Surely Phelan will have to get his comeuppance by Christmas?

Mind you, I hope Anna gets sent to prison too.

As a sidenote...

What happened to Tyrone and Fiz's engagement? One or other of them popped the question two years ago and since then, not a word. Are either of them even wearing an engagement ring? Yet another plot hole.

nibora · 03/12/2017 16:54

Well I've given up on it now but I have one of the most annoying characters living in my house. I named our ginger cat after a girl in the show who was a nice person 9 years ago, I bloody well can't stand her now.

Poor puss, luckily she doesn't care.

Brookside imploded as their story lines became more and more sensational and ridiculous. Last summer EE's were talking about changing direction as viewer numbers were falling and a reason given was the unrelenting grimness of the story lines. (I don't watch EE so don't know if anything has changed - I think a storyline where a baby might have been conceived through incest was causing consternation).

I saw the Nathan actor playing Victoria Wood's son in Housewife, 49 the other day. He was very good. There are some dud actors for sure, but also some good ones like him who try to make the best of poor writing.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 03/12/2017 20:06

Grunkalunka - yes, I abandoned both Brookside and Eastenders because of the unrelenting grimness of the storylines, which also became less and less in touch with reality.

I gave up Emmerdale Farm when they killed off my favourite character in the plane crash and renamed the village.

I don't think I will persevere with Corrie beyond Christmas if the storylines continue as they are and Phelan doesn't get his comeuppance.

I met Nathan in the pub tonight. He was very nice!

eddiemairswife · 04/12/2017 10:09

Dethany also thought Nathan was very nice, and look what happened to her!

millimat · 04/12/2017 14:44

I think my 10yo ds sums corrie up perfectly. "Why do you watch this drivel? It's about arguing, people splitting up, being unhappy and more arguing."
Fair point!

CoolCarrie · 04/12/2017 15:02

Just saw an advert for All Star Musicals and Bethney is doing Don't Cry For Me Argentina !

Akire · 04/12/2017 19:58

How quiet is this thread? Are we all in shock? Do wenelieve it?

ellenanora5 · 04/12/2017 20:02

I'm not exactly heartbroken Grin

I reckon he'll be back eventually, maybe with a new head and memory loss and ends up being besties with Phelan.

GlacindaTheTroll · 04/12/2017 20:06

Is it real, though?

Or is it a Cunning Plan?

thenightsky · 04/12/2017 20:11

How come David was in his car on Nicola's street? Did I miss some scene where he decided to follow Phelan?

keepondreaming · 04/12/2017 20:20

Why did Pat pretend to Eileen that Nicola was in Australia?

Akire · 04/12/2017 20:22

Because if Eileen asked her why problem she say the truth about him, I guess.

woodhill · 04/12/2017 20:56

Conveniently empty drawer

myusernameisnotmyusername · 04/12/2017 21:05

What's with this sudden death of Gary? I'm confused. Has David secretly killed him or made him run off or something?

LineysRunner · 04/12/2017 21:31

Is Gary being dead the spoiler? Because I've just realised I don't care any more.

I'm more interested in fleeting thoughts of Bethany one day maybe having a baby and Audrey being a great-great-grandmother and still flirting marvellously with Ken Smile

Akire · 04/12/2017 21:43

Honestly there’s like 2 kids left that a parent hadn’t been bumped off now we can add Jake to the list! And stepdad to Go along with real dad to whatever her baby is called. Plus the bump. They need to set up street counselling it’s ever house

eddiemairswife · 04/12/2017 21:56

I too am puzzled as to why David followed Phelan, and in a car that he must keep handy somewhere. Someone ought to tot up how many cars and vans there are in the street.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 04/12/2017 21:57

Gary's not exactly a great loss, is he? Can we send a few more over to be bodyguards in dangerous places?

OP posts:
eddiemairswife · 04/12/2017 22:01

Anyone bet that Luke will congratulate Zeedan on Rana's 'pregnancy'?

Akire · 04/12/2017 22:02

Because he got wind of something between them few weeks ago. Gary had said was just a kiss or something after he caught them
Chatting about baby. So when P looked at her photo in house he suspected something going on.

Housewife2010 · 04/12/2017 22:05

There's so much misery. They should bring back the humour and concentrate on fewer characters. Audrey & Ken were about to get together a year ago. What happened to that? Moyra was a good character. Has she gone for good? I'm hoping that Peter will perk up with a certain character's return. His character is wasted at the moment. Where are all the unemployed factory staff getting their money from to eat & drink out all the time? Eileen used to have a dry wit in the cab office with Steve. She is a dull character now. The Rovers is the heart of the street and needs a charismatic landlady.
