Discovery of Witches will keep me going until November. It starts on Sky, 14th Sept. Time travel, a nice vampire, Mysterious spell book, the books (by Deborah Harkness) were great.

hudyerwheesht · 16/08/2018 07:37

Look what I took a photo of the other day!

Is it weird that even though the fictional Jamie Fraser didn't actually die on the moor I still felt a bit weepy when I saw it?!
Although it's probably just that it's quite a sad, eerie place, obviously.

Just seen that it's been confirmed S4 will begin on Amazon prime in the UK on 5th November.
I no longer work on Mondays so once everyone's out the house I'll be able to watch on Monday mornings.

squirrelclub · 19/08/2018 07:36

Good news re: Amazon Prime!

madamefraser · 19/08/2018 19:41

Still here...just waiting...just finished The Fiery Cross BIG BOOK , oh my goodness , was it massive ..but I enjoyed it for the most part..looking forward to November , but grrrr..working monday so will have to have my late night watching session as last year...

blibblibs · 19/08/2018 20:44

Still here, rewatching my favourite episodes and have started the books again Blush
I'm almost finished Black sails and keep expecting to see Jamie on one of the ships.
Don't think I'll bother with the spy who dumped me though, it's the whole story for me rather than just Sam, but the Americans on HH seemed to love it so will be good to see the reaction to it here.

breadwidow · 20/08/2018 10:34

Hiii also still here. Good news re prime. I saw something on an outlander Facebook group suggesting it would move to sky in the uk which would be a pain.

I'm off work sick and need a nice thing to watch in the vein of outlander. Any recommendations? I have tried black sails and couldn't get into it, is it worth another go? When does it get good?

blibblibs · 20/08/2018 16:06

It did take a while to get into Black Sails, I reckon it wasn't till the end of season one but DH wanted to watch it so I kept going. Really enjoying now though.
I'm going to do The Handmaid Tale next although everyone on HH suggests Poldark or Call the Midwife to fill droughtlander.

breadwidow · 20/08/2018 21:11

Ok, may give it another go. Already seen call the midwife & poldark, like em both. Used to like poldark more but then outlander came & took its crown.

Handmaids tale is very different to outlander, both heavy drama but I found it much harder going, no light relief. It's good but I didn't get through season 1, watching it was just too hard (plus the ads on all4 piss me off). Have you read the book (the handmaid's tale rather than outlander)? I have (ages ago, it's brilliant) & found the tv series tougher

Lessstressedhemum · 20/08/2018 21:20

I'm here. I really want to see TSWDM, but no one will go with me Sad. I've just read Discovery of Witches, it's not my usual thing but it was quite good.

I am just about to sneakily start to rewatch in preparation for November.

hudyerwheesht · 21/08/2018 12:31

I have a dilemma- following our visit to Culloden (see pic below!) DH is now interested in watching from the very start which obviously I'll join him in(only ever rewatched s1 and we have nothing to watch together at the moment) BUT no way we'll get through all 3 series before s4 starts in November!
I have to say the Culloden visit helped me understand a lot of the historical storyline in s2/3 as I was clearly too preoccupied with Jamie to take in much else.

susurration · 21/08/2018 13:57

Ahh lessstressed go by yourself! It's lovely going to the cinema alone. You don't have annoying people whispering in your ear!

Excited to see the release date as beginning of November. Droughtlander seems to be dragging at the moment. There is no good tv in the summer months.

breadwidow · 22/08/2018 18:44

Also kinda want to TSWDM but have no one to go with . . . May go alone but I kinda feel it's not the type of film you go to alone

susurration · 22/08/2018 19:44

I went to see the last 50 shades of grey film alone. The only thing awkward about it was the creepy couple nearby who were practically shagging. That situation would not have been made better by having someone with me 😂

CoolCarrie · 23/08/2018 22:56

I can’t seem to find series 3 to watch anywhere! Tiny bits on youtube, but no full episodes. I watched the first and second on Netflix, but for some reason they don’t have 3rd one. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks

breadwidow · 23/08/2018 23:07

It's on amazon prime, all 3 seasons & they will also have season 4. I've never seen it on Netflix and just searched and couldn't find it

susurration · 24/08/2018 09:49

Definitely not on Netflix UK. It's on Amazon prime, I think the dvd is on sale now too?

Ilovefluffysheep · 24/08/2018 11:33

I went to see The Spy Who Dumped Me. Good fun, leave your brain at home type of thing. Sam's english accent was all over the place though, the Scottish broke through on more than one occasion, and at other times he sounded more American than English! Still, nice to see him in something completely different.

CoolCarrie · 24/08/2018 15:23

He is in an episode of Rebus called Knots and Crosses, very young and fresh faced.

CoolCarrie · 25/08/2018 22:29

Well I bought the DVD of series 3 today! So now I can catch up before November

susurration · 28/08/2018 17:36

I saw The Spy who dumped me today. It was good, quite funny. Sam is hawt in it, but there seems to be some limit to his acting abilities. He was a bit JAMMF at times.

QueenOfTheAndals · 01/09/2018 17:25

Gorgeous new promo poster for season 4.

The promo poster is lovely, very powerful, I think.

susurration · 10/09/2018 18:40

There was a shorter one posted on Instagram today too
