New thread lassies for all things Jamie and Claire (and all things in between).

Only two episodes left! Hope everyone enjoyed episode 11.

Yes, Jamie does grow as a character while he's at Frasers Ridge and Clare seems to find her place.

Lessstressedhemum · 05/03/2018 10:40

I have been ill this week so have been bingewatching Blush. I have to say, season 2 and 3 run together really, really well. The transition from 2 -3 is fantastic and Sam deserves some kind of medal.

I've watched the first 6 episodes of season 3 in quick succession and they flow really well, too. Even if there is a fair bit of the boring Boston stuff. It was all so heartbreakingly sad. Oh God, how I wish actual, real life middle aged men looked like that.

boatgirl81 · 05/03/2018 14:48

Hi Ladies,
After discovering Jamie just before Christmas, I have watched all 3 series 3 times and have just finished the 3rd book. So the next book will all be virgin territory, so to speak!
Just wondering as I got a bit confused with the serial killer - Edinburgh fiend, was that Mr Willoughby or Campbell? They seemed to change Willoughby a lot from the book, he is pretty nasty in the book but much more likeable in the series. Also some interesting changes like no Murtagh in book 3 at all. I had assumed they might find him in the colonies at some point but is he dead or alive?

mateysmum · 06/03/2018 08:04

boatgirl In the books, Murtagh dies at Culloden, so it will be interesting to see whether they changed the plot so that he could reappear in a later series. I'm pretty sure Willoughby was the killer and yes in the book he is really unpleasant.

Ladies here is something to brighten up your day... Sam H at an Oscar party. Looks good in a tux. or out of it

I thought Cambell was the killer. Didn't he admit it when he was talking to Claire At Gellis's plantation?
But it has been sometime since I read book 3.
Finally finished book 8. The ending was a bit speedy that seemed to skip over loads of the plot without any explanation.

Lessstressedhemum · 06/03/2018 14:43

Campbell was the killer. He tried bump Claire off and the Willoughby killed him.

Sam is looking good, isn't he.

JenMumsnet · 06/03/2018 16:59

Yes, that's it Willoughby killed Campbell and the sister went off to be a seer for the guy wearing the crocodile head. It's all coming back t me now.

blibblibs · 06/03/2018 18:13

Well I've given in and am now the proud owner of TFC. Finished no 4 just as the snow came down and didn't really know what to do with myself so thought fuck it, back to Jamie I go Grin
Although I'm on page 40 and they've still not had breakfast!!

JenMumsnet · 07/03/2018 09:28

TFC does take quite a while to get going.

Lessstressedhemum · 07/03/2018 13:25

It's a slow burner but it's one of my favourites. Stick with it.

CoolCarrie · 15/03/2018 15:22

Thanks to all of you here, I have just watched series 1 and loving it!
Costumes are beautiful, Jamie is beautiful, Scotland is beautiful and it’s making me very home sick!

Lessstressedhemum · 15/03/2018 16:37

Was anyone in Glasgow/Dunure stalking Sam? No one would go with me again Sad

Chocalholic1 · 16/03/2018 21:03

Been a lurker on this thread for a while...love it...you’re all hilarious! I thought of going to Glasgow but didn’t think it would be a big scene with SH in attendance..thought it would be parts of the story set in Oxford. I was wrong! I’m thinking it’s either the gathering at the end of the book or the part when Claire does impromptu dinner party surgery?

Lessstressedhemum · 16/03/2018 21:10

I'm not sure, but I think it will be river run. St Andrews church is doubling as a southern plantation house.
I so wish I had been able to go, especially when you see all the pics of him interacting with fans.

madamefraser · 16/03/2018 22:02

I was thinking the Jocasta party, where C performed surgery..noticed that Sam underneath his OL jacket was wearing a fancy waistcoat thing...hopefully to go with a kilt Grin

snozzlemaid · 17/03/2018 08:49

Did anyone see the screenshots from an episode in S3 which showed them having J & C scars on the palms of their hands.
No-one noticed until recently. I certainly didn't see it.
Great thing to do for book readers who were so disappointed they missed that bit when they parted.
I'll see if I can find screenshots.

snozzlemaid · 17/03/2018 09:16

Here you go. Claire's is visible when she's eating the turtle soup. Not sure if Jamie's is the same episode.
I'm going to have to rewatch and see if they really are there or if someone has photoshopped this.

They look like photoshopped pictures to me but I'm nearly there in my rewatch so will look out for them

snozzlemaid · 17/03/2018 11:45

I had a quick look at the turtle soup bit earlier and you can see the J on Claire's hand when she's ladling the soup into the bowl. You have to look quick though. I had to pause it to see it.

blibblibs · 18/03/2018 16:34

Just watched the turtle soup episode and she definitely has a J on her hand. Nice touch I thought.

madamefraser · 21/03/2018 21:43

Apparently the producers wanted to have a scene in S3 with the carving of initials but it didn't work out but forgot to digitally erase the evidence !!!

madamefraser · 21/03/2018 21:44

So said twitter....

LonelyOversharer · 22/03/2018 23:01

Just catching up, I'm on a break as it were!

I did a full binge watch right through, but getting to s3 took a long time. Even though I love a lot of s2, and s1 speaks for itself, I just know them so well, and wanted to get to s3. I will watch just s3 alone next. It does flow well, but felt awfully cheated that you only get a few episodes of them back together at the end.

I couldn't carry on with the books. So I downloaded 5,6 and 7 on audio. Even though I only have to listen to it, we're also not even at breakfast at the gathering. Her mentally divvying up the eggs and stale bread is doing me in!

I try to avoid you tube. I work from home, and would never get paid if I strayed into it too often. But I now associate Outlander with my work. I produce much more/better quality when I have it on, so, needs must and all that.

blibblibs · 23/03/2018 18:23

I've almost finished TFC, the gathering was hard going and not a great start to a book, but I think it's been my favourite so far and I wasn't even going to bother with it a couple of weeks ago. Next one is being delivered tomorrow so I've been sucked right back in Grin

snozzlemaid · 23/03/2018 18:35

I really enjoyed ABOSAA. TFC was an ok read but I thought next one was much better.
