Come on Corrie writers! Get a grip! This is the thread to moan about the utter tosh that we end up watching, or in some cases to praise the actors because some of them are actually pretty good! Let's discuss!

Just saw a picture of the original 1960 cast. There were 20 of them. Enough said!

The only thing Luke did that seemed a bit out of character was hook up with Tracey. I don't watch now - has she been mourning his death? The writers seem to forget about past connections when they kill people off.

Luke was probably too good an actor to stay. I liked Sarah Lancashire 's reply when asked if she would ever return to the cobbles. She said "No,because the show I was in doesn't exist any more."

Where has Sean been sacked from?

They will never get rid of Sophie. I think the actress has connections to the producers.

Sean's been sacked from the pub and the medical centre, so he's unemployed atm.

Why did anyone feel the need to do a kidney transplant storyline again?

Especially as they've never seemed interested in medically plausible long-term follow-up (eg Tracey during pregnancy and after delivery when drug dosage/effectiveness would need careful consideration). Presumably Steve will impregnate her for a third time, just before they split up ..... again.

Gail was a so much stronger character then. And Deirdre's attitude to candidacy as a councillor, and conduct if her campaign, is so much better done than the pale imitations we get now.

Has he - why? I hate Sean’s character. And I’m not keen on what I’ve heard about Antony Cotton either.

He got sacked from the medical centre because he spoke about Angie's postnatal depression and George's allergy in the cafe and someone reported him. Then in the pub he had a go at Jude at Angie because he thought it was them and the medical centre manager walked in and sacked him and Peter sacked him for abusing customers.

Surely after spending so many years at the pub he can't just be sacked like that?

They need to have a mundane storyline (no murders, affairs, etc), just like in real life, follow it through in great detail, with lots of natural humour so that we can feel some empathy with the characters.

Why the hell does Eva keep on saying "pigging" all the time? Who would even say that in RL?

Corrie hasn't been accurate for quite some time now.

But yes, you can sack someone immediately for gross misconduct.

Being a bit gobby and rude to customers that are also your housemates isn't gross misconduct imo. Sean should get on to acas 😂

I'm loving classic Corrie. Some great characters and dialogue. Smallish cast. It's travelled too far from its roots now.

Very disappointed that Luke didn't make some miraculous escape and that Phelan is STILL at large. Surely no one is enjoying this storyline any more? I've been wanting him gone since he first came back. Let's just hope this stuff with Seb is leading to it coming to an end rather than to Seb also being murdered 🙄

My DP keeps commenting about Eva's 'twins' being on show too. She's got a great figure but I don't need to see them twice a night . I'm sure most men will disagree.

I think Gemma must be due some scenes so maybe we'll see what's happening with the poor acting posh boyfriend

Can't see Seb being murdered - isn't Phelan setting him up for Luke's murder? Fingerprints on the gun......Not that it makes sense because can't think of any motive there!

I think the actress who plays Eva has had some 'work' done a few months ago, hence all the low cut tops and inappropriate clothes. Who has Corrie got in wardrobe? Sophie, Maria & Toyah look like they've been scrounging through the bins and Liz & Eva looks like they got their clothes from a strip club. The guys aren't much better. Steve, Dev and Aidan could do with a re-measuring and better fitting clothes too.

Stop her face definitely looks like she's had work, she's quite frozen in her expressions and her lips look odd compared with how they used to. Shame as she is quite attractive and only 34!

The scripts all sound as if they were written on the bus on the way to school. eg Kate says to Aliya "I don't want to leave you on your own". Aliya replies "I just want to be on my own" (but with the inflection in the wrong place. And then they all go the RR anyway and Kate buggers off to Devon.

Why the rush ? Who gets married in dark wet weekday in January just because?
Would police let Kate just leave? Given she was flat mate and might want to ask questions?
