"They where happily getting remarried a few months ago (surely less than a year in Corrie time)"

Gail mentioned that the funeral was in the first anniversary of the secind wedding. It was a Christian burial, and Ivy surely could have arranged a separate Requiem, or at least had Mass said for him. But you had two strong characters, during a time of sudden and awful stress, painting themselves into corners and being intransigent.

This, combined with Don's attitude to money and gambling, is the start of a significant hardening of Ivy. Poor thing, really.

ChevalierTialys · 30/05/2018 12:29

Does anyone else find Gails hair really irritating?

CutePest · 30/05/2018 12:46

Ivy should not be apologising to Gail, it should be the other way round. Yes, Gail is very annoying, not just her hair Grin

Alan is right old creepy lech, urrrrgh.

kikashi · 30/05/2018 13:54

Alan with the breath spray (shudder) - poor Dawn.

Oh Ivy - I agree Cute Gail should be sorry. It was totally wrong to not have Brian buried by Fr. O'Donovan since he had known the family for many years. Gail is very irritating as is her hair!

I wish I had a childminder and friend extraordinaire like Pauline.

CoolCarrie · 30/05/2018 15:21

I found it odd that Vera and Jack were not at Brian’s funeral, Vera is always going on about how Ivy is her best mate, but didn’t go to to the funeral of her best mate’s only son!

kikashi · 30/05/2018 17:07

Good point. Perhaps the actors had leave that week - I don't think Jacko was in the pub either.

MabelStark · 31/05/2018 00:17

Just place makingWink

SoleBizzz · 31/05/2018 00:34

I missed today's. I absolutely love Classic Corrie.

cherrytree63 · 31/05/2018 01:20

Sole it'll be repeated at 6.20 if you want to see it!

cherrytree63 · 31/05/2018 01:25

...6 am and 6.25...

Chocolateandjam · 31/05/2018 07:03

I nearly burnt a hole in my ironing willing Rita to find evidence of Alan's fraud.

kikashi · 31/05/2018 09:13

Great scene with Rita and Dawn. Rita claiming Dawn fancied Alan (as if?) and to sling her hook and then being pulled up short by the Len Fairclough revelation.

Never thought we'd get to meet DP. I suspected Derek was actually unemployed - hence his reluctance to actually buy a house.

Gail was a bit dismissive of Kev - he's kept the garage going alone and should have been kept in the loop or at least given a bonus. She really is quite arrogant. Still haven't forgiven her for the burial.

sparklepops123 · 31/05/2018 15:08

RITA !! 😱

Kannet · 31/05/2018 16:11

I'm just catching up. Gail was so spiteful. Why not do a proper funeral to help her ivy

Eeeh kev and Martin in their suits for Jenny's 18th party 🤣🤣🤣

SuperSuperSuper · 31/05/2018 21:08

I thought that Gail treated Ivy very callously. I also felt that she should have discussed the sale of the garage with Kevin before Tom Casey showed up.

The outfits at that 18th! Took me back. I'm just a bit younger than Jenny and was (underage) drinking and clubbing in 1989. It made me very nostalgic.

Mark Eden was brilliant, wasn't he.

Loving Emily's new "romance". And Percy's reaction.

Mammyloveswine · 31/05/2018 23:50

Do Emily and Percy get together? I hope so!

Eeeh the scenes with Alan and rita 🙈🙈🙈

ChevalierTialys · 01/06/2018 08:02

The least Gail could have done was give Kevin first refusal.

JeremyWadesTackle · 01/06/2018 10:05

I am really not liking Gail and actually feel sorry for Ivy.

BluthsFrozenBananas · 01/06/2018 10:13

I don’t think Kevin wanted the garage, Sally is ambitious for him but he never seems to want more than he’s got.

I’m a year younger than Jenny so the teen fashion has been a total nostalgia fest for me. I bet that birthday party smelled of Anais Anais, hair mousse and Archers peach schnapps.

Kannet · 01/06/2018 11:03

I'm still catching up, but I did feel sorry for Percy when he realised he wasn't invited to the dinner party.

Mark Eden was terrific - so menacing. Poor Jenny - stomping along the hospital corridor in her electric blue taffeta dress with black velvet bodice - she'd really had a rotten time. It was quite shocking that Bradley was actually trying to kill Rita. (Rita's heavy eye make up disappeared between the house and hospital).

Nice to see Emily have an admirer.

ChevalierTialys · 01/06/2018 12:35

It was really quite upsetting, that scene between Rita and Alan. He really doesn't see he's done anything wrong and actually thinks it's all her fault for finding out Hmm

sparklepops123 · 01/06/2018 12:40

The guy that plays Alan is in real life the husband of the woman that plays Audrey

Kannet · 01/06/2018 16:47

That must have been odd for him. Did he ever do anything after Corrie or was he too typecast.
