Happy Holidays (as we say here in the US), AKA.

quirkychick · 22/12/2017 09:39

Have a lovely time AKA.

JuneFromBethesda · 22/12/2017 10:57

I wanted to wish you all a very happy Christmas and thank you for a year filled with lovely banter and shared Jamie-love!

Well said AKA. Merry Christmas lassies, I have really enjoyed being part of this discussion. Looking forward to more in 2018 Smile

Have a good holiday Aka

I much prefer the alternative version of Voyager....can’t remember who wrote it on here. Brilliant.

I was wondering last night spoiler coming up how the writers will do Bree and then Roger’s arrival ..... need them to have separate journeys for future story lines.

Also I’ve realised that the only thing that really bothers me about SS as B is her awful accent. I wonder why they just didn’t let her have the same accent as her parents (Frank) then picking up a little Scottish lilt from Jamie later on. Would have been much better.

Read a really interesting article on FB about the making of the last episode, so much thought and detail goes into it.

Have a lovely holiday Aka

I love the alternative, much improved, version of Voyager. Can’t remember who wrote it on here.

Was wondering (spoiler alert) how the writers will do B and R’s separate journeys to the 18c. A lot of their journey stuff conntr ibutes to later story lines.

Also, I’ve realised that the main thing that annoys me about SS as B is her terrible accent. I wonder why, given she’s been raised by English parents, albeit in America, they just didn’t let her use her English accent adding a Scottish lilt later on when she so been with Jami e for a bit.

Read a really interestin article on Fb about the final episode. So much attention to detail, brilliant.

Did anyone see CB on This Morning last week? Just loved how Holly W was such a fan, would love to see her interview SH. Such a lovely woman (waves to Holly, bet she’s a lurker)

DryWhiteagainW · 22/12/2017 12:33

Damn, thought I’d lost my original post Hmm

quirkychick · 22/12/2017 14:38

Yy, I saw the clip of CB on This Morning, I think it was on YouTube. Holly W was such a fan girl!

SenecaFalls · 22/12/2017 16:01

I think it would have been very jarring to have Bree speak with an English accent having grown up in the US. Even with English parents, a child is going to speak the local accent. However, the Boston accent is one of the most distinctive in the US, and she doesn't use that accent either, so she does come across as inauthentic.

crumpet · 22/12/2017 21:39

The Steven Cree thing was indeed very funny Grin

MoNigheanDonn · 23/12/2017 06:17

CB was great on this morning, Holly was indeed a total Fangirl it was so funny. Could you imagine if Sam had gone on, she'd have combusted haha

Off on a slight tangent here, but to help curb my droughtlander I am binge watching 'The White Princess' It's on Drama or UKTV Play. Its one of Phillippa Gregorys Historical fiction novels based on the Tudors rise to the Monarchy.
It's no Outlander, but it is a lovely diversion when I have finished work and the costumes and sets are amazing.

Lessstressedhemum · 24/12/2017 10:54

Happy Christmas, everyone. Have a blessed and peaceful break.

Seneca, would America be really, really different if the British had won the revolutionary war?

Marsali · 24/12/2017 11:57

Merry Christmas lassies Xmas Smile

LonelyOversharer · 24/12/2017 13:54

Have a very happy Christmas! Taking a break from Outlander, but am looking forward to a full rewatch once my work starts up again in the new year.

snozzlemaid · 24/12/2017 15:24

Merry Christmas Lassies.
Hope you all have a lovely time however you are celebrating and wherever you are.

gamerwidow · 24/12/2017 16:02

Merry Christmas all. I’ve just treated myself to Seven Stones to Stand or Fall as an early present. Looking forward to reading it if I get a quiet minute (unlikely Grin)

quirkychick · 24/12/2017 16:05

Merry Christmas, everyone. I've started rewatching Season 1, but not sure how much chance I will get over Christmas!

MoNigheanDonn · 24/12/2017 19:43

Merry Christmas one and all!

Merry Christmas lassies!
I was hoping my copy of Echo would be in the library in time for Christmas but no luck. Something to look forward to in the new year. Xmas Smile

TinselToesToniMumsnet · 24/12/2017 22:33

Merry Christmas!!

Largebucket · 25/12/2017 03:51

Merry Christmas!

I've just finished watching series 3 and it got me wondering if the prophesy comes up again in any of the subsequent books or whether it was just a plot device for series 3. It seems a really big deal but I can't see how it would have relevance to any of the other characters so I'm assuming it doesn't have anywhere else to go as an independent story line.

gamerwidow · 25/12/2017 06:49

The prophesy does come up again and causes a major event in a later book.

MoNigheanDonn · 26/12/2017 15:16

I got book 6 for Christmas....still plodding along with book 1...the next chapter is 75 odd pages long and it just seems a chore atm (they're back at Leoch, next chapter is witch trial I believe). I'll get there eventually.

Hope everyone had a nice Christmas.
