I don't like mead either - I'm not surprised that it ended up as a professional raffle prize.

it always sounds at though it will be exciting, but it's not

SchadenfreudePersonified · 08/11/2017 20:54

Undercooked pork.

Trichinosis on a plate,

Mightybanhammer · 08/11/2017 20:54

Snorting pork worse than flying duck of yesterday surely

MyfanwyMontez · 08/11/2017 20:54

I Love mead , but not with curry. They may be the experts bit in my mind, they don't go together.

It is unscious, luscious and like liquid honey bathed in sunshine with a kick like a mule. You lot have not been drinking the right mead!

SignoraStronza · 08/11/2017 20:54

Not watching episode 2 yet as catching up on the beginning of the first. However, have a very serious question.
What happens to the leftover duck that each of them has hacked at, not to mention the array of veg and other ingredients? Do the production staff get first dibs at the carcass, do Marcus and Monica cook up a feast for everyone, or does it all get binned?
I NEED to know!

fourquenelles · 08/11/2017 20:55

unctuous rather (in a good way)

Mightybanhammer · 08/11/2017 20:56

God hope not binned! Food waste is awful

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 08/11/2017 20:56

Daniel is a dickhead.
Stop putting flowers on meat! It's wrong!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 08/11/2017 20:57

Holy Island Mead.

The world's best.

It's still muck.

fourquenelles · 08/11/2017 20:58

Google says that Masterchef Australia sends the left overs to the local food banks. Hope its the same here.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 08/11/2017 20:58

It was pretty obvious that those three would go, but I feel for them all (except Daniel, who looked like he was on glue)

SchadenfreudePersonified · 08/11/2017 20:59

Ryan's the one to watch

squoosh · 08/11/2017 20:59

Schaden I sense you have strong feelings on the subject of mead! Grin

Halsall · 08/11/2017 20:59

Signora, I always wonder that. It bothers me too. I do remember reading something once that said all the raw food is taken home by the young (badly-paid) people who work on the show. The crew eat anything that's cooked and left over, apparently.

fourquenelles · 08/11/2017 20:59

Don't disagree with the judges this time.

Jayyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!! Lick!!!!!!!!

See you tomorrow.

GrouchyKiwi · 08/11/2017 20:59

Shock four

Well, if any mead turns up at our house you'll be the first/only person I call/message/send up a bat signal to.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 08/11/2017 21:01

Agreed Schadenfreude. But me and sil git fairly hammered trying all the other liqueurs and what not at the distillery.
The butchery challenge was silly in the first round. Should have just been given a breast each.
Right sees ya all tomoz.

sweetbitter · 09/11/2017 00:10

Just caught up. I put forward "undercooked meat" for Masterchef bingo this year. It seemed to be the pervasive theme of the two episodes.

I do find it depressing that all the more diverse (ie non white male) contestants left in both rounds.

Greg needs to fuck off. That can never be said enough.

MercianQueen · 09/11/2017 00:20

Does anyone know where Ryan works? I half recognised the incredibly brief shot of his place in Cumbria and thought I recognised it...

SchadenfreudePersonified · 09/11/2017 11:22

Greg needs to fuck off. That can never be said enough.

I cannot but agree sweetbitter. Perhaps we could set up a "gofundme" page, and depending upon how much we raise,

a) hire a plane to skywrite those words across the heavens

b) buy advertising space on all channels, 24hrs a day to get this important message across to the nation

c) pay The Mob to quietly dispose of him somewhere (though Vlad and Vanka would probably do it for a beetroot sammich) - preferably in an alligator infested swamp

d) all of the above

The Grotesquely Grinning Gurning Grocer will never be a popular (gastro) pub name.

On the other hand The Fox and Kiwi has a nice ring to it Grin

squoosh · 09/11/2017 11:26

Oh come now, would you really want to deprive all those young beauties on Twitter the chance to be seduced and squired by that valiant bald greengrocer?

He’s only married two of them so far.

BertrandRussell · 09/11/2017 11:39

I know Greg's cleaner. But my lips are sealed.

squoosh · 09/11/2017 12:42

Lips are only sealed if there's horror to be concealed Grin

2014newme · 09/11/2017 12:46

The part where you watch 6 people do the skills test is rather tedious
