Terry is such a shit! Got a have a laugh at Mike Baldwin and Curly

Redglitter · 26/04/2018 14:26

Curly annoys me more than he used to. He's very shouty and always has an edge to his voice. He sounds defensive no matter what he's saying.

It's only when you see the old episodes that you appreciate how much the Rovers really needs a landlord/landlady with a personality and presence. Bet would have Toyah for breakfast

kikashi · 26/04/2018 14:55

Rita seems to have started sporting her wig. Red I remember not liking Curly and still don't - he is a bad actor, really shouty - you are right.

Botfly · 26/04/2018 15:34

I was wondering why Rita's hair is looking pink!

On an important note, I keep checking out the chocolates and sweets in the shop, behind Rita there is something called Coasters in a brown and yellow packet, I think its a chocolate bar but I cannot remember it, does anyone know what they are??Grin

It's annoying me that Kevin is eating his dinner with oil on his face. We get it he's a mechanic

I understand the oil on face angst. I always get annoyed when a TV character comes in from work or wherever, and sits down to a meal without going for a wee first. It's not normal.

P.S Nobody rocks a golfing jumper like Mike Baldwin.

kikashi · 01/05/2018 20:55

I also hate when someone in a soap takes over in a cafe or pub, they never ever wash their hands.

DeathCap · 03/05/2018 09:09

ooo that Alan Bradley! Poor Rita, wish she would chuck him out and finish with him! Hmm

Kannet · 03/05/2018 19:41

Can't believe he turned it round on her. What a cad

It gets worse later on with Alan and Rita

Very funny scenes today with Derek getting pissed on 2 pints of brandy and Mavis getting advice from Bet on sorting Derek out.

CoolCarrie · 04/05/2018 17:59

Wedding to look forward to on Monday !

cloudyweewee · 04/05/2018 18:04

I felt a bit queasy today watching Alan and his woman eating lunch. He finished his lunch, stood up, kissed her, then carried on chewing something!!

Kannet · 04/05/2018 19:30

Oh I noticed that. It was horrible

"the worst thing that can happen a woman is losing her man" classic Derek. Mavis is far too good for him.

Kannet · 07/05/2018 16:27

Oh that wedding was sweet.

supersop60 · 07/05/2018 18:45

And unlike many recent weddings, it was calm, we actually had camera shots that were longer than 3 seconds so we could watch all the vows. The pace was so much slower in the older episodes - better scripts.

CoolCarrie · 07/05/2018 19:43

The wedding was lovely, Derek’s stag night was hilarious, Percy to the rescue and Jack selling Vera’s microwave, Bet telling Marvis to give Derek a good hiding!

Kannet · 07/05/2018 19:54

200 for a microwave. You can probably get one for 20 quid now

kikashi · 07/05/2018 20:45

Just great - proper drama with Rita crying at the end. Derek so funny on the stag and Mavis - brilliant acting she genuinely looked all a twitter and so happy at the reception.

EdithWeston · 08/05/2018 06:15

Yay - I thought I'd missed the wedding because I forgot it was Monday yesterday (Bank Hol) - but I'm watching it now!

I missed the Fri pm/Mon am episodes which I thought was wedding, but turned out to be final run up.

This has made me ridiculously happy (unlike text from Ocado telling me that all ice cream is missing from order and ice lollies substituted for same brand totally different (and horrible)flavour.

Housewife2010 · 08/05/2018 06:29

I enjoyed the wedding. Derek's speech was lovely. I missed it the first time round as I'd just started university.

Chakotay · 08/05/2018 10:27

I feel like shaking Rita, mooning around, wanting to see Alan and wanting him back! HE HAS BEEN WITH ANOTHER WOMAN!

Urrgh, she needs to get some dignity and try and forget about him.

CoolCarrie · 08/05/2018 12:52

I know, Rita needs to know that he is a shit! But we will see as it turns out Bet comes to the rescue

CoolCarrie · 08/05/2018 12:54

The actor who plays Alan Bradley is 90 now, so he must be in his 60s in the old episodes.

BluthsFrozenBananas · 08/05/2018 13:49

That’s three weddings by my count since the repeat run started, and not one of them ridiculously over dramatised. A bit of silly stuff with Jack and his suit at Ivy’s, and a definite sense of “will they won’t they” with Mavis and Derick (although of course we knew all along they would) but that’s all. I’ve long since given up with modern soaps where everything always seems to be at fever pitch, whatever happened to decent pacing.

I’m also really enjoying the background music, so many nostalgic tunes I’d forgotten about. I particularly enjoyed hearing Chocolate Girl by Deacon Blue a week or so ago.
