Did anyone catch this this morning? Same old format and a bit boring. It is long overdue a makeover.

However, I love it Blush

Another family with a relatively newborn baby Confused I couldn't even decide what to make for dinner in those early baby days, let alone making decisions about moving across the globe. Can't imagine my postpartum hormones would have coped with the scenario--yet in both cases, it seems like the women are the driving force.

cantthinkofanythingwitty · 04/01/2018 11:46

I've just caught this today. Do you not find out whether they make the move?

CloudNinetyNine · 04/01/2018 11:47

The third house was lovely - wonder how warm it would be in winter - older homes in NZ are not known for their huge amounts of insulation.

Petalflowers · 04/01/2018 11:50

Gi thought the same about the newborn baby. I don't know how long before going you sign up. I couldn't do a long haul holiday, on camera with a young baby (and four kids).

£110000 for a four bedroom house!

Does the girls dad have to give permission for her to leave the country? Her relationship with her dad seem to be ignored.

Have the family factored childcare into the equation, as it seems a grandparent looks after the children alot?

Did they go or not?

Petalflowers · 04/01/2018 11:53

Just looked on the Wanted Down Under family. Due to family health issues, ,they are still in Scotland. They may review the situation and go in 2019/2020.

metalmum15 · 04/01/2018 12:06

I love this programme, didn't realise it was back on. I actually know 2 families who have relocated to Australia in the last few years, they love it and have made it home, but I'm amazed by how tiny their houses and gardens are, especially when they spend so much time outside. Certainly not the 4 bed house with swimming pool that people assume they'll get.

salsamummy · 04/01/2018 13:46

I wonder whether Lindy had PND.

Arronsmissus · 04/01/2018 18:20

My neighbours went on it.

They didnt go live there but she had an affair with his best mate😂

NancyDonahue · 05/01/2018 12:30

Oh I absolutely loved today's family. I think it's one of my favourite episodes ever. The parents are so loving, funny and down to earth. I found myself genuinely LOL. I even watched the family and friends video for once Grin.

So funny that they were saying lots of things in the houses they viewed were 'dated' and then the Estate Agent said the same about their UK house Grin.

If they do go, our loss is definitely Australia's gain.

Go and watch and get your heart nicely warmed ❤

Nancy they were really lovely weren't they! Definitely one of the best episodes.

CaptainHammer · 05/01/2018 15:54

Today’s family seemed nice! Facebook says they are making the move “The Fearon family are still living in the UK, but they have started the immigration process.
Sheldon is currently undertaking the necessary assessments. The family are all working tirelessly to make the move to Australia a reality.“

I laughed about the dated comments too, she was not happy to have the same said about her house [grjn]

CaptainHammer · 05/01/2018 15:54

*Grin

Oldowl · 05/01/2018 18:08

How nice that their first priority for a house was near a good school and a church community and not a pool and walk in wardrobes.

NancyDonahue · 06/01/2018 12:41

Oldowl That was so refreshing.

I loved that the dad wanted to knock out the walk in wardrobe to make the bedroom bigger, when most people go crazy over how wonderful they are Grin

See I watched this and thought he was putting some serious pressure on her to vote Aus. Especially when he told her she was “toxic” to his dreams. 🤔

KERALA1 · 07/01/2018 09:31

We call it the "would you swap your granny for a swimming pool " programme

Butterymuffin · 07/01/2018 23:54

I am off work this week so looking forward to watching some of the upcoming ones! Though tomorrow I have the dentist when it's on. But from Tuesday..

Vagndidit · 08/01/2018 14:38

Seems like recent changes to immigration rules is going to lead to very few people left eligible to move (like today's family). Time to change the tired old formula, BBC.

mumofblueeyes · 08/01/2018 19:54

When there was a big build up of 'difficult' times in today's episode I was expecting something a bit more dramatic to be honest. With both having mental health type issues I would have thought they would be better off staying where they have a close support network near them incase things got tough again. Lovely kids today, parents should be proud. Can't believe they couldn't find something more interesting to do in Melbourne than indoor climbing (easily done in home town of Portsmouth) and BBQ in rain. Didn't sell it to me! Couldn't work out they came in at £1600 more than the UK each month. Bills and Food were higher, she is a student and he wouldn't earn that much more? Love a bit of Wanted Down Under!

dolfinne · 08/01/2018 21:19

wouldnt she have to pay international student fees too ? it would be useful if they decided to mention that or how Australian Unis differ, that would be more interesting then showing them barbecue. ive no idea on Oz uni fees but wouldnt it make more sense to finish her degree in Uk then move

witchofzog · 09/01/2018 11:32

Anyone watching today?

NancyDonahue · 09/01/2018 11:33

Just started. She's a bit pushy. He's very reluctant. Same old!

Does Nicki Chapman ever actually go to Australia? The lighting on her is insane and artificial, they obviously want us to believe it’s the sun but there’s no way it is.

pinkginanyone · 09/01/2018 11:41

Had to turn it over..... dull as dish water those pair!

crumbsinthecutlerydrawer · 09/01/2018 11:44

I had to laugh at the shock of the price of HP sauce. It’s an import in Australia surely? I think if I was moving to a different country I could sacrifice a few condiments.
