Did anyone catch this this morning? Same old format and a bit boring. It is long overdue a makeover.

However, I love it Blush

A good one today. A young couple with supportive family and friends. It must be much easier to make the move before having children - get settled as a couple and get settled into careers. I hope they do it!

yesterday's episode was very positive. Much younger and less deluded than most.Grin

Aussiemum78 · 16/01/2018 07:45

I need to find this on YouTube 😂

We do watch escape to the country here. That's hilarious to us because the "spacious" houses look tiny compared to here. and they all want a country house...that's walking distance to everything 😂

museumum · 16/01/2018 08:03

They should make this programme more like kirsty and Phils love it list it - have them visit oz maybe but also have someone sort their uk life out too. Then they choose.

MaitlandGirl · 16/01/2018 08:30

We live in australia and my parents (in the UK) love watching Wanted so they can say how people don’t have a clue what it’s really like out here.

They never seem to want the important things with a house and are stuck on the bloody pool and being close to the beach. No one ever thinks about the costs of education, electricity or drs.

We have to pay school fees (even in state run schools), our last months electricity bill was over $450 (air con is a must but very expensive to run) and you pay every time you see a dr/get referred to a specialist. The only advantage to paying is that you can get an X-ray/MRI/CT scan within days where we live.

I love living out here but it’s the same life, just sunnier - although the sun isn’t a great thing when you’ve had 42C+ days for nearly 2 weeks and all you can smell is smoke from the bushfires.

LoadsaBlusher · 16/01/2018 11:18

Anybody watching today’s ? 🤦🏻‍♀️ These houses are beautiful and this couple are totally dissing them ...

Can’t wait to see what they work as and if this is realistic or not ?

They currently seem delusional and totally unrealistic in their expectations

crumbsinthecutlerydrawer · 16/01/2018 11:23

What is she on about not wanting to do the work that the house needs? They’ll be renting, you can’t do anything. They’re just on this to be on tv.

crumbsinthecutlerydrawer · 16/01/2018 11:23

They could just move out of London for the life they want, they don’t seem to have looked into this at all.

SwedishEdith · 16/01/2018 11:27

And how much would those extra 2 years of studying take?

These two (well, her really) seem really immature.

crumbsinthecutlerydrawer · 16/01/2018 11:28

So these two don’t currently have the skills to take with them?

Try again in about 5 years would be my advice.

SwedishEdith · 16/01/2018 11:28

Cost rather than take.

And although "in Melbourne" these houses are about 40 miles out.

crumbsinthecutlerydrawer · 16/01/2018 11:29

This is cracking me up today. Did he just do a piece to camera outside Spearmint Rhino?!

SwedishEdith · 16/01/2018 11:30

I don't know the immigration process in detail but would they actually meet it?

crumbsinthecutlerydrawer · 16/01/2018 11:33

I thought that, they don’t own a property so suggests to me they have little savings to fund themselves until they have jobs sorted and neither seemready to start working immediately from what they’ve been told.

Not a dig at renters, I’m one myself.

I genuinely think for what they’re looking for, they could just move elsewhere in the UK.

LIZS · 16/01/2018 11:35

No parks in London!

SwedishEdith · 16/01/2018 11:48

The Siwak family are currently living in Melbourne, Australia!

Since their trial week they found out that Edna was pregnant with their second child. She was born in Australia in October.

Jotham loves being a big brother to Neriah and Edna is really enjoying staying at home with the kids. Daniel has found good work with a local agency that has a salary to match.

The family are really excited they took the leap, and say- “Melbourne is better than we could've ever imagined!"

SwedishEdith · 16/01/2018 11:49

Genuinely shocked as wonder what criteria they met. Are they on a holiday visa (it says currently)?

DuckOffAutocorrectYouShiv · 16/01/2018 11:50

Weird episode.

I find it hard to believe that they would meet visa requirements and all the jobs stuff implied that they both needed to complete further training in order to secure work in their chosen fields. Never mind the challenge of actually finding the jobs.

I agree that they could just move out of London for a better quality of life. All the talk of crime and high crime in the UK. Crime rates’ vary hugely across the UK Confused. They don’t have London-centric jobs, they are prepared to move across the world, so why not look at other communities closer to home?

Baffling.

As for the financial breakdown. “When they factor in Edna & Daniel’s earnings...” What earnings?! They aren’t even qualified for these fictional jobs yet?! [facepalm]

DuckOffAutocorrectYouShiv · 16/01/2018 11:51

They went?! Shock Of all the families on this show, I expected these two to be the biggest tyre kickers.

LIZS · 16/01/2018 11:58

I am surprised. How are they surviving on one salary and with a new baby? Would they have needed private healthcare?

LoadsaBlusher · 16/01/2018 12:03

Crazy
I was also wondering bout the visa situation
It was so hard for me even to get a years travelling visa and they seem to get a visa as a van driver and unskilled recruitment worker

Yes agree they seem so immature

salsamummy · 16/01/2018 19:03

Yes so many have been unable to move because of the changes in visa requirements.
I only waited 2 days for an MRI scan here in the UK.

LoadsaBlusher · 16/01/2018 19:45

It’s car crash tv though isn’t it
I find myself getting all irate watching it , especially now they are totally holding back the job element until halfway through the episode

The old series I’m sure they told you their jobs at the start - so it would be something like “ today we have 30 year old beautician Helen and 31 year old mechanic Dave “ etc

Now they don’t mention it til actual jobs section ...

As soon as they said van driver today I’m sitting talking to the telly “ van driver ! Van driver ! How’s he going to get a visa “

I need to get out more ha ha Grin

SwedishEdith · 16/01/2018 20:22

A few people asking about the visa on the FB page but no explanation yet.

KungFuEric · 17/01/2018 11:12

On first impressions i think this family are very much in it for the free holiday.
