Anyone else excited by the start of the new 2017 series? I am! It's the law in our house to watch all these Christmas programmes - SCD, X Factor and Celeb.

I don't know who half the contestants are but I like Fizz (Corrie). And I can hardly bear to watch the high planks tonight...

Yes, a bit desperate to be in their little gang. They're just so sneaky with the put downs. Amir gets away with anything, but Iain has them all muttering and shaking their heads.

I have just caught up. Hope Amir is next to go. What a wimp! The final three for me are Toff, Jenny and Stanley (I think its time for Stanley to do a challenge now to prove his worth and keep his place).

I think the worse culprits of being all laddish and mean are Jamie and Amir, Dennis just tags along. I thought it was horrible when Amir and Jamie said how fantastic it was to have the three men there in the jungle and getting along so well. Just like Iain didn't exist. I hate alienation like this.

I'd like to see Stanley, Toff and Jennie in the final. I quite liked Dennis until his comment about the depth of the water.

I dont want Toff to win, she appears to have had the most screen time, in that they Want her to Win.
she will be another Scarlett Moffat and get a Job out of it imo

I just can’t get past Toff’s accent. She’s from Torquay and went to the same schools as I did. I just can’t imagine anyone speaking like that and not being slaughtered. Also the fact that she keeps going on about how different it is from Chelsea - where she’s lived for a few months as opposed to Torquay (which has some of the worst social deprivation in the country) where she’s lived her whole life. It just seems like she’s playing up to the posh girl persona when she can’t possibly be like that in real life.

I give up, who in the hell is voting for three idiots, yy Dennis seeking out the fools & letting himself down, really hope he is put straight about the depth of the water & the others are picked up on the comments/digs about Iain when they get out, as Becky has apparently been questioned about her ‘game playing ‘ comments.

I don't watch religiously but saw the car one with Jennie - I thought she was fab and so upbeat. I don't watch coronation street but had an idea who she was (unlike half the others). She seems like she's having fun and not being a bitch so she gets my vote.
Amir and Jamie are horrid. Iain would do my head in but there's no need for the nastiness

She was at boarding school before going to grammar school. I think the accent is from her days at boarding school.

Sylvia - to me, Toff has a Devon accent! I didn’t know that’s where she came from and was confused as to why she sounded nothing like the others on Chelsea.

She was at Blundells, as was I, which is a public school but not a particularly posh one. She definitely has a different accent to the others in MiC, I thought it was put on. Maybe it is a posh Devon accent? I don’t move in those circles so couldn’t say!

Agree with op re Dennis, on his own he seems nice. As soon as he’s with the Jamie and Amir he turns into a complete little weasel. I find it odd that there doesn’t seem to be a leader in their little gang, they’re all his acting like complete pricks to try and impress each other.

Also totally agree with op who said Jamie is the type to describe himself as a ‘gentleman’. Ie a sexist prick.

Iain makes me feel really sad. He reminds me so much of my cousin who killed himself a few years ago. Just the constant circle of feeling like shit, trying to jolly himself along and join in, say something misjudged and get shitty comments then going back to feeling shitty again.

Sorry about your cousin . I bet we all know someone like that, whether it be DC or friends. There's always the self proclaimed 'cool kids' with the awkward outsider. That's why I really hope Iain lasts longer than amir, Dennis and Jamie. Even if he doesn't win I just want those knobheads knocked of their perches for once.

to me, Toff has a Devon accent - she doesn't sound like anyone from Devon that I know (even one who went to private school there)

As I’ve said, Iain might be irritating but there is no need for the other guys (bar Stanley) to be so nasty towards him. I feel a bit sorry for Iain, being on the outside trying to fit in is never easy and I know what it’s like.

each time I switch it on its just TOFF TOFF TOFF. I think this has to be the most self centered person and the most annoying. They SO want her to win. I have to switch off.
I love Ian, Stanley and Dennis. I think Shappi could've been interesting had she been given any air time. Instead its the TOFF show. I'm fed up can you tell?

Yes Toff's getting a bit too bright and squeaky. And agree about the accent Sylvia, her mum isn't half so plummy.
