reunion where he offers her his offal.

Akire · 31/01/2018 22:24

I’m glad step was back. Where they
Both orphans? Let’s see what Eileen’s spider radar does when she hears about the garage.

Yes Steve must moved into magic Ken’s? They do work well together mind. How is Liz affording rent is she’s not working?

Feel sorry for Naz why not let the be happy? Presume she’s present as well just to complicate matters!
I be annoyed if I was Sophie all other gay characters get plenty of
Interest yet she only had one girl friend and that ended badly.

Akire · 31/01/2018 22:26

I missed 5 min at start so apart from Roy finding Carla and Gary and Phealon punch up, why was Tim
Running away?

eddiemairswife · 31/01/2018 22:32

Tim is taking Faye to stay with his dad to get her away from Phelan. Is this the first we have heard of Tim's dad,and doesn't Faye do her GCSEs this year?

CoolCarrie · 31/01/2018 22:33

Because he doesn’t want to have anything to do with Eileen or Phelan and wants to protect Fay. He is going to stay with his dad.

cloudyweewee · 31/01/2018 22:35

Steph's parents were sitting next to her at the funeral. Liz does.have a job - at the Rovers.
