Did anyone catch this this morning? Same old format and a bit boring. It is long overdue a makeover.

However, I love it Blush

They really were a lovely couple today! It's so nice when you see two people who both seem so genuine and nice and are clearly meant to be together without being lovey-dovey wet blankets.

LillianGish · 06/02/2018 19:29

Thanks for tip-off of website updates. Not that many of them actually make the move in the end do they?

Butterymuffin · 07/02/2018 11:43

Watching today's revisited. They're a nice family but the move was going to leave them worse off, and she would need to work evenings and weekends too. And now the job situation is still only fixed term for her. But they are loving the beach lifestyle.

NancyDonahue · 07/02/2018 11:46

A lovely family again today. Gorgeous kids, incredibly laid back and easy going. From the update it looks like they really are living the dream Smile

buttery I guess once all the kids get into school and more settled dad will be able to get some work so mum can ease off a bit. I think it said he had a career in IT before becoming a FTD.

Sad for the daughter, Sophie, in today's family. She doesn't seem to get much of moving down under with her mum and step dad. She's had to leave her dad and friends behind and she's missed out on going to university because of visa issues probably because she would have to pay international student fees whereas if she stayed in Scotland she would have got free university tuition. I found her life depressing at 18 and already shacked up with a boyfriend doing a childcare correspondence course

Hhakuna · 10/02/2018 11:10

No episode yesterday and it seems its on a break while the winter olympics is on but from Monday next week repeats are on BBC 2 at 11am

Jammycustard · 13/02/2018 11:35

On BBC 2 at the moment.

Slightly demanding child.

Butterymuffin · 14/02/2018 11:46

Watching today's. I wouldn't go in her position. Having kids so far away from any family help will be much harder than they think.

cushioncovers · 16/02/2018 11:15

And slightly demanding mother as well.

Petalflowers · 26/02/2018 11:20

Anyone watching?

Sweetpea55 · 26/02/2018 11:32

Watching it today,,the woman seems really selfish

shhhgobacktosleep · 26/02/2018 11:32

Me. I always think the “spending more time together” is a huge red herring because effectively they’re on holiday !!! I think they should actually have them go to work when they’re there to get a more realistic view

Fengshui · 26/02/2018 11:39

Watching today, but the woman's voice just drones on and on to my ears so finding it hard going.

user49er · 26/02/2018 11:40

The mother on today is horrible- she made her middle child feel like shit because he chose UK - he looked so deflated poor lad, then he changed it to obviously please her...

Fengshui · 26/02/2018 11:41

I agree with you too shhhh. People still have to work in Oz. I like it though because it makes me feel 'what is missing in my life that makes this attractive' and hopefully making the changes rquired at home. (For example, this year we are going to try and get a holiday in the sun).

Petalflowers · 26/02/2018 11:53

For once, the work-life balance has seemed to improved. However, that rented house is far bigger than the ones they could afford. Also. Chefs hours aren’t always child friendly, although they are getting days off. I foresee the husband running a restaurent one day, and getting back to the long hours.

Cherrypie32 · 27/02/2018 11:07

Haven’t watched for ages but...main reason to go is the weather???? Just go to Spain.

greendale17 · 27/02/2018 11:28

Wife in today’s episode is annoying

NancyDonahue · 27/02/2018 11:59

It was nice to see a long term update today and a family that have made it work. They are so laid back about it all. Ridiculous about his aunt and uncle cutting ties. Even if my own children decided to make a move like that I would support them fully, you can't control your family and make them unhappy Angry

Cherrypie32 · 27/02/2018 12:25

It was good to see the reality of living life a long way from friends and family and what you know. Then were very honest about how difficult is really must be.

BringMeTea · 27/02/2018 12:32

Yes it was interesting. I am amazed they went as neither of them had a specific skill (he was working for the cleaning company his brother ran iirc) and doubtless would never get a visa now. Good for them. Yeah, that whole aunt and uncle thing was very odd.

LIZS · 27/02/2018 12:35

Very bitter sweet outcome.

Fengshui · 27/02/2018 12:43

Oh I only saw the first bit - their aunt and uncle cut ties????!!!! Really? How awful.

NancyDonahue · 27/02/2018 14:36

Fengshui Yes in the first update in 2013 it said they hadn't spoken for a year, then in the 2017 update it said they were still not speaking.
