Did anyone catch this this morning? Same old format and a bit boring. It is long overdue a makeover.

However, I love it Blush

Who's watching? Single mum today. She looks like Sheridan Smith

I like her (so far!). She's got her kids best interests at heart. Rocky life so far. Fingers crossed for a better life for them.

I missed the beginning. Why does she want to move to Australia? And did she really just criticise the pool? It's not like she has a pool in Halifax

Greensleeves · 17/01/2018 11:15

I'm watching. Gorgeous mum and kids.

LIZS · 17/01/2018 11:17

She wants to be just her and kids, thinks kids grow up too quickly in UK. Ironic considering she was pg at 16 but maybe she fears same will happen to her 15yo. Not sure how likely she is to get a mortgage.

CatsEyes11 · 17/01/2018 11:19

Does today's lady live in lala land? Confused

witchofzog · 17/01/2018 11:24

She does have a sought after profession though. But she has said herself she may end up working more hours in Australia

Greensleeves · 17/01/2018 11:29

I think a lot of mums who have children very young fear the same thing happening with their daughters.

She seems like a really good mum to me. But unrealistic, like everyone else on this programme

Missushb · 17/01/2018 11:32

What's her job again? Was in the kitchen and missed that bit!

witchofzog · 17/01/2018 11:32

She is a social worker

LIZS · 17/01/2018 11:32

Social worker

Dillite2 · 17/01/2018 11:33

The mother is getting on my goat. She has a budget of £150k and yet expects being able to live in a palace with a massive pool?

Missushb · 17/01/2018 11:33

Thanks

Missushb · 17/01/2018 11:34

I think the daughter is more realistic than the Mum

LIZS · 17/01/2018 11:36

I was just thinking that. £200 could easily get swallowed up .

KungFuEric · 17/01/2018 11:37

You'd imagine the mother was the 15 year old the way she was saying everything would be fine and they'd live off rice.

Dillite2 · 17/01/2018 11:43

It's so funny hearing that young student speak with her mixture of Liverpudlian and Australian accents

LIZS · 17/01/2018 11:47

Update is that they haven't gone due to distance from family. They had an extended holiday though Hmm

NancyDonahue · 17/01/2018 11:53

Not surprised. She's got too much going against her. One wage and a reluctant 15 year old. Older kids need to be 100% happy or it's a no go.

CaptainHammer · 17/01/2018 12:34

I think today’s is the most unrealistic I’ve seen. Ah well the free flights and week must have been handy Hmm

NancyDonahue · 17/01/2018 12:44

I do wonder if there was more to her wanting to move as far away as possible than she let on. Domestic violence was briefly mentioned. I actually feel quite gutted for her. Hopefully she can make her life better here.

OP posts:
LIZS · 17/01/2018 12:44

Apparently they stayed another 3 weeks!

CaptainHammer · 17/01/2018 12:47

I missed the DV mention, that would make sense though Nancy

LIZS · 17/01/2018 12:49

It sounded a long time ago and it wasn't clear what contact, if any, the children had with their father/s or paternal family.

salsamummy · 17/01/2018 13:04

she is able to work part time in England and claim benefits. Is it similar in OZ?

salsamummy · 17/01/2018 13:13

and do you still get all your benefits if you are out of the country for a month.
