Slightly copying the old thread's title...

Come on Corrie writers! Get a grip! This is the thread to moan about the utter tosh that we end up watching, or in some cases to praise the actors because some of them are actually pretty good! Let's discuss!

And I agree that the Summer thing is overdone. She's 13/14 not 7. My grandmother was in service at that age during WW1. Cleaning a small modern flat and putting on a wash is not difficult, she's not doing his personal care. I doubt that Billy is demanding cordon bleu cooking either.

thenightsky · 15/02/2018 09:08

I loved the scene with Gail reminiscing about her previous relationships. I wonder if they slotted that in because they know we are all watching Classic Corrie and comparing.

CoolCarrie · 15/02/2018 09:40

Eileen asked Phelan to put Summer up from school.

honeyroar · 15/02/2018 12:40

I had to go to bed early, so missed the second part, but surely Phelan would be doing a runner at this point when the pond is about to be drained rather than planning anything else??

woodhill · 15/02/2018 13:26

Is Michelle's son the original one or the mix up baby and who did he live with in flat. Mind gone blank

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 15/02/2018 13:51

I had to laugh at Bethany asking Gail which of her husbands she would bring back.

Martin Platt cheated on her, Richard Hillman tried to kill her and her children, Joe McIntyre got her into loads of debt, and Michael Rodwell was a convicted burglar who had tried to burgle her house and after marrying her moved in with her mortal enemy Eileen! Grin

eddiemairswife · 15/02/2018 13:59

I think the son is the one she gave birth to, not the one she brought up.

deadringer · 15/02/2018 14:18

Alex is Michelle's biological son who got swapped at birth. He was very troubled I think and things ended badly between them but I can't remember the details now. I would assume that Phelan is planning to remove the bodies from the water and dump them somewhere else.

squoosh · 15/02/2018 16:02

Can you imagine having to fish two corpses from a pond in the dead of night? I wouldn't have the stomach for that kind of skullduggery.

yawning801 · 15/02/2018 16:18

Ouch squoosh. I've had flu and a bug the past week and that's made me want to heave.

I'll start a new thread when we hit page 40 as I've got an idea for a title. Not meaning to be greedy or anything!

And I notice that Angie's depression has miraculously cleared up...

How would Liz know Michelle's son if he is the biological one? Haven't years gone by without him being mentioned? Presumably Michelle has photos of Ryan knocking around, so I could understand that, but to recognise this one seems very unlikely.

EdithWeston · 15/02/2018 20:08

"How would Liz know Michelle's son if he is the biological one? "

Because he lived with them in The Rovers for a while

CoolCarrie · 15/02/2018 21:35

I thought Phelan was going to push the site manager woman into the pond at one point, another death to add to his collection !

keepondreaming · 15/02/2018 23:36

@CoolCarrie So did I Shock

woodhill · 16/02/2018 09:01

Yes same here.

Is he going to become an expert diver, maybe he will drown

GlacindaTheTroll · 16/02/2018 09:07

Perhaps he'll arrange overnight drainage and go for a little after-dark fishing for body parts. Then have to get rid of them somewhere else. And have Lady Macbeth dreams of the bone he left behind/dropped?

Because bodies wouldn't necessarily still be intact after a few months in water, would they

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 16/02/2018 13:29

I was a bit confused about the trainer that popped up a few weeks ago. Phelan has wrapped both the bodies in black polythene. How would a shoe wriggle loose?

thenightsky · 16/02/2018 13:33

I think what they are trying to do is build tension and scary atmosphere, but in reality are just pissing us off and boring us.

Did anyone used to watch Brookside? Remember the tension and OMG moments when Mandy Jordache and her daughters killed Trevor and buried him under the patio after weeks of having him rotting in a rolled up carpet in the extension? Then, when it couldn't get worse, the patio had to be dug up! Argh. That was really good.

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 16/02/2018 13:38

Yes they’ve gotten it badly wrong in Corrie. Every time I see phelan I mute the TV. I’m so bored of him being menacing or sly.

PhelanThePain · 16/02/2018 14:35
Grin
thenightsky · 16/02/2018 15:15

Suits you!! Who were you before, if its not too rude to ask?

PhelanThePain · 16/02/2018 15:18

I was donny.

SymphonyofShadows · 16/02/2018 15:26

The Green Hand of Trevor Jordache

thenightsky · 16/02/2018 15:35

The Trevor Jordache story went on for weeks or even months if I recall correctly. I'm sure it never felt dragged out and boring like the Phelan story.
