Anyone else looking forward to this? The writer also wrote the recent Robbie Coltrane drama, National Treasure, and Sarah Lancashire is always superb.

The little girl in the kitchen 😓

viques · 17/01/2018 21:31

Masmati, sorry Lucian.

blueskyinmarch · 17/01/2018 21:31

That drug den was actually much too organised, clean and tidy to be realistic. As horrific as it seemed it was nowhere horrific enough to be realistic.

This programme is reinforcing for me that my decision to leave social work was the right one.

viques · 17/01/2018 21:31

Msamati!

blueskyinmarch · 17/01/2018 21:32

The grandad seems to be very genuine. I like him.

LineysRuff · 17/01/2018 21:37

So boy in foster family is only 15? Ok.

ssd · 17/01/2018 21:40

it was the son in the foster family who killed her, wasnt it

winchesterfan · 17/01/2018 21:42

I'm really feeling sorry for the dad, definitely don't think he killed her but it seems to obvious that it was the foster families son.

I wonder if the foster mum was following them and she caught up with Kiri when she ran off from her dad. Her dad said she was worried about loosing her name, so maybe she had an argument with the foster mum about it and she flipped and strangled her?

SoleBizzz · 17/01/2018 21:43

ssd I feel same.
The Grandad has a murky past.

ssd · 17/01/2018 21:43

Sarah Lancashire is going to end up helping Kiri's dad find the real killer, the foster family son, whilst the media try to find Kiri's dad and keep blaming SL

viques · 17/01/2018 21:45

sigh.

Mumsnet has ruined me for serious drama. The son got his dad a drink of water and my first thought was "Yuck I do hope that is not a brothel penis beaker."

ssd · 17/01/2018 21:47

yes, grandad has a dodgy past

didn't SL meet the foster family son in the park, where Kiri was found dead? and SS told his mum he wasn't in school when he said he was...also did you see the way the mum flinched when he tried to touch her face to remove an eyelash, he's obviously done something they are trying to hide

I think the mu knows it was her son and she's trying to cover it up, think the son was either violent or abusing Kiri and the mum knew and didnt do anything

Autumnchill · 17/01/2018 21:51

I'm going for Foster Son but mother seems a bit unhinged.

ssd · 17/01/2018 21:52

maybe the son seen the mum do it?

we'll have this solved by 10pm!

Autumnchill · 17/01/2018 21:53

Tonight is 2/4

Autumnchill · 17/01/2018 21:53

Oh you mean MN detectives will have it solved Grin

LineysRuff · 17/01/2018 21:54

I can't catch a word Sarah Lancashire is saying ffs

ssd · 17/01/2018 21:55

I have subtitles on

Trailedanderror · 17/01/2018 21:57

Woah! That was a bit left field from SL.

MajesticWhine · 17/01/2018 22:06

It's very good this. Foster family are weird as heck.
I put subtitles on too. Mainly because we are "open plan" and family members kept talking and clattering. Grr.

GypsieQueen · 17/01/2018 22:06

Loving it so far, though didn't understand all of it tonight. Does anyone know who the woman was who the Grandad went to visit?

VaselineHero · 17/01/2018 22:08

I thought that woman was kiri's maternal grandmother?

SoleBizzz · 17/01/2018 22:08

Madame of the brothel he visited when his Wife died.

Springiscoming123 · 17/01/2018 22:09

yes grandmother

SoleBizzz · 17/01/2018 22:09

Oh other woman was Grandmother.
